Doctors' responses
Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Adenomyosis, characterized by heavy bleeding and severe pain, can be understood in Ayurveda as an imbalance primarily involving the Vata and Pitta doshas. The severe pain and irregular bleeding suggest an aggravated Vata, leading to instability and irregularity in the uterine tissues. Pitta, responsible for heat and transformation, contributes to inflammation and excessive bleeding.
The anemia you mentioned is often a result of excessive bleeding, leading to a depletion of Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue), which further aggravates Vata due to weakness and dryness.
Ayurveda sees these symptoms as interconnected, resulting from a systemic imbalance. Poor digestion (Agni) might be contributing to the formation of Ama (toxins), which can accumulate and disrupt the normal functioning of the reproductive system. Stress and lifestyle factors can further aggravate these doshas, leading to the symptoms you’re experiencing.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
