Seeking Guidance on Recurring Acne and Scarring - #49106
I am experiencing recurring acne issues. I had acne for the 2–3 years before, mainly on my cheeks, and it left red and brown marks on my skin. Recently I again started getting small pimples (may be starting stage of acen), and each one leaves a red spot that looks like a fresh scar. My skin is oily, has visible pores, and the marks take a long time to fade. For the last few weeks, I have been using haritaki (kadukkai) powder as a face mask 2–3 times a week, but I have not seen any improvement in my acne or the scars. I would like to know how long haritaki usually takes to show results and whether I should continue using it or follow a different Ayurvedic treatment, both internal and external, to reduce acne, control oil, and lighten the scars. I request your guidance in understanding the root cause and the right approach for my skin.

Haritaki mask: Helps inflammation, but slow results (6–8 weeks). Can continue 1–2×/week.Haritaki alone is not enough; combine internal treatment, diet, and other topical remedies for best results. Internal treatment: Triphala churna 1 tsp at night for detox Guduchi 250–500 mg daily to reduce inflammation Diet: light, non-greasy, cooling foods; avoid fried, spicy, sugary foods Lifestyle: stress management, exercise - External treatment: Masks: Neem, sandalwood + turmeric Oils for scars: Kumkumadi tailam or rosehip oil Gentle cleansing twice daily
For acne scars, Ayurveda focuses on purifying rakta and supporting natural skin healing. Improvement is gradual and gentle.
