Doctors' responses
Based on the symptoms you have described, it seems you have a combination of dosha imbalances rather than just Vata. There are elements of Vata imbalance, like the bloating, gas, and dry feelings. The tendency to overthink and procrastinate, along with feeling dry after intercourse also relate to Vata. However, your symptoms of sweating, thirst, feeling hot, and getting irritated suggest a Pitta imbalance. Additionally, your body fat in the abdominal area and chest, feeling lethargic, and tendency to procrastinate could indicate Kapha imbalance as well.
Addressing the root of these imbalances can be done with an approach tailored to your specific symptoms and lifestyle:
- Diet: Emphasize grounding and warm foods that are easy to digest. For instance, incorporating cooked vegetables, whole grains like rice or quinoa, and lean proteins. Avoid spicy, fried, or overly oily foods which might aggravate Pitta. On the other hand, limit cold and raw foods, favoring warm, lightly spiced meals.
- Herbs and Remedies: Triphala can support your digestion and elimination, take 1-2 teaspoons with warm water before bed. Ashwagandha might help with energy and mood, a small dose regularly, either as a supplement or as a powder mixed with warm milk.
- Lifestyle: Develop a consistent routine with regular meal times. Practice calming activities like yoga or walking in nature to balance Vata and Pitta. Encourage relaxation techniques, perhaps meditation to help balance your mood swings and anger.
- Sleep and Rest: Ensure you have a restful sleep pattern, ideally going to bed by 10 p.m., and don’t engage in stimulating activities before sleep.
By combining these, you harness the best of Ayurveda and naturally align your bodily energies. But, considering the complexity and severity of some of your symptoms, it’s essential to consult in person, with an Ayurvedic practitioner for a more detailed analysis.
