Suggestions for Managing High Cholesterol and Eye Issues - #40718

Meilleures salutations, Agathe Lassner

Regarding your friend’s high cholesterol and eye concerns, it’s crucial to first continue with the prescribed allopathic treatment by her cardiologist, given the potential seriousness of these symptoms. This should not be interrupted, as stabilizing vascular health is paramount.

Incorporating certain Ayurvedic suggestions can complement allopathic methods safely. First, concerning diet: balancing a Pitta dosha requires careful selection of cooling and anti-inflammatory foods. Encourage her to consume fresh vegetables like cucumber, bitter gourd, and leafy greens. Whole grains such as barley and rice are also beneficial. Advise reducing intake of spicy, oily foods and avoiding excessive salt, which could exacerbate her blood pressure.

For her eyes and the ‘fatty’ deposits, Triphala - a traditional herbal formulation - can be beneficial. Mixing a quarter teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water and consuming it at night helps detoxification and supports kapha reduction. Pair this with a routine of gentle eye exercises to improve blood circulation.

Practices such as meditation and pranayama can help with overall stress management, influencing both cholesterol and blood pressure. Suggest deep breathing exercises like Nadi Shodhana at least 10 minutes daily, helping balance all doshic imbalances.

Your suggestion of consuming raw garlic does align with cholesterol management. However, if she’s not seeing improvements, consistency and integration of these methods with her lifestyle is essential. It’s critical she follows these practices regularly and consults her healthcare provider alongside her Ayurvedic adjustments to ensure complete safety.
