Doctors' responses

-Gayathri ji, your ultrasound is mostly reassuring. The endometrium is thin, and the small ovarian cyst is usually harmless. Your prolonged, heavy bleeding is likely due to hormonal changes as you approach menopause. Ashokarishtam is fine to continue, but because the bleeding has lasted 17 days, you may also need short-term hormonal medicine to stop it and iron supplements to prevent anemia. -Diagnosis: Perimenopausal irregular/heavy bleeding Rx: 1)Ashokarishtam – 20 ml twice daily after food with equal water 2)Lodhra Ghan Vati – 2 tablets twice daily after food (optional, if heavy bleeding persists) 3)Shatavari Churna – 5 g with milk at night (optional, nourishing and uterine tonic) -Diet & Lifestyle Advice: Take iron-rich vegetarian diet (green leafy vegetables, pulses, nuts) Avoid cold and heavy foods, stress management Monitor bleeding and return if persists >20 days or if weakness/dizziness occurs -Follow-up: 2 weeks or after cessation of bleeding
