Under-eye bags are often a sign of fluid retention or inflammation, and in Ayurveda, this condition may be linked to imbalances in Pitta and Kapha doshas. To help alleviate this concern, start with identifying possible triggers, such as poor sleep, diet or stress.

For a Pitta-Kapha body type, emphasizing lifestyle modifications to balance these doshas is key. Begin with your diet: avoid excessively salty or spicy foods, as they can aggravate both Pitta and fluid retention common with Kapha. Opt for lighter, cooling meals that pacify Pitta, such as leafy greens, cucumber, and zucchini. Reduce dairy and processed sugars, as they can exacerbate Kapha.

Prioritizing quality sleep is vital. Establish a calming nighttime routine to mitigate Pitta-driven stress and cool down before bed, perhaps with a glass of warm almond milk. Try a dash of nutmeg or cardamom to promote restful sleep.

Incorporate Ayurvedic herbs like Triphala into your routine. Taken at night, it can aid digestion and detoxification processes. Also, Use eye masks soaked in chilled rose water or cucumber slices to soothe and hydrate the area, especially in the morning.

For practical daily application, Gently massage almond oil under the eyes before bed. Almond oil helps nourish the skin and also pacifies Pitta. Focus on maintaining a consistent exercise regimen, but avoid late-night workouts which can increase Pitta activity.
