Doctors’ responses

Hey there, I get it, managing sugar levels can be quite a juggling act, right? Especially if you're on that borderline. To answer your question directly, jaggery is kinda like regular sugar. Even though it's less processed and has some minerals that sugar doesn’t...it can still spike blood sugar levels. So yeah, better to keep its consumption in moderation, especially if you're watching the sugar. Oh, and about the itchiness — that's a piece of the puzzle too. When certain foods cause a reaction, it's like a signal your body's giving you to reconsider them. So, with those ripe bananas and dates, it might be the higher sugar content or some chemical compounds that are triggering the itch. Try avoiding them for a bit, see if it helps. Now, peanuts and fried items like papad, those could be irritating because of the heat, like excess Pitta. It dilates your skin and digestive channels, kinda creates that burning sensation. You might wanna reduce vadi (fermented items) and heat-inducing foods. Cooling herbs like coriander and fennel are nice. You can steep them as tea...just sip throughout the day. Dairy can help sometimes but be cautious though if lactose is a problem for you. Fresh aloe vera gel can soothe, you can apply it to the itchy area, also might to drink the juice (in moderation) to cool down the Pitta. And check how's your Agni, your digestive fire, if it's strong or weakened. Because bad digestion creates toxins, which can lead to skin issues too. A simple trikatu churna (a mix of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) with honey, a pinch before meals stimulate digestion, aid detoxification. Stay hydrated, try responses that cooling, and avoid late night meals, heavy spices. These're steps in the right direction, so experiment a bit, listen to your body, and reach out if things don't improve!
