Hair thinning and hair loss can be deeply concerning, especially when it seems to come out of nowhere. While you're already practicing hair oiling several times a week and using a mild shampoo, there might be other factors to consider. In Ayurveda, hair health is closely connected to the balance of your doshas, particularly Pitta dosha, which when aggravated, can lead to hair fall. First, let’s focus on some lifestyle and dietary changes. It would be useful to incorporate Pitta-pacifying foods such as cooling vegetables, like cucumbers and zucchini, sweet fruits like pears and grapes, and plenty of hydration with water and herbal teas like chamomile. Reduce spicy, fried, and overly salty foods as they can aggravate Pitta. Using Kunthalakanthi oil can indeed help as it is known for its properties to strengthen hair roots and promote thickness. You might also consider oils such as Bhringraj oil, which is excellent for promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. Massage your scalp with these oils gently, and let it stay for at least an hour before washing. That can improve blood circulation to the scalp, thereby nourishing the hair Follicles. For internal support, Ayurvedic herbs like Amla (Indian gooseberry) and Brahmi can be very beneficial. They nourish the hair and help prevent further hair loss. You might want to look for Ayurvedic supplements that include these ingredients, as they can support hair health from within. Another supplement to consider is Ashwagandha, which helps in reducing stress levels—a common cause of hair loss. Be sure to follow a regular sleep pattern, as well-being plays a crucial role. Stress management is key, so incorporating yoga and meditation into your daily routine can also help sustain overall health, including hair health. Additionally, if the hair fall persists, it may be worthwhile to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner in person, who can offer an individualized approach, including an assessment of your Prakriti (personal constitution) and any specific imbalance. Remember, these steps might take time to show results as Ayurveda focuses on treating the root cause but are generally aimed at providing long-term benefits. Please make sure to avoid any harsh chemicals or treatments on your hair. If your condition deteriorates or if your hair loss becomes significantly worse, please reach out for professional medical care to rule out any underlying issues.
