Considering your situation, the focus would shift towards addressing any potential imbalance in the doshas, primarily Kapha and Pitta, which can cause skin discoloration or darkening when not balanced. Firstly, incorporate regular Ubtan or herbal paste into your daily routine. Use a blend of turmeric powder (Haldi), sandalwood powder (Chandan), and a few drops of rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply to the affected area and leave it for about 15-20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. This can be done 2-3 times a week.
Dietary adjustments also play a crucial role. Ensure your diet is rich in antioxidants; include fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Avoid excessively spicy, oily, and sour foods, as these can aggravate Pitta dosha, leading to further pigmentation. Instead, focus on foods that help pacify Pitta and Kapha, such as bitter gourd and cucumber.
It is beneficial to maintain good hydration; drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day is essential for detoxification and maintaining skin’s natural glow. Introduce herbal teas like green tea or chamomile, which aid in liver detoxification — an essential aspect of managing pigmentation issues.
Triphala, a traditional Ayurvedic formulation, can be taken to aid digestion and detoxification. Many use it as it helps in balancing all three doshas and promotes healthy skin. Take Triphala churna, a teaspoon with warm water, at bedtime, but consult a physician before doing so, considering you’re breastfeeding.
Regularly engage in dry brushing of the underarm area to improve blood circulation and remove dead skin cells. Follow this practice before showering. Lastly, avoid any synthetic deodorants that might cause further discoloration due to harsh chemicals in them.
Keep consistent with these suggestions and monitor for any changes. If there’s no improvement, consider consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance. Your unique prakriti and lifestyle can influence how timely these solutions manifest benefits, as Ayurveda is highly individualized in treatment and care.
