Hello‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Vanitha, Thanks for asking such an important question. I can totally understand your point of view — if a person already has heart palpitations, it is only natural that he/she worries about a new medicine might make it worse.

YOUR CONCERN & PROBABLE CONTEXT

From your message: You are already on medication for heart palpitations You are inquiring whether a Manasa Tablet can cause or worsen palpitations You are nervous about heart safety

This is an extremely valid concern and a question that should always be answered before taking any new medicine.

WHAT IS MANASA TABLET (AYURVEDIC VIEW)

Manasa Tablet is mainly:

Used in Anxiety Mental Restlessness Stress-related complaints Sleep disturbances

It primarily impacts: Mind (Manovaha Srotas) The nervous system calming Vata–Pitta balance

Manasa Tablet did not cause heart palpitations, right?

👉 In MOST cases — NO.

✔️ Manasa Tablet is not a stimulant ✔️ It does not increase heart rate ✔️ It generally alleviates anxiety-induced palpitations, rather than aggravating them

On the contrary, a large number of palpitations are anxiety/stress related, so treating the cause can be a great help to the heart.

IMPORTANT CAUTION (VERY IMPORTAN

However, if Manasa Tablet is definitely a safe one: If palpitations are caused by: Diseases of the heart structure Arrhythmia diagnosed by ECG Thyroid problems

👉 Then, a new medicine should be introduced with extreme caution.

HOW TO TAKE IT SAFELY (IF ADVISED) - Only start with a LOW DOSE - ½ tablet once a day, after food - Check your condition for 3–5 days

- If you are not experiencing more palpitations, you can continue the dose as directed ❌ Do NOT start immediately with a full dose ❌ Do NOT take it if your stomach is empty

IS IT ALRIGHT TO COMBINE THIS MEDICINE WITH HEART MEDICINES?

✅ In most cases yes, but:

Maintain a 2-hour interval between Manasa Tablet and heart drugs Don’t discontinue your allopathic heart treatment - Manasa Tablet is usually not a cause of heart palpitations - It can be a great helper when palpitations are anxiety-induced - Start low and watch - Keep taking your heart medicines as prescribed

You are right to be cautious and it is always best to take medicines in a thoughtful manner

Wishing you a calm mind and good heart health – Dr Snehal ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Vidhate

Hi Vanitha,

Don’t worry 🙂 I understand your concern completely. As you already taking medicine for heart palpitations, and you want to know whether Manasa tablet can cause palpitations.

Let me reassure you clearly and calmly.

✅ Manasa tablet will NOT cause heart palpitations. ✅ It is actually given to reduce anxiety, fear, restlessness, and stress-related palpitations. ✅ It is safe to take along with your current heart medicines when taken in the correct dose.

Many people feel palpitations mainly due to tension, worry, or overthinking. Fear about medicines itself can trigger symptoms — so clarity is important.

Your treatment will focus on calming the mind, balancing Vata, and supporting heart rhythm, without disturbing your existing treatment.

🔎 Recommended Investigations (Only if not done recently or if symptoms continue) 1. ECG 2. Thyroid Profile (TSH) 3. Hemoglobin 4. Serum electrolytes (especially potassium)

💊 Internal Medicines Phase 1 – 2–4 weeks (Mind calming + Palpitation control) 1. Manasa Tablet – 1 tablet at night after food – Calms the mind, reduces fear, anxiety, restlessness – Does not increase heart rate ✔ Best to start at night for confidence

2. Continue your current heart palpitation medicine – Do not stop or change it without your doctor’s advice 3. Brahmi Vati (plain) – 1 tablet at bedtime

Phase 2 – 4–6 weeks (Heart & mind strengthening) 1. Arjuna capsule / Arjunarishta (diluted) – 10 ml + equal water once daily after meals – Supports heart strength and rhythm – Does not cause palpitations

🌿 External & Supportive Therapies 1. Foot massage with Brahmi oil or Ksheerabala oil – Daily at night – Very calming for nerves and heart 2. Head oil application (Shiroabhyanga) – 2–3 times per week

🥗 Diet & Lifestyle Tips ❌ Avoid 1. Tea, coffee, energy drinks 2. Late-night sleeping 3. Mobile use before bed ✅ Include 1. Warm, home-cooked food 2. Milk at night (if digestion allows) 3. Fruits like banana, apple 4. Adequate water intake

🧘🏻‍♀️ Breathing & Relaxation 1. Anulom Vilom – 10 minutes 2. Bhramari – 5–7 rounds 3. Quiet sitting or prayer – 5 minutes

Sleep routine Sleep by 10–10:30 pm

🕉️ Follow-up * Manasa tablet is gentle and non-addictive * It is commonly used in palpitation patients * You should feel calmer within 5–7 days * If palpitations increase for any reason, you can stop and inform your doctor

✨ You can take Manasa tablet without fear. You are safe, and this medicine is meant to calm you, not harm you.

Take care, Dr. Sumi MS (Ayu)
