Online Consultation for Rheumatoid Arthritis – My Wife’s Condition (Age 57) - #23525

Anil

Namaste Doctor, I would like to share details of my wife's ongoing health condition for your guidance and support in seeking a sustainable Ayurvedic solution alongside her current allopathic treatment. • Age: 57 years • Primary condition: Rheumatoid arthritis for over a decade, with some deformity in the fingers (swan neck type). The condition is gradually becoming more painful when doing harder tasks, such as those requiring a firm grip or sustained hand effort. • She also has a Baker’s cyst behind the right knee with noticeable swelling in the knee area, which sometimes makes it difficult to bend the knee, though it occasionally improves. • We would appreciate your advice on: Any Ayurvedic herbs, external applications, or local treatments that can provide short-term relief from the knee pain/swelling and finger joint pain as well as a long-term plan to support joint health, reduce deformity progression, and manage inflammation in both the hands and knees. • Frequent headaches that do not respond well to paracetamol. • Gallstones have been present for over 20 years but have remained asymptomatic for more than 10 years. • She has been on prednisone and methotrexate for the past 13 years. However, methotrexate causes severe nausea, and she has often had to stop it after a few months. • Despite this long-term medication, her symptoms persist and continue to progress. • When she tries to reduce or stop prednisone, the pain becomes unbearable. • Mental and emotional state: She often feels irritable and emotionally drained. • Sleep issues: Difficulty falling asleep, often tossing and turning until around 1 AM, and then only sleeps for 4–5 hours. We are looking for an Ayurvedic protocol that: • Can be taken safely alongside her allopathic medicines; • Helps reduce pain, inflammation, and dependence on steroids; • Supports long-term relief and slows or halts disease progression; • If possible, promotes gradual reversal of the deformities and systemic imbalances; • Also helps with mental calmness and better sleep. We would be grateful for your kind advice on a suitable herbal regimen and lifestyle recommendations that can be sustainably followed. Thank you! Anil

Namaste Anil ji

Thank you for reaching out and trusting this platform with your wife’s long-standing health journey

I truly understand how exhausting it can be when chronic pain becomes a daily part of life, especially when medication bring only partial relief and their own set of side effects

You have mentioned that your wife is having rheumatoid arthritis with the finger deformities Baker cyst with knee swelling unable to bend me sometimes Headache, difficulty in sleeping and long term of steroid use

It’s clear her system needs, not just pain relief, but deep, calming, detoxification, and nourishment of the joints, mind and immune response

Ayurveda works gently, but deeply on all these levels, and I’ll guide you with the protocol that can safely go alongside her current alopathi medication

She can start on -

Simhanada guggulu- Kanchanar guggulu - Medha vati - One tablet each twice daily after food with warm water Ashwagandha churna- 1/2 teaspoon with warm milk at night Saraswathi aristha- Dashamoola aristha-2 teaspoon each with equal quantity of water twice daily after food

Mahanarayana taila-gentle massage over the joints

As you know, we should not suddenly stop or reduce steroids, but along with Ayurvedic medicine letter, take alopathi medicines too, after 3 to 4 weeks. Once we see the reduction in pain, we can taper th the steroid dose, and then gradually we can stop it

Ayurveda always look at the mind and body together along with the above medicines, let her practice, Pranayam meditation Yoga daily

Diet restrictions

Avoid curd, cold food, leftover food, and heavy to digest food, especially at night Warm water throughout the day Dinner before 8 PM

Let us start this medication within 3 to 4 weeks. She may start seeing reduced stiffness, improve sleep, and little bit of easy movement

And usually with rheumatoid arthritis, there will be digestion related issues. Please let me know if he has any digestion related issues so that I can add medicines.

I didn’t dump too many medicines at a time. According to the symptoms we can modify or add on the medicine if required.

It takes time, but surely will be having a good result

It’s clear that she has been managing a long-standing and complex condition, and your care and thoughtfulness in seeking an integrative Ayurvedic approach is admirable. as you have amazingly explained your wife condition here i am providing you treatment for this condition- in ayurveda RA is called amavata at first ama accumulates in the body by sedentry lifestyle and food after it cause various disease as RA So to treat this disease from route level we have to reduce ama by amapachan medicines, therepies ,intermittent fasting ,yoga and meditation. for it you should visit a ayurvedic hospital like AIIA Delhi or ITRA Jamnagar where you can learn what to eat or not properly according to bodytype . for shortterm relief you can simply start with 1. Chitrkadi vati 1-0-1 2.castor oil 1 tsf with warm water or milk at bed time 3.Mahayograj guggulu 1-0-1 4.Ruksh swedan therepy(dry sudation) take a clean sand /rock salt->heat it at low flame ->fill in a cotton cloth ->tie tightly apply on swolen or stiff joints

Diet - take light and fiber rich diet avoid spicy and oily food lifestyle avoid daysleeping pranayama-if it possible to practice bhramari pranyama regularly

Note-for long panchkarma theripes are the best option

NAMASTE ANIL JI,

Your wife is experiencing Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is a long-term joint disease. In Ayurveda, this condition is called

AMAVATA- It is a combination od two waords -AMA= undigested, sticky toxins produced due to poor digestion -VATA= one of the three doshas, responsible for movement, pain, dryness, and nerve function.

HOW IT DEVELOPS ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA- 1)WEAK DIGESTION= her digestive fire becomes weak due to lifestyle, stress, or wrong diet

2)AMA FORMATION(toxin buildup)= undigested food turns into a sticky substance and stays in the gut

3)AMA ENTERS THE BLOOD= Ama (sticky substance) through the body, especially to weak areas like joints

4)VATA GETS DISTURBED= the body airs principle(vata) becomes imbalanced due to cold, dryness

5)AMA+VATA SETTLE IN JOINTS= the sticky ama + dry vata block channels-causing pain and swelling

6)CHRONIC JOINT DAMAGE AND DEFORMITY= overtime, this causes bone, muscle and joint destruction

This is exactly what’s happening with your wife: -stiffness, pain, deformity in fingers-Swan neck -Knee swelling due to baker’s cyst -Tired digestion, nausea, reliance on steroids -Mental irritation, poor sleep, emotional fatigue

when improperly digested food produces AMA, combines with vitiated Vata, it leads to severe joint pain, stiffness

SYMPTOMS- body ache, loss of appetite, thirst, mild fever or heat sensation, joint pain, stiffness this matches your wife’s condition closely- -chronic inflammation(from toxin(ama)) -autoimmune like pain and swelling(vata-ama together) -sleep and mood issues(vata imbalance+long-term steroid impact)

TREATMENT IS FOCUSED ON

1)REMOVING AMA(TOXINS)= by improving digestion and metabolism 2)BALANCING VATA= through oiling, calming, nourishing treatment 3)STRENGTHENING AGNI= the digestive fire, to stop new toxins from forming 4)SUPPORTING TISSUES= rasayana treatment to nourish joints 5)SOOTHING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM= for sleep, mood, and mental calmness

DAILY ROUTINE TO FOLLOW WITH MEDICATIONS PRESCRIBED ACCORDING TO TIME

6:30 AM- drink 1 glass warm water with a pinch of dry ginger or ajwain= it removes toxins and improves digestion

7:00 AM- take 1 tablet SIMHANADA GUGGULU + 1 TABLET YOGARAJ GUGGULU= reduces joint swelling, removes toxins

7:30 AM= eat light breakfast (fruit or moong dal boiled made soup etc)= easy to digest and anti-inflammatory

10:30AM- take ASHWAGANDHA CAPSULE AND GUDUCHI CAPSULE(1 EACH)= builds strength and reduces inflammation

1:00PM- lunch: rice, moong dal, cooked soft veggies, ghee= light and nourishing , helps reduce joint pain

4:00PM- herbal tea: coriander+fennel+cumin tea= improves digestion and reduces gas

6:00PM- take same 1 SIMHANADA GUGGULU + 1 YOGARAJ GUGGULU= continues anti-inflammatory action

6:30PM- light dinner-soup, rice porridge, soft veggies= light food for easy digestion

8:30PM- warm milk+1 capsule of Brahmi or jatamansi= helps with better sleep and mental calmness

9:00PM- gentle oil massage on feet with sesame oil= improves sleep and calms the nerves

9:30PM- breathe slowly(deep breathing/anulom vilom for 10 min)= reduces anxiety, improves oxygen, helps sleep

in short 1)SIMHANADA GUGGULU- 1 tab twice daily morning or evening= removes toxins and reduce swelling in joints 2)YOGARAJ GUGGULU- 1 tab twice daily morning or evening= improves circulation in joints, reduces pain 3)ASHWAGANDHA CAPSULE- 1 cap daily mid-morning= strengthen body, calms mind, supports hormones 4)GUDUCHI CAPSULE- 1 cap daily mid-morning= immune support, lowers inflammation 5)BRAHMI OR JATAMANSI- 1 cap at night with warm milk= better sleep, less anxiety and emotional tiredness

EXTERNAL APPLICATION -Use MAHANARAYAN TAILA- to gently massage her knees fingers and lower back how- warm 1-2 tsp, gentle massage, keep for 30 mins then take a warm water bath or wipe with warm towel At least 3-4 times a week, preferably in the morning this helps reduce stiffness and improves joint flexibility

DIET PLAN- WHAT TO EAT AND AVOID

EAT GRAINS- warm rice, red rice, oats, barley PULSES- moong dal, thin khichdi VEGETABLES- bottle gourd, ridge gourd, spinach(cooked), pumpkin SPICES- turmeric, cumin, ginger, ajwain FATS- homemade ghee, sesame oil DRINKS- warm water, ginger tea, fennel tea

AVOID THESE(increase pain and swelling) SOUR/FERMENTED- curd, buttermilk, pickles, vinegar NIGHTSHADES- tomatoes, potatoes, brinjal HEAVY FOOD- fried food, junk food, maida, cold food COLD. THINGS- ice creams, cold water, fridge food EXCESS PULSES- rajma, chana, urad dal(gas forming)

YOGA AND PRANAYAM -do gentle stretches daily- even sitting on a chair -TADASANA=standing straight with arms up -MARJARYASANA= cat-cow pose -BHUJANGASANA=cobra pose- very gently -VRIKSHASANA= supports balance, joint engagement -SUPTA MATSYENDRASANA= spinal twist for detox and circulation -LEG STRETCH=lying down, raising legs gently

BREATHING(DO DAILY BEFORE SLEEP) -ANULOM-VILOM= 5-10 min(alternate nostril) -BHRAMARI(humming sound)- 5 min -CHANDRA BHEDANA-5 min(left nostril) these calm the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and support better sleep

FOR SLEEP ISSUES -drink warm milk with brahmi or jatamansi capsule at night -massage sesame oil on soles before bed -keep lights dim after 8 pm, avoid screen -can also can’t “OM” or playing soft calming music

-Expose joints to early morning sun-improves mood and vitamin D -Avoid daytime naps- increase kapha and ama -no screen time after sunset- helps sleep melatonin rise

-Do not stop methotrexate or prednisone suddenly; introduce Ayurveda slowly -work with allopathic doctor to monitor inflammatory markers(CRP,ESR) and adjust medication as her condition improves -Avoid heavy detox(panchakarma) unless under supervision

DO FOLLOW CONSISTENTLY FOR 3-4 MONTHS

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

Thank you Anil ji for such a detailed history about your wife’s condition. I can understand what pain she must be bearing due to rheumatoid arthritis. But dont worry we are here to help you out.

Can you please also provide about her recent blood reports 1. Cbc with esr 2. Crp 3. RA factor

As you must be knowing Rheumatoid Arthritis is a auto immune disorder so here strengthining her immune system plays an important role.

AUURVEDIC PERSEPECTIVE Rheumatoid arthritis is similar to Aamvata. Her every joint becomes inflammed with swelling and stiffness. She must be facing severe morining stiffness. Here vata and kapha are two main vitiated doshas which further hamper her joints. Minimizing or balancing vitiated doshas and strengthening the joint area is key factor involved in Ayurvedic treatment

As her condition is more proggessed towards bone deformity so the treatmemt will take time and also as she is depenedent on steroids so tapering it down is also important.

What you can expect from this treatment 1. Her pain will reduce. 2. Stiffness will be relieved 3. Normalizing her bone deformity will take take and regualar panchakarma 4. Her sleep will improve

Anil ji i will strongly suggest to go to any panchakarma center get her panchakarma therapy done once in 3 months 1. First 2 days - udwaratana 2. Dhanymla dhara 3. From 3rd day - sarvanga abhynga with mahanarayana thaila follwed by dashmool. Parisheka 4. Vaitarana basti ( enema) course

This basti will definately help her to improve her condition. Internal medication 1. Maharasnayograj guggulu kashyam 15ml-0-15ml +45 ml water before breakfast and dinner 2. Simhanada guggulu 2-0-2 after breakfasta and dinner. 3. Trilokya vijaya vati 1-0-1 after food 4. GT cap 2 at bed time

External treatment 1. Mahanarayana taila - warm oil massage on both hands and stretch a little daily. For 10-15 mins.

Diet modification 1. Avoid reheated food, curd, fried items 2. Urad dal 3. Take more of millets, fruit juices

Hope you found this helpful!! Wish you and your wife good health!!

Regards Dr snehal vidhate Bams, Md Sch( panchakarma)

I am especially passionate about preventive healthcare and believe in educating patients on seasonal routines (ritucharya), daily regimens (dinacharya), and holistic wellness practices. I emphasize open communication and empathetic consultation, ensuring that each patient feels heard, supported, and motivated throughout their healing journey. My clinical background, combined with continuous learning, has helped me maintain a high standard of care and build lasting trust with my patients. I believe true healing comes not only from treating symptoms but by restoring harmony between body, mind, and spirit—the core philosophy of Ayurveda.

For your wife’s condition, addressing it from an Ayurvedic perspective focuses on balancing Vata and Kapha dosha disturbances, which are often implicated in rheumatoid arthritis and joint issues. Begin by incorporating a few tailored solutions that harmonize with her current allopathic treatment.

Firstly, considering her rheumatoid arthritis with associated pain, herbs like Guggulu and Ashwagandha can be beneficial. Guggulu is renowned in Ayurveda for its anti-inflammatory properties, while Ashwagandha strengthens and supports overall joint health. A formulation to consider is ‘Yograj Guggulu’, to be taken under supervision, at doses suitable based on her specific needs. For external application, warm applications of Mahanarayan oil can be gently massaged over joints, especially before a warm bath. This can help soothe pain and stiffness, but remember to use it cautiously as excessive massage may cause more harm than good in inflamed areas.

Regarding Baker’s cyst, a warm compress may provide temporary relief, but you might want to explore specific Panchakarma therapies, which can help reduce systemic inflammation. Procedures like Janu Basti (for the knee area) can help replenish synovial fluid and relieve pain. Consulting a local Ayurvedic practitioner will ensure these treatments are personalized and safe.

For headaches and sleep disturbances, try adding Brahmi and Jatamansi powder; these herbs can promote mental calmness and deeper sleep. A teaspoon of Brahmi with warm milk before bed can be soothing. Nasya therapy, involving a few drops of medicated oil like Anu Taila in each nostril in the morning, might help too.

Encourage a Vata-pacifying diet, emphasizing warm, cooked, and easily digestible foods. Avoid cold, raw, and processed items, as these can aggravate her condition. Daily routines like regular sleep timings, gentle yoga, and meditation can help manage her irritability and improve overall balance.

While Ayurvedic remedies can be supportive, it’s crucial to continue her prescribed allopathic medications and consult her doctor before making any significant changes. Collaborating with both an Ayurvedic practitioner and her current healthcare provider will provide a comprehensive approach, catering to her holistic well-being.

Dr. Ayush Varma
I am an Ayurvedic physician with an MD from AIIMS—yeah, the 2008 batch. That time kinda shaped everything for me... learning at that level really forces you to think deeper, not just follow protocol. Now, with 15+ years in this field, I mostly work with chronic stuff—autoimmune issues, gut-related problems, metabolic syndrome... those complex cases where symptoms overlap n patients usually end up confused after years of going in circles. I don’t rush to treat symptoms—I try to dig into what’s actually causing the system to go off-track. I guess that’s where my training really helps, especially when blending classical Ayurveda with updated diagnostics. I did get certified in Panchakarma & Rasayana therapy, which I use quite a lot—especially in cases where tissue-level nourishment or deep detox is needed. Rasayana has this underrated role in post-illness recovery n immune stabilization, which most people miss. I’m pretty active in clinical research too—not a full-time academic or anything, but I’ve contributed to studies on how Ayurveda helps manage diabetes, immunity burnout, stress dysregulation, things like that. It’s been important for me to keep a foot in that evidence-based space—not just because of credibility but because it keeps me from becoming too rigid in practice. I also get invited to speak at wellness events n some integrative health conferences—sharing ideas around patient-centered treatment models or chronic care via Ayurvedic frameworks. I practice full-time at a wellness centre that’s serious about Ayurveda—not just the spa kind—but real, protocol-driven, yet personalised medicine. Most of my patients come to me after trying a lot of other options, which makes trust-building a huge part of what I do every single day.

Dr. Anjali Sehrawat
I am Dr. Anjali Sehrawat. Graduated BAMS from National College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Barwala (Hisar) in 2023—and right now I'm doing my residency, learning a lot everyday under senior clinicians who’ve been in the field way longer than me. It’s kind of intense but also really grounding. Like, it makes you pause before assuming anything about a patient. During my UG and clinical rotations, I got good hands-on exposure... not just in diagnosing through Ayurvedic nidan but also understanding where and when Allopathic tools (like lab reports or acute interventions) help fill the gap. I really believe that if you *actually* want to heal someone, you gotta see the whole picture—Ayurveda gives you that depth, but you also need to know when modern input is useful, right? I’m more interested in chronic & lifestyle disorders—stuff like metabolic imbalances, stress-linked issues, digestive problems that linger and slowly pull energy down. I don’t rush into giving churnas or kashayams just bcz the texts say so... I try to see what fits the patient’s prakriti, daily habits, emotional pattern etc. It’s not textbook-perfect every time, but that’s where the real skill grows I guess. I do a lot of thinking abt cause vs symptom—sometimes it's not the problem you see that actually needs solving first. What I care about most is making sure the treatment is safe, ethical, practical, and honest. No overpromising, no pushing meds that don’t fit. And I’m always reading or discussing sth—old Samhitas or recent journals, depends what the case demands. My goal really is to build a practice where people feel seen & understood, not just “managed.” That's where healing actually begins, right?

Dr. Anirudh Deshmukh
I am Dr Anurag Sharma, done with BAMS and also PGDHCM from IMS BHU, which honestly shaped a lot of how I approach things now in clinic. Working as a physician and also as an anorectal surgeon, I’ve got around 2 to 3 years of solid experience—tho like, every day still teaches me something new. I mainly focus on anorectal care (like piles, fissure, fistula stuff), plus I work with chronic pain cases too. Pain management is something I feel really invested in—seeing someone walk in barely managing and then leave with actual relief, that hits different. I’m not really the fancy talk type, but I try to keep my patients super informed, not just hand out meds n move on. Each case needs a bit of thinking—some need Ksharasutra or minor para surgical stuff, while others are just lifestyle tweaks and herbal meds. I like mixing the Ayurved principles with modern insights when I can, coz both sides got value really. It’s like—knowing when to go gentle and when to be precise. Right now I’m working hard on getting even better with surgical skills, but also want to help people get to me before surgery's the only option. Had few complicated cases where patience n consistency paid off—no shortcuts but yeah, worth it. The whole point for me is to actually listen first, like proper listen. People talk about symptoms but also say what they feel—and that helps in understanding more than any lab report sometimes. I just want to stay grounded in my work, and keep growing while doing what I can to make someone's pain bit less every day.

Dr. Manjula
I am an Ayurveda practitioner who’s honestly kind of obsessed with understanding what really caused someone’s illness—not just what hurts, but why it started in the first place. I work through Prakruti-Vikruti pareeksha, tongue analysis, lifestyle patterns, digestion history—little things most ppl skip over, but Ayurveda doesn’t. I look at the whole system and how it’s interacting with the world around it. Not just, like, “you have acidity, take this churna.” My main focus is on balancing doshas—Vata, Pitta, Kapha—not in a copy-paste way, but in a very personalized, live-and-evolving format. Because sometimes someone looks like a Pitta imbalance but actually it's their aggravated Vata stirring it up... it’s layered. I use herbal medicine, ahar-vihar (diet + daily routine), lifestyle modifications and also just plain conversations with the patient to bring the mind and body back to a rhythm. When that happens—healing starts showing up, gradually but strongly. I work with chronic conditions, gut imbalances, seasonal allergies, emotional stress patterns, even people who just “don’t feel right” anymore but don’t have a name for it. Prevention is also a huge part of what I do—Ayurveda isn’t just for after you fall sick. Helping someone stay aligned, even when nothing feels urgent, is maybe the most powerful part of this science. My entire practice is rooted in classical Ayurvedic texts—Charaka, Sushruta, Ashtanga Hridayam—and I try to stay true to the system, but I also speak to people where they’re at. That means making the treatments doable in real life. No fancy lists of herbs no one can find. No shloka lectures unless someone wants them. Just real healing using real logic and intuition together. I care about precision in diagnosis. I don’t rush that part. I take time. Because one wrong assumption and you’re treating the shadow, not the source. And that’s what I try to avoid. My goal isn’t temporary relief—it’s to teach the body how to not need constant fixing. When someone walks away lighter, clearer, more in tune with their system—that’s the actual win.

Dr. Surya Bhagwati
I am a Senior Ayurveda Physician with more than 28 years in this field — and trust me, it still surprises me how much there is to learn every single day. Over these years, I’ve had the chance to treat over 1 lakh patients (probably more by now honestly), both through in-person consults and online. Some come in with a mild cough, others with conditions no one’s been able to figure out for years. Each case brings its own rhythm, and that’s where real Ayurveda begins. I still rely deeply on classical tools — *Nadi Pariksha*, *Roga-Rogi Pariksha*, proper *prakriti-vikriti* mapping — not just ticking symptoms into a list. I don’t believe in ready-made cures or generic charts. Diagnosis needs attention. I look at how the disease behaves *inside* that specific person, which doshas are triggering what, and where the imbalance actually started (hint: it’s usually not where the pain is). Over the years I’ve worked with pretty much all age groups and all kinds of health challenges — from digestive upsets & fevers to chronic, autoimmune, hormonal, metabolic and degenerative disorders. Arthritis, diabetes, PCOD, asthma, thyroid... but also things like unexplained fatigue or joint swelling that comes and goes randomly. Many of my patients had already “tried everything else” before they walked into Ayurveda, and watching their systems respond slowly—but surely—is something I don’t take lightly. My line of treatment usually combines herbal formulations (classical ones, not trendy ones), Panchakarma detox when needed, and realistic dietary and lifestyle corrections. Long-term healing needs long-term clarity — not just short bursts of symptom relief. And honestly, I tell patients that too. I also believe patient education isn’t optional. I explain things. Why we’re doing virechana, why the oil changed mid-protocol, why we pause or shift the meds after a few weeks. I want people to feel involved, not confused. Ayurveda works best when the patient is part of the process, not just receiving instructions. Even now I keep learning — through texts, talks, patient follow-ups, sometimes even mistakes that taught me what not to do. And I’m still committed, still fully into it. Because for me, this isn’t just a job. It’s a lifelong responsibility — to restore balance, protect *ojas*, and help each person live in tune with themselves. That’s the real goal.

Dr. Anupriya
I am an Ayurvedic doctor trained at one of the most reputed institutes (yeah, the kind that makes u sweat but also feel proud lol) where I completed my BAMS with 70%—not just numbers but real grind behind it. My focus during & after graduation has always been on treating the patient not just the disease, and honestly that philosophy keeps guiding me even now. I usually see anywhere around 50 to 60 patients a day, sometimes more if there's a health camp or local rush. It’s hectic, but I kinda thrive in that rhythm. What matters to me is not the number but going deep into each case—reading every complaint, understanding symptoms, prakriti, current state, season changes etc. and putting together a treatment that feels “right” for that person, not just for the condition. Like, I don’t do one-size-fits-all plans. I sit down, make case reports (yup, proper handwritten notes sometimes), observe small shifts, modify herbs, suggest diet tweaks, even plan rest patterns when needed. I find that holistic angle super powerful. And patients feel it too—some who come in dull n restless, over weeks show clarity, skin settles, energy kinda gets back... that makes the day worth it tbh. There’s no shortcut to trust, and i get that. Maybe that’s why patients keep referring their siblings or maa-papa too. Not bragging, but when people say things like “you actually listened” or “I felt heard”, it stays in the back of my mind even when I’m dog tired lol. My goal? Just to keep learning, treating honestly and evolving as per what each new case teaches me. Ayurveda isn’t static—it grows with u if u let it. I guess I’m just walking that path, one custom plan at a time.

Dr. Snehal Vidhate
I am Dr. Snehal Vidhate, born n brought up in Maharashtra—and honestly, for as long as I remember I’ve felt this pull towards Ayurveda. Not the fancy version ppl throw around, but the deep, real kind that actually helps ppl. I did my BAMS from YMT Ayurvedic Medical College in Kharghar. That’s where I got my basics strong—like really studied the shastras, understood prakriti, doshas, the whole deal. Not just crammed theory but started to see how it shows up in real lives. After finishing BAMS, I got into this one-year certificate course at Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, Delhi—honestly a turning point. I was super lucky to learn Kerala Ayurveda from my Guru, Prof. Dr. G.G. Gangadharan. He’s got this way of seeing things... simple but deep. That time with him taught me more than any textbook ever could. It kinda reshaped how I look at health, healing n how precise Ayurveda can be when you respect its roots. Right now I’m doing my MD in Panchakarma from SDM Ayurveda College, Bangalore. This place is like a hub for serious Ayurveda work. The Panchakarma training here? Super intense. We go deep into detoxification & rasayana therapy—not just theory again, but hands-on. I’m learning to blend classical techniques with today’s clinical demands.. like how to make Vamana or Basti actually doable in modern patient setups. My current practice is really about merging tradition with logic. Whether it’s chronic skin issues, gut problems, stress burnout or hormone stuff—my goal is to get to the root, not just hush the symptoms. I use Panchakarma when needed, but also a lot of ahara-vihara tweaks, medhya herbs, sometimes just slowing ppl down a bit helps. I really believe Ayurveda’s power is in its simplicity when done right. I don’t try to fix ppl—I work *with* them. And honestly, every patient teaches me something back.

Dr. Prasad Pentakota
ChatGPT said: I am Dr. P. Prasad, and I’ve been in this field for 20+ years now, working kinda across the board—General Medicine, Neurology, Dermatology, Cardiology—you name it. Didn’t start out thinking I’d end up spanning that wide, but over time, each area sort of pulled me in deeper. And honestly, I like that mix. It lets me look at a patient not just through one lens but a whole system-wide view... makes more sense when treating something that won’t fit neatly in one category. I’ve handled everything from day-to-day stuff like hypertension, diabetes, or skin infections to more serious neuro and cardiac problems. Some cases are quick—diagnose, treat, done. Others take time, repeated check-ins, figuring out what’s really going on beneath those usual symptoms. And that’s where the detail matters. I’m pretty big on thorough diagnosis and patient education—because half the problem is ppl just not knowing what’s happening inside their own body. What’s changed for me over years isn’t just knowledge, it’s how much I lean on listening. If you miss what someone didn’t say, you might also miss their actual illness. And idk, after seeing it play out so many times, I do believe combining updated medical practice with basic empathy really shifts outcomes. Doesn’t have to be complicated... it just has to be consistent. I keep up with research too—new drugs, diagnostics, cross-specialty updates etc., not because it’s trendy, but cuz it’s necessary. Patients come in better read now than ever. You can’t afford to fall behind. The end goal’s the same tho—help them heal right, not just fast. Ethical practice, evidence-based, and sometimes just being there to explain what’s going on. That’s what I stick to.

Dr. Nisha Bisht
I am an Ayurvedic physician with over 10 years of real, everyday experience—both in the clinical side and in managing systems behind the scenes. My journey started at Jiva Ayurveda in Faridabad, where I spent around 3 years juggling in-clinic and telemedicine consultations. That time taught me how different patient care can look when it’s just you, the person’s voice, and classical texts. No fancy setups—just your grasp on nidan and your ability to *listen properly*. Then I moved into a Medical Officer role at Uttaranchal Ayurved College in Dehradun, where I stayed for 7 years. It was more than just outpatient care—I was also involved in academic work, teaching students while continuing to treat patients. That phase really pushed me to re-read things with new eyes. You explain something to students one day and then end up applying it differently the next day on a patient. The loop between theory and practice became sharper there. Right now, I’m working as Deputy Medical Superintendent at Shivalik Hospital (part of the Shivalik Ayurved Institute in Dehradun). It’s a dual role—consulting patients *and* making sure the hospital ops run smooth. I get to ensure that the Ayurvedic care we deliver is both clinically sound and logistically strong. From patient case planning to supporting clinical staff and overseeing treatment quality—I keep an eye on all of it. Across all these years, my focus hasn’t changed much—I still work to blend classical Ayurved with today’s healthcare structure in a way that feels practical, safe and real. I don’t believe in overloading patients or selling “quick detox” ideas. I work on balancing doshas, rebuilding agni, planning proper chikitsa based on the person’s condition and constitution. Whether it’s lifestyle disorders, seasonal issues, chronic cases, or plain unexplained fatigue—I try to reach the cause before anything else. I still believe that Ayurved works best when it’s applied with clarity and humility—not overcomplicated or oversold. That’s the approach I carry into every patient room and every team meeting. It’s a long road, but it’s one I’m fully walking.

Dr. Narendrakumar V Mishra
I am a Consulting Ayurvedic Physician practicing since 1990—feels strange saying “over three decades” sometimes, but yeah, that’s the journey. I’ve spent these years working closely with chronic conditions that don’t always have clear answers in quick fixes. My main work has been around skin disorders, hair fall, scalp issues, and long-standing lifestyle stuff like diabetes, arthritis, and stress that kinda lingers under everything else. When someone walks into my clinic, I don’t jump to treat the problem on the surface. I start by understanding their *prakriti* and *vikriti*—what they’re made of, and what’s currently out of sync. That lets me build treatment plans that actually *fit* their system—not just push a medicine and hope it works. I use a mix of classical formulations, panchakarma if needed, dietary corrections, and slow, practical lifestyle changes. No overnight miracle talk. Just steady support. Hair fall and skin issues often feel cosmetic from outside—but internally? It’s about digestion, stress, liver, hormones... I’ve seen patients try 10+ things before landing in front of me. And sometimes they just need someone to *listen* before throwing herbs at the problem. That’s something I never skip. With arthritis and diabetes too, I take the same root-cause path. I give Ayurvedic medicines, but also work with *dinacharya*, *ahar* rules, and ways to reduce the load modern life puts on the body. We discuss sleep, food timing, mental state, all of it. I’ve also worked a lot with people dealing with high stress—career burnout, anxiety patterns, overthinking—and my approach there includes Ayurvedic counseling, herbal mind support, breathing routines... depends what suits them. My foundation is built on classical *samhitas*, clinical observation, and actual time with patients—not theories alone. My goal has always been simple: to help people feel well—not just for a few weeks, but in a way that actually lasts. Healing that feels like *them*, not just protocol. That’s what I keep aiming for.

Dr. Isha Bhardwaj
I am someone who kinda learned early that medicine isn’t just about protocols or pills—like, it’s more about people, right? I did my BAMS with proper grounding in both classical Ayurveda and also the basics of modern med, which honestly helped me see both sides better. During internship, I got to work 6 months at Civil Hospital Sonipat—very clinical, very fast paced—and the other 6 at our own Ayurvedic hospital in the college. That mix showed me how blending traditional and integrative care isn't just theory, it actually works with real patients. After that I joined Kbir Wellness, an Ayurvedic aushdhalaya setup, where I dived into Naadi Pariksha—like really deep. It’s weird how much you can tell from pulse if you just listen right?? Doing regular consultations there sharpened my sense of prakriti, vikriti and how doshas show up subtle first. I used classical Ayurvedic texts to shape treatment plans, but always kept the patient’s routine, mental space and capacity in mind. Also I was part of some health camps around Karnal and Panipat—especially in govt schools and remote areas. That part really stays with me. You get to help ppl who dont usually have access to consistent care, and you start valuing simple awareness more than anything. I kinda think prevention should be a bigger focus in Ayurveda, like we keep talking about root cause but don’t always reach people before it gets worse. My whole method is pretty much built around that—root-cause treatment, yes, but also guiding patients on how to live with their body instead of fighting symptoms all the time. I rely a lot on traditional diagnostics like Naadi, but I mix that with practical therapies they can actually follow. No point in giving hard-to-do regimens if someone’s already overwhelmed. I keep it flexible. Most of my plans include dietary changes, natural formulations, lifestyle corrections and sometimes breathwork, daily rhythms and all that. I’m not here to just “treat illness”—what I really aim for is helping someone feel like they’ve got a handle on their own health again. That shift from just surviving to kinda thriving... that’s what I look for in every case.
