Namaste Deepak,
Before you start using Atibala powder, you first need to strengthen your digestion and metabolism. If your digestive fire (Agni) is weak, even good medicines like Atibala will not work effectively. For the next 10–15 days, take Vaishwanara Choornam – about half a teaspoon with lukewarm water before lunch. This will help reduce gas, bloating, and heaviness, and clear the body of Ama (metabolic toxins). Once digestion improves, you can safely begin rejuvenating herbs.
Why you feel this dryness and weakness
From a modern view, after sexual activity your body loses energy, minerals, and essential fluids. When digestion and metabolism are low, the body cannot rebuild these quickly, which leads to fatigue, dryness, mood swings, and irritability. Sitting for long hours further slows down blood circulation and hormonal balance, which makes recovery slower and aggravates Vata dosha. This is why you feel drained, dry, and demotivated for a few days after intercourse.
Ayurvedic plan
After you complete about 10–15 days of Vaishwanara Choornam and your digestion feels lighter, start taking Ashwagandha choornam with warm milk at bedtime — one teaspoon mixed in a glass of milk, with a little ghee or jaggery if you like.
In the morning or evening, you can also drink milk boiled with Atibala, Ashwagandha, and Gokshura powders. Take half a teaspoon of each, boil with one cup of milk and one cup of water together until it reduces to one cup, then strain and drink warm.
This combination nourishes the tissues, restores energy, and helps manage Vata-related dryness and fatigue.
Diet and daily care
Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, smoking, and all junk or fried foods. Eat light, warm, and freshly cooked meals — things like moong dal, rice, soups, and vegetables prepared with ghee or a little sesame oil. Drink enough warm water through the day.
Try to get at least seven to eight hours of sound sleep every night. Gentle yoga or a short walk daily will also help circulation and reduce bloating.
Because you’ve had blood pressure issues in the past, keep a routine check on it while taking these tonics. The herbs mentioned are generally safe, but regular monitoring is wise.
If you follow this plan, your strength, hydration, and energy should gradually return. In about three to four weeks you’ll notice better mood, stamina, and digestion.
How to Use Atibala Powder Safely - Dosage: 1–2 grams once or twice daily - Anupana (vehicle): Warm milk with a pinch of cardamom or ghee - Best Time: Morning and/or bedtime - Duration: 6–8 weeks, then reassess
You can add Ashwagandha Yamakam also to get better results: 1/2 tsp twice daily with warm milk after meals
HELLO DEEPAK,
You are 32 year old male experiencing -dryness in the body, more after intercourse -fatigue, irritability, low mood for 2-3 days after -gas, bloating, and digestion issues -sedentary lifestyle -past history of Bp, now stable -overweight more body fat
All these together indicate that your body’s internal lubrication, strength and energy reserve are getting depleted- mostly due to aggravated vata dosha, weak digestion and depletion of nourishing body tissues
In Ayurveda, your health depends on the balance of three bio-energies -Vata= movement , nerve function, dryness -Pitta= metabolism, heat, digestion -Kapha= strength, lubricaion, stability
You have vata aggravation due to stress, irregular lifestyle, dryness , ejaculation , gas and weakened digestion
When vata increases, it dries the body internally- like dry leaves losing moisture. This causes -dryness in tisues -fatigue, lack of enthusiasm -weakness after intercourse -gas and irregular digestion -nervousness, mood swings
In simple terms- your body is losing its “oil and moisture balance”, and the nervous and tissues are not being properly nourished

Experiencing internal dryness, especially becoming more pronounced post-intercourse, could suggest an imbalance in Vata dosha. Vata, characterized by qualities like dryness and lightness, could be exacerbated in your lifestyle and constitution. Sedentary habits and an accumulation of excess body fat might contribute further to this condition, alongside the gas and bloating you’re experiencing.
Considering Atibala (Abutilon indicum) powder, it’s recognized in Ayurveda for its potential benefits in nourishing and balancing Vata when used properly. This herb has demulcent properties, potentially helping to improve moisture levels within the body. It’s also known for its rejuvenative qualities, which can aid in combating weakness and fatigue you’re feeling post-intercourse. However, it’s critical to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any herb, especially with a previous history of blood pressure issues.
Meanwhile, there’s several practical measures you might consider:
1. Dietary Adjustments: Focus on a Vata-pacifying diet. Incorporate warm, unctuous, and moist foods. Include ghee, warm milk, and you can add spices like cinnamon or cardamom, which help with digestive fire (agni) and reduces gas.
2. Routine & Lifestyle: Maintain a regular daily schedule to ground Vata energies. Gentle exercises like yoga can enhance circulation and aid digestion.
3. Hydration: Consume warm fluids, such as herbal teas and soups, to ease Vata dryness, while avoiding cold and raw foods.
4. Herbal Teas: Try ginger or fennel teas to mitigate bloating and balance digestive fire.
5. Atibala Use: If deemed suitable after professional consultation, Atibala powder can generally be taken with warm milk to enhance absorption.
Remember, serious internal dryness and related symptoms necessitate a thorough evaluation. Monitor your condition closely, and if symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice to rule out underlying issues.
The symptoms you’re describing, like dryness, mood swings, and bloating, can certainly relate to an imbalance in vata dosha. Vata, associated with air and ether elements, governs movement, bodily functions, and the nervous system. An increase in vata can cause those feelings of dryness and mental unrest. The sedentary lifestyle you’re mentioning can aggravate this imbalance even further.
Atibala (Abutilon indicum) is often used in Siddha and Ayurvedic practices for its ability to rejuvenate and invigorate the body. It may help balance vata dosha to some extent. You can consider using atibala powder, but it’s essential to integrate it into a holistic routine. Take the powder with warm milk or water, about 1-2 grams a day, preferably in the morning or before bed. However, remember it may not address all symptoms, like bloating, entirely on its own.
Dryness can also signify a deficiency in the dhatus (tissues), especially rasa (nutrient fluid) and rakta (blood). To nurture these, maintain a diet with healthy fats like ghee, sesame oil, and avocados. You may benefit from herbs and foods known for their rasayana (rejuvenating) properties, such as ashwagandha, amla, and seasonal fruits.
In addressing your bloating and gas, consider ginger tea regularly, which can support agni (digestive fire) and reduce vata-related digestion issues. Also, avoid gas-forming foods like beans or cabbage.
If your symptoms persist, or affect your daily life significantly, it’s wise to consult a local practitioner familiar with your physical constitution and history, ensuring the treatment plan is tailored to your needs.
Yes Atibala is an excellent rasayana and vata pacifying herb particularly used in body weakness internal dryness fatigue and post coital depletion Start half tsp with warm milk two times daily Atibala is generally safe in blood pressure
