Doctors' responses

Your symptoms suggest a few possibilities that could relate to aggravated doshas, particularly in the Vata and Pitta. Heaviness in the upper abdomen along with mild pain may indicate some digestive issue or musculoskeletal strain. An imbalance in Pitta could lead to inflammation or heat in the body, possibly influencing your digestive system, which could contribute to the feeling of heaviness.

Firstly, pay attenton to your digestion. Ensure your digestive fire, or ‘Agni,’ is functioning well. Avoid heavy, greasy foods and opt for lighter, easily digestible meals. Incorporate cooked vegetables, warm soups, and try to eat at regular intervals. Use herbs like ginger or fennel tea to aid digestion after meals. Ginger can be great for improving digestion, so you might want to have a small piece or drink ginger tea in the morning.

You mentioned feeling something stuck when bending, this might indicate muscular tension or potentially a structural issue. Gently incorporating some yoga or stretching exercises may help to but be careful not to overdo it, especially if you experience pain. Restorative yoga poses, like gentle supine twists, could support relaxation while improving circulation.

For saans foolna or breathlessness, please ensure you are not exerting more than what your body can handle. Pranayama techniques, like Nadi Shodhana and Anulom Vilom, might support lung capacity and efficiently manage stress and energy flow, though they should be practiced under guidance until you’re comfortable.

It’s important to be cautious, considering the pain radiates to the shoulder. A detailed examination by a healthcare provider might be prudent to rule out other conditions such as cardiac or diaphragm concerns. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical evaluation without delay. Remember to maintain good hydration and regular, gentle physical activity as your routine allows.
