Consulting the ayuevedic pediatric specialist for better examination and treatment
Anemia in toddlers (where a hemoglobin level of 10 g/dL is considered mild) is common during growth spurts. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is often viewed through the lens of Pandu Roga, which relates to an imbalance in Rasa Dhatu (nutrient plasma) and Rakta Dhatu (blood). 1. Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Diet is the most sustainable way to build “Rakta” (blood). •Pomegranate (Dadima): This is one of the best fruits for blood health. Give 50-100ml of fresh juice daily, preferably at room temperature. •Black Raisins (Draksha): Soak 5–10 black raisins in water overnight. Mash them and give the water/pulp to the child in the morning. This is a natural iron source and aids digestion. 2. Supportive Ayurvedic Formulations For a child this age, dosages must be precise and formulations should be palatable. •Dhatri Loha: A classical formulation containing Amla and Iron. For a 2.5-year-old, a very small dose (around 125mg) mixed with honey twice a day after meals is often used. •Arvindasava: 5ml medicine+ 5 ml water and mix well and take both time after food this is a general tonic for children that improves appetite and digestion. Better digestion ensures the iron from food is actually absorbed.
