Doctors' responses

Hello First off, thank you for being so open about your struggles. I get how tough it feels to try different products for weight gain, only to see the weight drop off again as soon as you stop. Honestly, it’s frustrating and can really wear you down. So let’s talk about this straight up—from an Ayurvedic perspective.

Why Won’t the Weight Stick? (Ayurveda’s Take)

If you’ve tried all sorts of tonics and nothing sticks, here’s what’s usually going on: - Your Agni (digestive fire) isn’t strong or steady enough. - Your tissues aren’t getting nourished as they should. - Vata is probably taking the lead in your system. - Any weight you did gain was likely just water or fat, not actual muscle (Mamsa dhatu).

In Ayurveda, real weight gain means building up your tissues step by step—Rasa to Rakta to Mamsa. It’s not about just feeling heavier for a while.

About Drakshasava & Kumaryasava Can Drakshasava and Kumaryasava help you gain weight? Honestly—no, that’s not what they’re for.

Drakshasava: - It helps with digestion and can make you feel less tired. - It’s mildly nourishing, but it’s not a muscle-builder.

Kumaryasava: - This one supports the liver and corrects metabolism. - People even use it for weight loss or hormonal issues, so it could actually stop you from gaining weight.

Mixing these two won’t help you gain weight—in fact, it could work against you.

Why Does the Weight Go Up Only While Using Products?

This usually happens because: - Products boost your appetite for a bit, but don’t fix the root problem (your Agni and Vata). - You’re not getting the right kind of strengthening (Brimhana) medicine. - Once you stop, the weight just drops off again.

This is super common, by the way.

The Real Way to Gain Weight (and Keep It)

1. Fix What’s Actually Wrong Even if you think your digestion is fine, Ayurveda digs deeper. The goal is to: - Fire up your Jatharagni (main digestive fire). - Boost Dhatu agni (the “digestive fire” in your tissues). - Calm down excess Vata.

2. Use the Right Medicines (Brimhana + Balya)

You’ll need to stick with these for at least 3–4 months.

- Ashwagandha Avaleha 1 tsp morning empty stomach - Vidarikand powder 1 tsp with warm milk - Shatavari kalp 1 tsp with warm milk once a day

3. Timing Is Everything A lot of people miss out because they: - Take medicine at the wrong time - Skip doses - Expect miracles in a month

Take medicine first thing in the morning (great for Agni) and at night with milk (that’s for building tissue).

Diet Tips You said your diet’s balanced, which is great. For weight gain, focus on: - Warm, fresh food - Rice, wheat, ghee, milk, curd (but have curd only in the day) - Black gram, green gram, potatoes, sweet potatoes - Eat before you get super hungry

Don’t: - Fast - Skip meals - Overdo tea or coffee

Lifestyle Stuff That Gets in the Way Take a good, honest look at your habits: - Are you sleeping late? - Overthinking or anxious a lot? - Doing too much physical activity? - Feeling stressed?

All of these can increase Vata and make it almost impossible to gain weight.

One Important Truth There’s no magic product for permanent weight gain. Gaining real, stable weight is a process, not a quick fix. If you lose weight after stopping medicine, it means the root cause still needs attention.

Don’t lose hope. Plenty of people have struggled with this and gone on to build up healthy weight once they got the right help. You’re not alone, and there’s a real solution out there with Ayurveda.

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Dr. Gursimran Jeet Singh
I am Dr. Gursimran Jeet Singh, born and raised in Punjab where culture and traditions almost naturally guided me toward Ayurveda. From very early days I felt more drawn to natural ways of healing, and this curiosity finally led me to pursue Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College, Chandigarh—an institution known for shaping strong Ayurvedic physicians. During those years I learned not only the classical texts and treatment methods, but also how to look at health through a very practical, human lense. For the past five years I worked in clinical practice, where patients come with wide range of concerns—from chronic digestion troubles to autoimmune illness—and I try to integrate both Ayurveda and modern medical knowledge to give them the most complete care I can. Sometimes western diagnostics help me to understand the stage of disease, while Ayurveda helps me design treatment that address root cause. This bridging approach is not always easy, but I believe it’s necessary for today’s health challanges. Currently I am also pursuing higher studies in Panchakarma therapy. Panchakarma is an area I feel very strongly about—it is not just detox, it is a whole system of cleansing, rejuvenation, rebalancing, and I want to deepen my expertise here. In practice, I combine Panchakarma with lifestyle guidance, diet planning, herbal remedies, yoga and mindfulness practices depending on what a patient actually needs at that moment. No two cases are same, and Ayurveda reminds me daily that healing must be personal. My approach is always focused on root-cause management rather than temporary relief. Diet, herbs, therapeutic oils, meditation routines, and simple daily habits—they all work together when chosen rightly. Sometimes results come slow, sometimes faster, but I try to keep care sustainable and compassionate. Helping someone regain energy, sleep better, or reduce pain, that is the real achievement in my journey. And I continue learning, because Ayurveda is deep, it doesn’t finish with one degree or one training, it grow with every patient and every experiance. My specialties lie in treating a range of chronic and lifestyle-related conditions using Ayurveda’s time-tested principles, tailored to each individual’s unique constitution (Prakriti). I have significant expertise in managing digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux, constipation, diabetes, obesity and inflammatory bowel diseases. I also specialize in addressing stress-related and mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, and burnout, which are increasingly common in today’s fast-paced world. By integrating therapies like Shirodhara (oil pouring on the forehead) to calm the nervous system, Abhyanga (herbal oil massages) to balance Vata dosha, and adaptogenic herbs like Ashwagandha and Brahmi, I help patients achieve mental clarity and emotional resilience. In the field of musculoskeletal and joint health, I excel in treating conditions like arthritis (rheumatoid and osteoarthritis), back pain, sciatica, and sports injuries. Using therapies such as Kati Basti (localized oil retention on the lower back) and potent anti-inflammatory herbs like Guggulu and Shallaki, I focus on reducing inflammation, improving joint mobility, and strengthening tissues. My treatments have helped many patients, particularly those seeking non-invasive alternatives, regain mobility and reduce pain through a blend of internal medications and external therapies. Skin disorders are another key area of my practice, where I address conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and pigmentation issues holistically. By focusing on blood purification and balancing Pitta dosha and detoxifying Panchakarma techniques like Raktamokshana (bloodletting). My approach targets dietary and lifestyle triggers, offering sustainable results for clients who previously relied on temporary solutions like topical steroids. My dual expertise in Ayurveda and modern medicine allows me to create integrative treatment plans that are both effective and safe. I am deeply committed to patient education, empowering individuals to embrace Ayurvedic principles for sustainable health. Through this online platform, I am excited to offer virtual consultations, making the profound benefits of Ayurveda accessible to all. Whether you seek relief from a specific condition or aim to enhance overall vitality, I look forward to guiding you on your journey to balance and well-being with compassion and expertise.

Yes, safe & commonly used together. Both are nourishing, improve appetite & digestion, support healthy weight gain without rebound loss when used correctly.

Most weight gain products are heavy/Kapha-increasing , cause temporary gain and when stopped, body returns to original metabolism (no real tissue building).

Correct Approach is to Focus on nourishing dhatus (muscle/fat tissue) + strong Agni + consistent calorie surplus.

Recommended Plan Medicines 1 Drakshasava – 15 ml + 30 ml warm water after lunch & dinner 2 Kumaryasava – 15 ml + 30 ml warm water after lunch & dinner (digestion + nourishment) ( Mix both in same glass if desired ) 3 Ashwagandha Lehyam – 10 gm night with warm milk + 1 tsp ghee 4 Chyawanprash (sugar-free) – 10 gm morning with warm milk.

Diet: Eat 5–6 small meals daily Breakfast: warm milk + ghee + 4 soaked almonds + 2 dates + banana

Lunch/Dinner: rice/roti + moong dal + sabzi + 2 tsp ghee Evening: milkshake (milk + banana + dates)

Night: warm milk + ghee before bed Add extra ghee (2–3 tsp total/day)

Daily Routine Strength training / bodyweight exercise 30 min 4–5 days/week Sleep 10 PM – 6 AM strictly No junk/empty calories

Drakshava + Kumarisava together is NOT good for weight gain. Why Kumarisava reduces fat & improves digestion → causes weight loss Drakshava is mild nourishing, but not strong enough alone Together → no weight gain, sometimes more loss Truth about weight-gain products Most “weight-gain” tonics give temporary water/fat gain When stopped → weight comes down again This means dhatu nourishment is not happening Correct Ayurvedic approach for real weight gain You need Brimhana + Rasayana, not digestive tonics. Simple Ayurvedic medicines for weight gain ✔ Ashwagandha lehyam – 1 tsp morning & night ✔ Shatavari churna – ½ tsp twice daily with warm milk ✔ Vidaryadi lehyam – 1 tsp twice daily ✔ Drakshadi lehyam – if digestion is weak

Mixing drakshava and kumarisava for weight gain is not the right approach and in most cases it can actually prevent healthy weight gain

Drakshava mainly improves digestion appetite blood quality and weakness due to anemia but it does not build muscle or tissue directly Kumarisava is more detoxifying and gut regulating in nature and in many people it increases metabolism and reduces heaviness which is opposite of what is needed for weight gain

When these two are mixed together the digestive fire may improve but tissue nourishment does not happen properly so weight may temporarily increase due to appetite but once the products are stopped the weight drops again

This explains why you gain a little while using products and lose weight immediately after stopping them

For permanent weight gain ayurveda focuses on improving digestion absorption and dhatu nourishment not just appetite

If digestion is weak or irregular no weight gain medicine will work long term

First digestion has to be stabilised then nourishing medicines are introduced and food timing sleep stress and meal quantity must be corrected

Using random weight gain products without correcting digestion only gives temporary results

Drakshava can be used alone if there is weakness poor appetite or anemia Kumarisava should be used only if there is constipation hormonal imbalance or sluggish digestion and usually not in underweight people

Mixing them together is not a classical recommendation. They act differently: Drakshasava is nourishing and mildly anabolic, while Kumaryasava is more metabolic and detoxifying. Taking them together may not directly promote weight gain, and could even counterbalance each other.

Ayurvedic Medicines Commonly Used for Healthy Weight Gain 1.Ashwagandha capsules 2 cap twice daily with warm milk after meals 2.Chyawanprash 1 tsp with warm milk empty stomach in the morning 3.Shatavari capsules 1 cap twice daily with warm milk after meals 4.Drakshasava (alone)-only if appetite is low -20 ml with 20 ml water twice daily after meals

Diet: - Add calorie‑dense but sattvic foods: dates, figs, soaked almonds, ghee, milk, paneer, moong dal khichdi. - Frequent small meals rather than large ones.

Routine: - Strength‑building yoga (surya namaskar, bhujangasana, dhanurasana). - Light resistance exercise to stimulate muscle growth.

Sleep: Adequate rest is crucial for anabolic processes.

HELLO,

You are eating properly digestion feels normal and you have tried many weight gain products, yet your body is not able to hold weight.Sometimes weight increases slightly while taking mediicnes, but once stoped, weight gain reduces

In Ayurveda, this condition is considered normal thinness, but a functional problem of nutrition not reaching the tissues properly

WHAT IS HAPPENING INSIDE YOUR BODY? Think of your body like a field -Food= seeds -Digestion= water -Tissues= crops

In your case -seeds are good (balanced diet) -water is flowing fast (stron or unstable digestion) -crops are not growing well (poor tissue nourishment)

So food is digested, but not converted into strong body tissues

In Ayurveda, this condition is commonly considered as -KARSHYA (under-nourishment) with -VISHAMA/ TIKSHNA AGNI (irregular or fast digestive fire) and -RASA-MAMSA DHATU KSHAYA (poor formation of body fluids and muscles)

That Is why -appetite may be okay -no bloating or gas -still weight does not increase sustainably

WHY WEIGHT GAIN PRODUCTS FAILED EARLIER Most weight gain medicines are rasayyana (nourishing tonics)

But Rasayana will work only when -digestion is stable -liver metabolism is corrected -channels (srotas) are open If Rasayana is taken without preparation, the body -absorbs partilalyy -gains temporary weight -loses it once medicine is stopped

This is exactly what you experienced

TREATMENT GOALS -stabilize digestion -improve absorption and metabolism -nourish tissues gradually -create long term weight retention -prevent rebound weight loss

TREATMENT PLAN

PHASE 1= DIGESTIVE AND METABOLIC PREPARATION MEDICINES USED

1) DRAKSHASAVA= 15ml + equal water after meals twice daily for 4 weeks =improves appetite naturally, nourishes rasa dhoti, reduces internal dryness, helps food convert into nutrition

2) KUMARYASAVA= 15ml with equal water twice daily after meals for 4 weeks =strengthens liver function, regulates metabolism , improves assimilation, prevents toxins

This phase prepares your body to accept nourishment

PHASE 2= After 4 weeks CORE WEIGHT GAIN AND TISSUE BUILDING (Main phase)

1) ASHWAGANDHA AVALEHA= 1 tsp twice daily with warm milk for 3 months =builds muscle mass, improves strength and stamina, reduces internal stress, helps stable weight gain

2) SHATAVARI KALPA = 1 tsp once daily with warm milk for 3 months =nourishes al seven dhatus improves fluid balance, prevents dryness and depletion, helps weight retention

3) VIDARIKAND CHURNA= 1 tsp once daily with honey for 3 months =true anabolic herb, especially useful for lean body types, improves muscle and fat formation

EXTERNAL THERAPY

1) OIL MASSAGE WITH BALA ASHWAGANDHA TAILA -Frequenc 3-4 times/week =improves circulation, nourishes tissue externally, reduces vata (main cause of weight loss), improves sleep

DIET -warm milk with ghee -rice with ghee -moong dal -panner -dates, figs, soaked raisins -banana with milk -almond paste -sesame seeds

AVOID -excess tea/coffee -dry foods -cold drinks -raw salads at night -skiping meals -junk and packaged food

FOOD MUST BE WARM, OILY, NOURISHING AND FRESHLY COOKed

HOME REMEDIES

1) MILK + DATES REMEDY -boil 2 dates in milk -take daily at night

2) ALMOND PASTE -soak 5 almonds overnight -peel, grind, mix with milk

3) GHEE INTAKE -1 tsp ghee daily with meals

LIFESTYLE CHANGES -sleep 7-8 hours -fixed meal timings -avoid late nights -avoid stress -no excessive physical exertion -light strength activities only

YOGA ASANAS -vajrasana -bhujangasana -paschimottanasana -shavasana

PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom -bhramari -deep abdominal breathing

Avoid excessive kapalbhati or fast breathing initially

EXPECTED RESULTS -Appetite improves in 2-3 weeks -Energy increases in 1 month -Visible weight gain in 6-8 weeks -Stable weight in 3 months

Weight gain in Ayurveda is not a quick process, but when done correctly -weight gain is natural -muscles become strong -fat is healthy -weight does NOT drop again

Do not stop medicines suddenly, gradual tapering is essential

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

Over these years, I’ve had the chance to treat over 1 lakh patients (probably more by now honestly), both through in-person consults and online. Some come in with a mild cough, others with conditions no one’s been able to figure out for years. Each case brings its own rhythm, and that’s where real Ayurveda begins. I still rely deeply on classical tools — *Nadi Pariksha*, *Roga-Rogi Pariksha*, proper *prakriti-vikriti* mapping — not just ticking symptoms into a list. I don’t believe in ready-made cures or generic charts. Diagnosis needs attention. I look at how the disease behaves *inside* that specific person, which doshas are triggering what, and where the imbalance actually started (hint: it’s usually not where the pain is). Over the years I’ve worked with pretty much all age groups and all kinds of health challenges — from digestive upsets & fevers to chronic, autoimmune, hormonal, metabolic and degenerative disorders. Arthritis, diabetes, PCOD, asthma, thyroid... but also things like unexplained fatigue or joint swelling that comes and goes randomly. Many of my patients had already “tried everything else” before they walked into Ayurveda, and watching their systems respond slowly—but surely—is something I don’t take lightly. My line of treatment usually combines herbal formulations (classical ones, not trendy ones), Panchakarma detox when needed, and realistic dietary and lifestyle corrections. Long-term healing needs long-term clarity — not just short bursts of symptom relief. And honestly, I tell patients that too. I also believe patient education isn’t optional. I explain things. Why we’re doing virechana, why the oil changed mid-protocol, why we pause or shift the meds after a few weeks. I want people to feel involved, not confused. Ayurveda works best when the patient is part of the process, not just receiving instructions. Even now I keep learning — through texts, talks, patient follow-ups, sometimes even mistakes that taught me what not to do. And I’m still committed, still fully into it. Because for me, this isn’t just a job. It’s a lifelong responsibility — to restore balance, protect *ojas*, and help each person live in tune with themselves. That’s the real goal.

Dr. Manjula
I am an Ayurveda practitioner who’s honestly kind of obsessed with understanding what really caused someone’s illness—not just what hurts, but why it started in the first place. I work through Prakruti-Vikruti pareeksha, tongue analysis, lifestyle patterns, digestion history—little things most ppl skip over, but Ayurveda doesn’t. I look at the whole system and how it’s interacting with the world around it. Not just, like, “you have acidity, take this churna.” My main focus is on balancing doshas—Vata, Pitta, Kapha—not in a copy-paste way, but in a very personalized, live-and-evolving format. Because sometimes someone looks like a Pitta imbalance but actually it's their aggravated Vata stirring it up... it’s layered. I use herbal medicine, ahar-vihar (diet + daily routine), lifestyle modifications and also just plain conversations with the patient to bring the mind and body back to a rhythm. When that happens—healing starts showing up, gradually but strongly. I work with chronic conditions, gut imbalances, seasonal allergies, emotional stress patterns, even people who just “don’t feel right” anymore but don’t have a name for it. Prevention is also a huge part of what I do—Ayurveda isn’t just for after you fall sick. Helping someone stay aligned, even when nothing feels urgent, is maybe the most powerful part of this science. My entire practice is rooted in classical Ayurvedic texts—Charaka, Sushruta, Ashtanga Hridayam—and I try to stay true to the system, but I also speak to people where they’re at. That means making the treatments doable in real life. No fancy lists of herbs no one can find. No shloka lectures unless someone wants them. Just real healing using real logic and intuition together. I care about precision in diagnosis. I don’t rush that part. I take time. Because one wrong assumption and you’re treating the shadow, not the source. And that’s what I try to avoid. My goal isn’t temporary relief—it’s to teach the body how to not need constant fixing. When someone walks away lighter, clearer, more in tune with their system—that’s the actual win.

Dr. Maitri Bhavesh Kumar Acharya
I am Dr. Maitri, currently in my 2nd year of MD in Dravyaguna, and yeah, I run my own Ayurvedic clinic in Ranoli where I’ve been seeing patients for 2 years now. Honestly, what pulled me into this path deeper is how powerful herbs really are—when used right. Not just randomly mixing churnas but actually understanding their rasa, virya, vipaka etc. That’s kinda my zone, where textbook knowledge meets day-to-day case handling. My practice revolves around helping people with PCOD, acne, dandruff, back pain, stiffness in knees or joints that never seem to go away. And I don’t jump to giving a long list of medicines straight away—first I spend time figuring out their prakriti, their habits, food cycle, what triggers what… basically all the small stuff that gets missed. Then comes the plan—herbs (single or compound), some diet reshuffling, and always some lifestyle nudges. Sometimes they’re tiny, like sleep timing. Sometimes big like proper seasonal detox. Being into Dravyaguna helps me get into the depth of herbs more confidently. I don’t just look at the symptom—I think okay what guna will counter this? Should the drug be snigdha, ushna, tikta? Is there a reverse vipaka that’ll hurt the agni? I ask these questions before writing any combo. That’s made a huge diff in outcomes. Like I had this case of chronic urticaria that would flare up every week, and just tweaking the herbs based on sheetala vs ushna nature... helped calm the system in 3 weeks flat. Not magic, just logic. I also work with women who are struggling with hormonal swings, mood, delayed periods or even unexplained breakouts. When hormones go haywire, the skin shows, digestion slows, and mind gets foggy too. I keep my approach full-circle—cleansing, balancing, rejuvenating. No quick fixes, I tell them early on. What I’m hoping to do more of now is make Ayurveda feel practical. Not overwhelming. Just simple tools—ahara, vihara, aushadha—used consistently, with some trust in the body’s own healing. I’m still learning, still refining, but honestly, seeing people feel in control of their health again—that’s what keeps me rooted to this.

Dr. Jatin Kumar Sharma
I am a BAMS graduate and currently running my own clinic, where I see patients on a regular basis and try to give them honest, practical care. My daily work involves understanding different health concerns, listening properly to what the patient is going through, and then planning treatment in a way that actually fits their routine. I believe treatment should not feel confusing or rushed, and sometimes even small changes make a big difference. Running my own clinic has taught me a lot about responsibility and consistency. Some days are busy, some are slow, but every patient brings a different challenge and learning. I focus mainly on Ayurvedic treatment methods, lifestyle correction and long-term health balance, rather than quick fixes. There are times when progress takes longer, but I stay patient and keep working with the person step by step. I try to keep my approach simple, practical and honest. For me, real success is when a patient feels better in daily life, sleeps better, eats better and slowly regains balance. That is what keeps me going and improving every day.

Dr. Ravi Chandra Rushi
I am working right now as a Consultant Ayurvedic Ano-Rectal Surgeon at Bhrigu Maharishi Ayurvedic Hospital in Nalgonda—and yeah, that name’s quite something, but what really keeps me here is the kind of cases we get. My main focus is managing ano-rectal disorders like piles (Arsha), fistula-in-ano (Bhagandara), fissure-in-ano (Parikartika), pilonidal sinus, and rectal polyps. These are often more complex than they look at first, and they get misdiagnosed or overtreated in a lotta places. That’s where our classical tools come in—Ksharasutra therapy, Agnikarma, and a few other para-surgical techniques we follow from the Samhitas...they’ve been lifesavers honestly. My work here pushes me to keep refining surgical precision while also sticking to the Ayurvedic core. I do rely on modern diagnostics when needed, but I won’t replace the value of a well-done Nadi Pariksha or assessing dosha-vikruti in depth. Most of my patients come with pain, fear, and usually after a couple of rounds of either incomplete surgeries or just being fed painkillers n antibiotics. And I totally get that frustration. That’s why I combine surgery with a whole support plan—Ayurvedic meds, diet changes, lifestyle tweaks that actually match their prakriti. Not generic stuff off a handout. Over time, I’ve seen that when people follow the whole protocol, not just the procedure part, the recurrence drops a lot. I’m quite particular about follow-up and wound care too, ‘cause we’re dealing with delicate areas here and ignoring post-op can ruin outcomes. Oh and yeah—I care a lot about educating folks too. I talk to patients in OPD, sometimes give community talks, just to tell people they do have safer options than cutting everything out under GA! I still study Shalya Tantra like it’s a living document. I try to stay updated with whatever credible advancements are happening in Ayurvedic surgery, but I filter what’s fluff and what’s actually useful. At the end of the day, my aim is to offer respectful, outcome-based care that lets patients walk out without shame or fear. That’s really what keeps me grounded in this field.

Dr. Snehal Vidhate
I am Dr. Snehal Vidhate, born n brought up in Maharashtra—and honestly, for as long as I remember I’ve felt this pull towards Ayurveda. Not the fancy version ppl throw around, but the deep, real kind that actually helps ppl. I did my BAMS from YMT Ayurvedic Medical College in Kharghar. That’s where I got my basics strong—like really studied the shastras, understood prakriti, doshas, the whole deal. Not just crammed theory but started to see how it shows up in real lives. After finishing BAMS, I got into this one-year certificate course at Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, Delhi—honestly a turning point. I was super lucky to learn Kerala Ayurveda from my Guru, Prof. Dr. G.G. Gangadharan. He’s got this way of seeing things... simple but deep. That time with him taught me more than any textbook ever could. It kinda reshaped how I look at health, healing n how precise Ayurveda can be when you respect its roots. Right now I’m doing my MD in Panchakarma from SDM Ayurveda College, Bangalore. This place is like a hub for serious Ayurveda work. The Panchakarma training here? Super intense. We go deep into detoxification & rasayana therapy—not just theory again, but hands-on. I’m learning to blend classical techniques with today’s clinical demands.. like how to make Vamana or Basti actually doable in modern patient setups. My current practice is really about merging tradition with logic. Whether it’s chronic skin issues, gut problems, stress burnout or hormone stuff—my goal is to get to the root, not just hush the symptoms. I use Panchakarma when needed, but also a lot of ahara-vihara tweaks, medhya herbs, sometimes just slowing ppl down a bit helps. I really believe Ayurveda’s power is in its simplicity when done right. I don’t try to fix ppl—I work *with* them. And honestly, every patient teaches me something back.

Dr. Nayan Wale
I am working in medical field for total 7 years, out of which around 4 years was in hospital setup and 3 years in clinic practice. Hospital work gave me strong base, long duty hours, different type of cases, emergencies sometimes, and learning under pressure. Clinic work is different, slower but deeper, where I sit with patients, listen more, explain things again n again, and follow them over time. In hospital I handled day to day OPD cases, routine management, and also assisted seniors when things got complicated. That phase shaped my clinical thinking a lot, even now I sometimes catch myself thinking like hospital mode when a case looks serious. Clinic practice on the other hand taught me patience. Patients come with chronic issues, expectations, doubts, sometimes fear, and I had to adjust my approach accordingly. I focus on practical treatment planning, not just diagnosis on paper. Some days I feel I should have more time with each patient, but I try to balance it. My experience across hospital and clinic helps me understand both acute care and long term disease management. I still keep learning everyday, reading, observing patterns, correcting myself when needed, because medicine never stays same for long, and neither should the doctor.

Dr. Sara Garg
I am someone who believes Ayurveda isn’t just some old system — it’s alive, and actually still works when you use it the way it's meant to be used. My practice mostly revolves around proper Ayurvedic diagnosis (rogi & roga pariksha types), Panchakarma therapies, and ya also a lot of work with herbal medicine — not just prescribing but sometimes preparing stuff myself when needed. I really like that hands-on part actually, like knowing where the herbs came from and how they're processed... changes everything. One of the things I pay a lot of attention to is how a person's lifestyle is playing into their condition. Food, sleep, bowel habits, even small emotional patterns that people don't even realize are affecting their digestion or immunity — I look at all of it before jumping to treatment. Dietary therapy isn’t just telling people to eat less fried food lol. It’s more about timing, combinations, seasonal influence, and what suits their prakriti. That kind of detail takes time, and sometimes patients don’t get why it matters at first.. but slowly it clicks. Panchakarma — I do it when I feel it's needed. Doesn’t suit everyone all the time, but in the right case, it really clears the stuck layers. But again, it's not magic — people need to prep properly and follow instructions. That's where strong communication matters. I make it a point to explain everything without dumping too much Sanskrit unless they’re curious. I also try to keep things simple, like I don’t want patients feeling intimidated or overwhelmed with 10 things at once. We go step by step — sometimes slow, sometimes quick depending on the case. There’s no “one protocol fits all” in Ayurveda and frankly I get bored doing same thing again and again. Whether it’s a fever that won’t go or long-term fatigue or gut mess — I usually go deep into what's behind it. Surface-level fixes don’t last. I rather take the time than rush into wrong herbs. It’s more work, ya, but makes a diff in long run.

I am a fresher doctor stepping into practice with lot of curiosity and some nervousness too if i’m honest. My training gave me a foundation in Ayurveda principles, where health is not just the absence of illness but a balance between doshas, agni, dhatu & mind. I might not carry decades of expereince yet, but I hold patience and dedication which sometimes matter more than numbers. During study years I worked through cases of common disorders, watching how small changes in ahara-vihara and simple herbal formulations could transform patient comfort. It showed me that ayurveda is not about complicate plans but about restoring rhythm of body. I keep strong interest in musculoskeletal disorders like joint pain, stiffness, backache, where lifestyle corrections plus treatments like abhyanga, swedana and panchakarma therapies show amazing recovery. Also conditions of women health—PCOD, infertility, menstrual irregularities—are areas I want to focus deeply, as these affect daily living so much yet often stay under-discussed. I also learned about auto-immune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, aamavata, psoriatic arthritis, how tricky they are, and I feel motivated to study and treat them further with careful, step by step methods. As a fresher, I know my journey just starting. I am still shaping my skills, still questioning which approach work best, sometimes even re-checking basic things twice. But I believe this stage is also strength, because I come with open mind, no rigid habits, and eagerness to listen. I do not rush into decisions, rather I take time to observe each case, to connect symptoms with underlying dosha imbalance. I feel each patient teach something new and every treatment outcome is like a page added in my learning. I may not be perfect yet, but I am commited to honesty in my care, keeping focus on natural healing, preventive health, and respecting both modern diagnostics and traditional ayurveda wisdom. For me it is about building trust slowly, showing patients that even a fresher can hold responsibility with sincerity, and growing together step by step.

Dr. Sumit Tasgaonkar
I am Dr. Sumit S. Tasgaonkar — a BAMS doc who also went on to complete MS in Ayurveda surgery, along with CGO and PGDEMS. Kinda feels like I’m always learning. And maybe that’s what keeps me grounded — balancing classical Ayurvedic wisdom with real-time medical emergencies or even modern diagnostic tools. I don’t see these systems as opposites... for me, they compliment each other when you look closely enough. My work mostly revolves around chronic diseases, metabolic issues, lifestyle mess (and there’s plenty of it these days), and women’s health conditions — PCOS, hormonal imbalance, gynec stuff that needs long-term attention. I use Panchakarma, herbal meds, diet correction, sometimes just shifting someone’s daily habits does more than we expect. But it’s never one-size-fits-all. I take a lot of time getting to the root cause — dosha imbalance, agni disturbance, whatever is underneath the visible stuff. Patients dealing with arthritis, stress, skin flareups, digestion trouble — I’ve seen all of that and more. And every case teaches something new. I’m super keen on tracking progress too. Like we keep tweaking, adjusting as per prakriti and vikriti, not just protocol-for-all. And honestly, the most satisfying part? when patients tell me they feel like themselves again. I started Tasgaonkar Medical Foundation with a big dream of bringing authentic Ayurveda to more people, esp. rural areas where choices are limited. We still keep prices fair and try not to compromise on classical principles. Accessibility doesn’t mean diluting the science — that’s always been important to me. What I really want is to see more people actually understand their health. Not just pop pills or mask symptoms. I wanna give them the tools — through knowledge, through food, through breath — to live lighter and healthier. And ya, sometimes it’s messy, sometimes you doubt, sometimes you adjust everything mid-plan... but that's Ayurveda too. Listening, observing, and flowing with the body, not against it.
