Doctors' responses

Hlo,

I’ll answer this carefully, because Femcalm (Femclam) syrup is often misunderstood.

Short answer - No, you should not start Femcalm just because someone suggested it, especially when: - Your periods are regular - Your main issue is low blood flow, not missed periods - Your PCOS is currently under control-

What Femcalm syrup actually does - Femcalm is an Ayurvedic uterine tonic commonly used for: - Irregular or delayed periods - Hormonal imbalance - PMS, pelvic congestion - Weak uterus after long-term irregular cycles ⚠️ It is NOT a weight gainer ⚠️ It does NOT directly increase menstrual blood flow ⚠️ In some women with PCOS, it can even reduce flow further if not needed

Your current condition (important) From what you shared: ✔ Periods are regular ✔ PCOS follicles have resolved ❌ Flow is light ❌ Sedentary lifestyle 👉 Light flow after PCOS recovery is very common and usually related to: - Weak endometrial lining - Poor pelvic circulation - Low iron / nutrition issues - Sedentary routine This does NOT automatically mean you need Femcalm. Should you take Femcalm now?

❌ I would NOT recommend Femcalm at this stage unless: Periods become delayed again Or cycles become irregular Or there is pelvic pain / PMS Taking it unnecessarily may: Disturb a stabilized cycle Suppress flow further Delay natural hormonal recovery

What is better for light flow right now (safe options) 1. Diet & circulation (very important) 1 tsp ghee daily with warm food Soaked black raisins (munakka) 5–6 daily Beetroot / pomegranate 3–4 times/week Warm water only (avoid cold drinks)

2. Gentle Ayurvedic support (optional & safer) If you want mild support (not compulsory): - Ashokarishta – 10 ml + equal water, once daily after lunch (for 2 months) OR Dashmool kwath occasionally (improves pelvic circulation)

3. Lifestyle correction (non-negotiable) 30 min brisk walking or yoga daily Avoid skipping meals Sleep before 11 pm When Femcalm would be appropriate

You may consider Femcalm only if: Periods become irregular again You miss cycles Hormonal symptoms worsen 👉 In that case, it should be taken under guidance, not self-started.

FEMCLAM SYRUP IS NOT A GENERAL TONIC AND IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD PCOS IN THE PAST IT IS USUALLY GIVEN WHEN THERE IS ACTIVE HORMONAL IMBALANCE WITH IRREGULAR PERIODS DELAYED CYCLES CYST RELATED PAIN OR HEAVY CONGESTION SYMPTOMS

IN YOUR CASE YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOUR PERIODS ARE NOW REGULAR THE ONLY ISSUE IS LOW FLOW

WHEN PERIODS ARE REGULAR BUT FLOW IS LOW IT DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN PCOS IS ACTIVE LOW FLOW CAN ALSO HAPPEN DUE TO LOW ENDOMETRIAL BUILD UP STRESS NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY THYROID FLUCTUATION OR PREVIOUS HORMONAL MEDICATION EFFECT

IF YOU TAKE FEMCLAM WITHOUT PROPER NEED IT CAN UNNECESSARILY STIMULATE HORMONAL ACTIVITY CAUSE CYCLE DISTURBANCE OR CREATE EXCESS BLEEDING IN SOME WOMEN

SO MY ADVICE IS DO NOT START FEMCLAM SYRUP JUST ON A WELL WISHER SUGGESTION WHEN YOUR CYCLE IS ALREADY REGULAR

FIRST THIS SHOULD BE CLARIFIED IS YOUR LOW FLOW PAINFUL OR PAINLESS IS IT RED OR DARK BROWN HOW MANY DAYS DOES IT LAST ARE YOU TRYING TO CONCEIVE OR NOT

GENERALLY FOR REGULAR CYCLES WITH LOW FLOW WE PREFER MILD ENDOMETRIAL SUPPORT NOT STRONG HORMONAL SYRUPS

A BETTER AND SAFER OPTION IN SUCH CASES IS ASHOKARISHTA 20 ML TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD WITH EQUAL WATER OR SHATAVARI KALPA 1 TEASPOON TWICE DAILY WITH WARM MILK

THESE SUPPORT HEALTHY FLOW WITHOUT DISTURBING THE CYCLE

IF YOU STILL WANT TO USE FEMCLAM THEN IT SHOULD ONLY BE AFTER A DOCTOR EVALUATES YOUR CURRENT HORMONAL STATUS AND ULTRASOUND REPORT

TAKING THE RIGHT MEDICINE AT THE WRONG TIME CAN CREATE A NEW PROBLEM EVEN IF THE MEDICINE IS GOOD

IF YOU WANT YOU CAN SHARE YOUR LAST ULTRASOUND THYROID REPORT AND HOW MANY DAYS YOUR PERIOD LASTS AND I CAN GUIDE YOU MORE ACCURATELY

HELLO,

You had PCOS last year. Now your periods are regular, which is a very positive sign. However, the flow is light, which means the body is still not fully balanced internally.

FROM AN AYURVEDIC POINT OF VIEW -Kapha dosha caused PCOS earlier-> cyst tendency, sluggish ovaries, hormonal imbalance -With time, treatment or natural correction, cycles became regular -But now Vata dosha has become dominant, causing –reduced blood flow –dryness in uterine tissues –inadequate nourishment of menstrual blood

THINK OF IT LIKE THIS -The cycle timing is corrected, but the menstrual tissue strength is still weak

WHY IS MENSTRUAL FLOW LIGHT? According to Ayurveda, proper menstruation needs -good digestion -proper blood formation -clear channels -balanced hormones

IN YOUR CASE -Sedentary lifestyle-> slow metabolism -Mild kapha blockage still present -Vata dryness-> less flow -Uterus and ovaries need better nourishment

This is not dangerous, but it should not be ignored, because -Long term light flow can again disturb ovulation -PCOS tendency can return if lifestyle remains sedentary

TREATMENT GOALS -balance vata + kapha -improve digestion and metabolism -nourish uterus and ovaries -prevent recurrence of PCOS -improve quality of menstrual blood -support natural hormonal rhythm

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS

1) ASHOKARISHTA= 20 ml with equal water, twice daily after meals for 3 months = nourishes uterus, improves menstrual blood quality, regulates flow gently, does not force bleeding

2) SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm milk at night for 3 months =reduces uterine dryness, supports female hormones naturally, improves tissue nourishment

3) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm water at bedtime long term =improves metabolism, removes toxin buildup, prevents kapha accumulation , helps ovarian function indirectly

4) FEMCLAM SYRUP= usually 15ml twice daily short term 1-2 cycles only =if flow becomes very scanty, if uterine nourishment Is low, if hormonal irregularity persists NOT COMPULSORY IF CYCLES ARE STABLE

EXTERNAL THERAPIES

1) OIL MASSAGE -use warm sesame oil -apply on lower abdomen, lower back, thighs -3-4 times per week =reduces vata dryness, improves pelvic circulatio, supports healthy menstruation

2) HOT WATER FOMENTATION -warm compress on lower abdomen -10-15 min daily

DIET -warm, cooked foods -moong dal, massor dal -vegetables= pumpkin, carrot, bottle gourd -cow ghee 1 tsp daily -dates, soaked raisins -sesame seeds

AVOID -cold drinks -ice cream, bakery foods -excess cheese, panner -junk, fried food -skipping meals

IMPORTANT= light flow improves when digestion improves

LIFESTYLE CHANGES Your sedentary lifestyle is a major factor -30-45 min brisk walking daily -gently sweating is necessary -sleep before 11 pm

AVOID -daytime sleep -sitting continuously for long hours -excess screen time at night

YYOGA ASANAS -baddha konasana -malasana -bhujangasana -setu bandhasana

PRANAYAM -Aulom vilom= 10 min -Kapalbhati= 2 rounds slow -Bhramari= 5 rounds =improves ovarian blood flow, balances hormones, prevents cyst recurrence

HOME REMEDIES 1) Sesame seed + jaggery = 1 tsp daily in luteal phase -improves menstrual flow

2) GINGER TEA -once daily =improves circulation and digestion

3) SOAKED RAISINS -5-6 daily in morning

Your condition is manageable and reversible -Regular cycle is already a good sign -Medicines alone will not work without lifestyle change -Avoid self medication for Pcos -Ayurveda works best when diet, movement, and medicine are combined

With correct routine, PCOS does not need lifelong treatment

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

Since your periods have become regular but the flow is still low it indicates that your reproductive system is functioning better than before but there is still some imbalance in your hormonal and blood health Taking syrup without proper evaluation may not treatthe root cause and could sometimes disturb your body further In Ayurveda focus on nourishing blood ,improving hormonal balance and supporting ovary and uterine health through diet ,lifestyle and natural herbs ,Instead of starting Femclam syrup, it would be better to work on strengthening your digestion ensuring regular exercise daily walking oryoga, improving circulation and includ warm foods like cooked vegetables whole grains ghee and nuts . Gradually this approach helps your periods become regular

Hello I get why you’re worried. It’s confusing when you’re trying to gain weight, had PCOS before, and now have light periods, even though your scans are clear. It feels like your body isn’t quite right.

YOUR CONCERN

- You’re 47. - Had PCOS last year (tiny cysts on both ovaries). - Now, your ovaries look fine on scans. - Your periods come, but they’re super light. - You’ve been trying to gain weight for over six months. - You don’t eat at regular times. - And you’re wondering: Can Fem Calm help me gain weight? Is it even useful now that my PCOS is under control?

Why this is happening (from an Ayurvedic point of view):

At your age, it’s not really active PCOS. It’s more about: - Vata dominance increasing as you get older. - Your tissues (Rasa, Rakta, and Artava Dhatu) aren’t getting enough goodness. - Your digestion (Mandagni) is sluggish because you eat at weird times. - Your uterus isn’t getting enough nutrition, leading to light periods. - It’s hard to gain weight because your body isn’t building tissue well, not just because you’re not eating enough.

Think about this: Your ovaries might look normal, but getting older can mess with your digestion and raise your Vata, making it tough to gain weight and keep your period flow normal.

ABOUT FEM CALM (super important):

Will Fem Calm make me gain weight? No. Fem Calm is NOT for weight gain.

What Fem Calm actually does: - Helps balance hormones. - Helps with PCOS, PMS, anxiety, and mood swings. - Helps regulate your cycle.

Since: - Your PCOS isn’t active right now. - Your main goal is to gain weight and get more nourished.

Fem Calm won’t help you gain weight and isn’t what you need now.

What you actually need:

Focus on these things: - Making your digestion stronger. - Giving your tired tissues some love. - Fixing Vata imbalance. - Gaining weight in a healthy way. - Getting your period flow back to normal.

AYURVEDIC PLAN (safe for someone 47)

Take these for 3 months:

1. Ashwagandha Churna Half a teaspoon, twice a day with warm milk. - Boosts your appetite. - Helps with healthy weight gain. - Makes muscles and hormones stronger.

2. Shatavari Churna Half a teaspoon, twice a day with warm milk. - Nourishes Artava Dhatu (tissue). - Helps with period flow. - Balances female hormones.

3. Drakshasava 15 ml with the same amount of water, twice a day after meals. - Makes digestion better. - Helps you gain weight slowly. - Helps with blood creation and flow.

DIET PLAN

✅ INCLUDE

- Eat at set times (this is key). - Warm milk every day. - Ghee (1–2 teaspoons daily). - Rice, wheat, moong dal. - Dates, figs, soaked raisins. - Banana with milk. - Warm, homemade food.

❌ AVOID

- Skipping meals. - Cold food and drinks. - Too much tea or coffee. - Junk and packaged foods. - Eating late at night.

Lifestyle changes (super important):

- Eat every 3–4 hours. - Be in bed by 11 pm. - Try gentle yoga or walking. - Don’t overdo exercise. - Chill out and reduce stress.

Gaining weight healthily at your age is a slow but steady process, which is ideal.

Things to remember: - Light periods at 47 could just be peri-menopause, not a problem. - Focus on getting strong and nourished, not just forcing weight gain. - Skip unnecessary hormone products.

It’s great your PCOS is under control. Right now, your body just needs regular food, good digestion, and nourishment for your tissues, not hormone helpers like Fem Calm.

Stick to the right routine and Ayurvedic advice, and your weight, strength, and period comfort can naturally improve.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

🌿 What Femclam Syrup Is Used For - Ayurvedic uterine tonic: Supports hormonal balance and uterine health. - Indications: Irregular cycles, menstrual discomfort, weakness, and PCOS-related symptoms. - Ingredients (typical for such tonics): Shatavari, Ashoka, Lodhra, and other herbs that regulate hormones and improve uterine tone.

👉 Femclam syrup may help with hormonal balance and uterine strength, but it is not specifically designed to increase menstrual blood flow. If your main concern is light flow, dietary and lifestyle changes may be more effective than starting a tonic immediately.

🧘 Lifestyle & Home Remedies Since your lifestyle is sedentary, movement is crucial: - Yoga & Pranayama: Surya Namaskar, Setubandhasana, Anulom Vilom. - Diet: Flax seeds, sesame seeds, leafy greens, bitter vegetables (karela, methi), whole grains. - Herbal support: Shatavari powder (3 g with warm milk daily), Triphala at bedtime for detox. - Iron-rich foods: Beetroot, dates, jaggery, spinach to support blood flow.

⚠️ Risks & Considerations - Self-medication: Even Ayurvedic syrups can cause imbalance if taken unnecessarily. - Light flow: Can be normal, but if persistent, rule out anemia or uterine lining issues. - PCOS management: Lifestyle correction is more effective long-term than tonics alone.

Warm Regards DR. ANJALI SEHRAWAT

Yes, you can take Femclam Syrup now, but only if your main issue is light periods and you want to increase flow safely. Femclam Syrup is a classical herbal combination (Lodhra, Ashoka, Shatavari, etc.) – it is very safe for PCOS, helps regulate hormones, supports uterine lining & increases menstrual flow without side effects. Since your periods are now regular but light, it is a good supportive choice.

Recommended Dosage 2 tsp (10 ml) twice daily after meals with warm water (morning & night). Continue minimum 3 months (safe long-term) – flow usually improves in 1–2 cycles.

Add these for faster & complete results Femclam Syrup – as above (main for light flow). Shatavari Kalpa – 10 gm night with warm milk Kumaryasava – 15 ml + 30 ml warm water after lunch & dinner Kanchanar Guggulu – 2 tablets morning + night after food . Lifestyle Walk 30–45 min daily – break sedentary life (reduces insulin resistance, improves flow). Sleep 10 PM – 6 AM strictly. Stress reduction: Anulom-Vilom 10 min daily.

Diet Give daily: pomegranate, beetroot juice 100 ml, moong khichdi + ghee, thin buttermilk + roasted jeera. Avoid completely: sugar, maida, dairy after noon (except ghee/milk), junk food.
