Hi. Thanks for this opportunity I used a glitter lip gloss and it burnt my lips within minutes of application. It's been almost 8 years since and it's still dark. I've applied coconut oil and butter. Tried apple cider vinegar on my lips. No results I always apply vasaline as a barrier to use make up

It sounds like you experienced a chemical or allergic reaction from that glitter lip gloss, which may have damaged the delicate skin of your lips and caused post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Since it's persisted for 8 years, it's unlikely to resolve without targeted treatment. Try1. Gentle Lip Care Routine Stop using harsh products (like apple cider vinegar) on your lips—it can worsen pigmentation and sensitivity. Use a mild lip scrub 1–2 times per week made from honey and fine sugar to gently exfoliate. Hydrate constantly – keep lips moisturized with pure petroleum jelly, lanolin balm, or ghee. Start Topical Treatments (Safe for Lips) 1.Vitamin E oil (natural, not synthetic) helps regenerate skin. 2.Licorice extract or kojic acid-based lip balms help lighten pigmentation gradually. 3.Niacinamide (2-5%) – anti-inflammatory and helps reduce pigmentation. (Make sure it’s a lip-safe formulation.)
