Taking Arjuna bark powder for a month is certainly a good start, particularly in addressing your symptoms like anxiety, stress, palpitations, and the slight diastolic dysfunction noted in your cardiac evaluation. Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna), as mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts, is revered for its cardioprotective properties, supporting heart health, and managing stress. However, whether one month will suffice or not depends on several factors, including your overall health, lifestyle, and any other concurrent treatments.
To make the best out of Arjuna powder, consider pairing it with lifestyle modifications—this is often underscored in Ayurveda. Firstly, maintaining a consistent routine, balancing Vata dosha, can help manage anxiety and stress. Incorporate grounding and nourishing foods, like warm soups, and avoid processed and cold foods that may aggravate your conditions. Meditation, pranayama—especially Anulom Vilom and Bhramari—and gentle yoga could further aid in calming your nervous system and managing cervical spondylitis symptoms.
Given your hypothyroid status, ensure regular monitoring of your thyroid functions and adjust your medicine with your physician. Load up on iodine-rich foods (like seaweed, if you don’t have dietary restrictions) and ensure an adequate intake of selenium and zinc, which is supportive for thyroid health.
If after a month of diligent practice you find improvement but symptoms are persisting, it may be suitable to continue with Arjuna for another month. Consult with your Ayurvedic physician regularly to adjust the treatment as per your response and keep evaluating the progress. They can also check for any potential contraindications and minor adjustment if needed. Remember, Ayurveda is very personalized, so regular follow-ups provide the opportunity to tweak your regimen as required.
