Hello I‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ can definitely relate to the situation and it’s a real discouragement when you are trying everything right— medicines, exercise, and diet — and still, no movement on the scale.

In most cases, this is an indication that the problem is not with the amount of food one takes but rather a metabolic, hormonal, or digestive imbalance concealed beneath.

✅AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

Even if you take good care of yourself by eating well, exercising, and taking medicines, weight will not go down when

– Agni (metabolic fire) is low or irregular If Agni is Manda (slow), instead of burning the food, the body stores everything as fat.

– Kapha accumulation blocks fat metabolism Without the removal of Kapha & Ama (toxins), even strong medicines have little or no effect.

– Overuse of medicines = metabolic confusion If you combine Unani + fat burners, it may: Lead to increased production of stress hormones (cortisol) Decreased metabolism Water retention Indigestion

– Wrong exercise type or intensity Through excessive mixed exercise your body may go into stress mode therefore metabolism slows down even more.If you do too much mixed exercise, your body may go into stress mode, slowing metabolism further.

– Incorrect timing of food & medicines According to Ayurveda: Late dinners Long intervals between meals Cold foods all these factors slow down fat burning.

Summary:

Chances are that your metabolic system is the one that needs a correction first before fat burners would be of more use.

✅AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

👉Step 1 — Correct Agni (most important)

1 Take Trikatu churna 1/4 tsp with warm water 10 mins before lunch & dinner Just by this alone metabolism gets elevated by 20–30%.

👉Step 2 — Ama reduction (detox at cellular level) 1. Punarnavadi Kashayam – 15 ml + warm water before meals 2. Triphala churna 1 tsp at bedtime 3. Medohar guggulu 1 tab twice daily after meals

These are the agents that assist in the breaking of the hard to break Kapha and water retention.

✅DIET MODIFICATION (Most people err here)

✔️ Maintain a strict Kapha-Pacifying Regimen Only warm foods Have your dinner early and certainly not later than 7:30 pm Do not consume curd, sweets, bakery products, or rice at night Stop cold drinks & fruits at night Increase protein but make sure it is warm & cooked Start taking jeera + ajwain + saunf water every day

Best fats to burn Moong dal + veggies Roti + sabji (limit wheat consumption) Millets (bajra, jowar, ragi) Warm vegetable soups Ghee (1 tsp/day) is a great fat burner

✅ Exercise Plan (Ayurveda-based)

An ideal daily routine: 30–40 min brisk walk daily 15 min strength training (3–4 days/week) 10 min yoga for metabolism (Surya Namaskar, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana)

Stay away from:

Over-cardio Exhaustive HIIT Late-night workouts All these lead to increased cortisol which is the main cause of fat storage.

✅Why Unani + MB Fat Burner May Not Be Working

Different systems of medicine operating on different principles Body gets confused leading to slows down metabolism Fat burners commonly bring about stress-induced weight plateau No root cause correction

If you want to keep on with Unani only, then stop the fat burner; use only one system at a time.

Warm regards, Dr Snehal ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Vidhate

Stop immediately All current Unani weight-loss medicines + MB fat burner (they are clearly not working for your body type)

Internal Medicines 1 Triphala Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals 2 Medohar Vati (Baidyanath) – 2 tablets morning + 2 tablets night after meals 3 Varunadi Kashayam – 20 ml + 60 ml warm water morning empty stomach 4 Kanchanar Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals 5 Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet morning after breakfast 6 Hingwashtak Churna – 1 gm with first bite of lunch & dinner

Single Most Important Addition Take ½ teaspoon (3 gm) pure Shilajit resin dissolved in warm milk every morning → this restarts fat metabolism in resistant cases

Diet Give only Breakfast: 2 besan-moong chilla OR oats vegetable upma + green tea Lunch: 50 gm brown rice OR 2 jowar/bajra rotis + moong dal + plenty lauki/turai/bitter gourd + 1 tsp ghee 5 PM: Green tea + 5 almonds + 1 guava Dinner (strictly before 7 PM): Vegetable soup OR light moong khichdi + 1 tsp ghee Jeera + saunf water sip all day (boil 1 tsp each in 1 L)

Avoid completely Milk tea/coffee, curd after 4 PM, banana, chikoo, packaged food Eating after 7:30 PM

Exercise 45–60 min brisk walk/jog daily + 20 min strength training (squats, push-ups) 4 days/week Kapalbhati 5–10 min daily morning

If your current weight loss treatment isn’t working, several factors could be at play. In Ayurveda, the complexity of weight loss hinges primarily on your unique constitution, or prakriti, and the balance of doshas within your body. Simply put, there can be underlying imbalances that might need to be addressed for effective weight loss.

Firstly, examine your agni, or digestive fire. If agni is weak, the body may not metabolize food properly, leading to poor digestion and ama (toxins) accumulation which hinders weight loss. Consider incorporating herbs like trikatu, which can bolster metabolism. Consume a mix of ginger, long pepper and black pepper with honey before meals to stimulate agni.

Next, It’s essential to balance the right dosha. If your kapha dosha is elevated, as is common with weight gain, foods that are heavy or oily can exacerbate the problem. Emphasizing light, dry, warming foods such as barley, lentils, or green leafy vegetables can help pacify kapha. Limit dairy, sugar, and processed foods; also. Consider a vata-pacifying diet if you’re feeling ungrounded or anxious, including warm, oily foods like cooked vegetables or ghee.

Timing is another critical aspect. Avoid eating late at night which can lead to poor digestion; eat your largest meal when your agni is strongest, typically around noon.

Exercise plays a significant role. Make sure your activities are appropriate for your constitution; vigorous exercises help with kapha, while gentle yoga or tai chi can be beneficial for vata and pitta.

It’s also important to manage stress through meditation or pranayama (breath control) as stress can affect digestion and weight.

Finally, Unani and ayurveda systems can sometimes be at odds; it’s important to ensure they compliment each other and don’t clash. Consider consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized assessment. Mixing systems without expert guidance could be the reason here for lack of effectiveness in your approach.

HELLO,

WHY YOUR CURRENT TREATMENT MAY NOT BE WORKING Even with medicines, diet and exercise, weight loss may stall due to

1) METABOLISM ADAPTATION -sometimes metabolism slows with restrictive diets or long term fat burners

2) MEDICINES THAT DON’T MATCH YOUR BODY TYPE In Ayurveda, treatment differs for kapha, pitta, vata individuals Most generic “weight loss mediicnes” targets kapha, but if your body type is mixed, results maybe minimal

3) GUT HEALTH/ DIGESTION ISSUES If digestion is weak, fat burning treatments won’t work effectively. Ayurveda always begins with improving agni

4) WRONG TIME OF FOOD OR MEDICINES Even healthy food eaten late at night ca stop weight loss

5) STRESS AND POOR SLEEP -coritsol -> fat retention, especially around the belly

TREATMENT GOALS

-correct digestive fire -remove ama (toxins) -reduce kapha+ melt stored fat -strengthen muscles and energy

We aim to balance vata, mildly reduce kapha(fat), and support (digestion, metabolism)

EFFECTIVE EXERCISES focus on combining cardio, strength, and core exercises.

CARDIO(daily for 30-45 mins) -Brisk walking/jogging - cycling -jump rope - dancing or aerobics these help burn fat all over, including the belly.

CORE- TARGETED WORKOUTS(3-5 TIMES/WEEK) -plank = 3 sets of 30-60 sec - Russian twists= 3 sets of 20 reps - Leg raises -Mountainclimbers -Suryanamskar= 8 rounds daily

YOGA ASANAS

STRENGTH AND CORE (fat burn + muscle building) -Suryanamskar = 10 rounds -Plank (1 min* 3) -bhujangasana -setu bandhasana -navasana -utkatasana

FLEXIBILITY AND RECOVERY -Trikonasana, vrikshasana -ardha matsyendrasana -balasana

PRANAYAM(10 min total) -kapalbhati= 3 rounds for fat metabolism -bhastrika- 3 rounds -Anulom Vilom- 5 min -bhramari- 2 mins

DETOX PLAN EVERY 6 MONTHS PANCHAKARMA(under ayurvedic practitioner at clinic setup) -Virechana= liver detox, fat metabolism -basti = best for vata, deep detox -abhyanga + swedana= toxin elimination, flexibility

EXERCISE ROUTINE MON= strength (upper body + core) TUE= HIIT (15 min) + Yoga WED= strength (lower body) THU= walk(45 mins)+ mobility FRI= full body+core training SAT= long walk/light jog+yoga stretching SUN= rest+pranayam+self massage

This diet is kapha reducing, which means it helps reduce excess body fat, improves metabolism, and minimise water retention and heaviness- especially around belly.

1) GRAINS(choose light, low glycemic) -old rice, barley, millets- bajra, ragi, jowar, quinoa, whole wheat

AVOID= white rice, maida, processed breads or bakery items, heavy or sticky grains like oats

2) PULSES AND LEGUMES -moong dal= easy to digest , light -massor dal -hoarse gram= very good for reducing fat(kulthi) -chickpeas- chana roasted or boiled

AVOID= rajma, chole, urad dal- they are heavy and produce gas if digestion is weak, overcooked or creamy dals

3) VEGETABLES -leafy grreen= spinach, methi, coriander, curry leaves -lauki, tinda, karela, pumpkin -cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, beans -drumsticks, snake gourd - radish-especially good for belly fat

AVOID= potato, sweet potato , arbi, -tomatoes in excess -excess onion garlic at night

COOKING- steam or light saute vegetables with mustard seeds, cumin, ginger, and turmeric in minimal oil

4) FRUITS -apples, pear -papaya= excellent for digestion -pomegranate -guava, watermelon= take in morning only -seasonal berries -amla- raw or juice

AVOID= banana, mangoes, grapes, chikos, any fruits after sunset, fruit juices= high sugar

5) DAIRY PRODUCTS -buttermilk=diluted curd, churned, spiced with roasted cumin, ajwain - low fat curd- only in daytime - cow’s milk-if needed boiled with turmeric or ginger

AVOID= cold milk, panner, cheese, khoya, full cream milk, curd at night

6) FATS AND OILS -cows ghee- small quantity, helps in fat metabolism -cold pressed mustard oiler sesame oil

AVOID -refined oils, deep fired food

7) SPICES AND HERBS these helps stimulate digestion, improves metabolism and reduce bloating -ginger, cumin, ajwain, black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, fenugreek, asafoetida

use these in cooking or as herbal teas- cumin-fennel-coriander decoction after meals

8) BEVERAGES -warm water throughout the day - herbal teas -jeera water

AVOID= cold water, aerated drinks, packaged fruit juices, sweet lassi or milkshakes

9) SNACKS-light dry and non sugary - roasted makahna, roasted chana, dry fruits in moderation -chia seed water -sprouts= moong, chana with lemon, no salt

AVOID -buiscuits, chips, namkeen, bakery items, sugar bars or energy drinks

HOW TO EAT -eat only when hungry- no emotional or boredom eating - eat in calm, mindful environment - avoid overeating, even healthy foods - use warm, cooked meals, over raw/cold food -obseve mitahara- balanced, moderate, quantity of food - intermittent fasting- 14-16 hours overnight is safe and recommended

MEDICATIONS ADVISED FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND BELLY FAT

PHASE 1- DETOX AND METABOLISM duration= for week 1-4

1) TRIPHALA CHURNA- 1/2 tsp with warm water at bedtime =improves gut health, reduces fat absorption, prevents constipation

2) TRIKATU CHURNA- 1/2 tsp with honey 15 minutes before meals twice daily = burns toxins, stimulates fat metabolism

3) WARM LEMON-HONEY WATER -juice of 1/2 lemon+ 1 tsp honey in 1 glass warm water =first thing in the morning on an empty stomach

PHASE 2= FAT BURNING AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT duration= week 5-12

4) MEDOHARA GUGGULU- 2 tabs twice daily after meals with warm water =reduces kapha and meda dhatu- fat tissues, helps in belly fat loss

5) PUNARNAVA MANDUR-FOR WATER RETENTION AND LIVER METABOLISM = 2 Tabs after lunch and dinner =imporves metabolism , supports kidney, liver detoc and reduces bloating

6) VRIKSHAMLA CAPSULES- 1 cap 30 minutes before meals twice daily =reduces appetite, inhibits fat storage

DAILY ROUTINE

5:30 AM= wake up , this will align body clock, energy boost

5:45 AM= oil puling with sesame oil (10 min), oral detox, skin and gum health

6:00 AM= triphala 1 tsp with warm water, gut cleansing, liver detox, skin

6:30 AM= Abhyanga (warm sesame oil massage-15 min), relieves back pain, tones muscles, detox

7:00 AM= bath with lukewarm water, vata pacification

7:30 AM= light yoga and pranayam, endurance , strength, flexibility

8:00 AM= breakfast(protein rich, warm), muscle gain, metabolism

1:00 PM= heaviest meal(lunch), improves digestion, nutrient absorption

4:00 PM= herbal tea+light snack(seeds/makhana), keeps metabolism active

6:30 PM= early light dinner, fat burn, easy digestion

9:00 PM= foot massage, sleep, detox nervous system

9:30 PM= sleep, muscle recovery, anti aging

Weight loss not happening means the body is not ready, not that you are doing anything wrong.

First correct digestio, toxins, kapha imbalance-> then weight loss automatically responds

-Don’t mix too many different types of medicines

Ayurveda’s approach is slow but steady and permenent

FOCUS ON METABOLISM, NOT CALORIES

MONITOR WEIGHT EVERY 2 WEEKS TRACK DIGESTION AND ENERGY LEVELS STAY HYDRATED

DO FOLLOW CONSISTENTLY

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

Weight loss can be challenging even with exercise and diet, and it’s common sometimes for progress to plateau. If you’re not seeing results with Unani medicine and your current routine, it could be helpful to look at your current state of doshas, especially vata and kapha. These doshas significantly influence weight management. Kapha might be particularly dominant if weight loss is stagnating despite efforts.

First, ensure your diet aligns with reducing kapha. This could involve reducing heavy, oily, and sweet foods. Increase intake of light, spicy, and dry foods instead. Focus on vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, while minimizing dairy and processed sugars. Avoidance of cold and fermented foods may also help in balancing kapha.

Consider also your agni, or digestive fire. If your metabolism is sluggish, your body might not be processing foods efficiently. Trikatu churna—a blend of black pepper, long pepper, and ginger—can help rekindle digestive fire. Take a small dose with warm water before meals—this may aid digestion and enhance metabolic rate.

On the exercise front, aim for more stimulating physical activity to elevate vata. Activities like brisk walking or dynamic yoga could potentially balance these doshas and assist in shedding extra weight.

It’s important to monitor how your body feels with these adjustments. If there’s still no progress or if you experience any adverse effects, consult both your Unani and Ayurvedic practitioners. The best approach combines insights for a customized treatment plan. Never rush significant diet changes or introduce new herbs abruptly without guidance from a professional.
