My Son has just turned 17. He was having freequent motion problem for which we consulted a doctor who diagnosed and said it is IBS-D. After two month, lot of tests, and allopathy medicines from the high profile doctors when no relief was experienced I took him to an Ayurvedic doctor. From the ayurvedic medicines what has become is the amount of stool has reduced but not the urge. He feels pain for going to pass the stool but either it does not come or comes very less, but it is causing him pain. Is the treatment going right? Will he recover from this problem?

Yes, many IBS-D patients improve slowly with proper Ayurvedic treatment, diet control, and stress management. Since stool quantity reduced, treatment may be partially working, but pain with urge and incomplete evacuation suggests bowel irritation and Apana Vata imbalance is still present. Ayurvedic treatment: Kutajghan Vati 2 tablets twice daily after food Bilwadi Churna 3 gm with warm water twice daily Takra Kalp fresh buttermilk with roasted jeera after lunch daily If pain and straining are more Hingvashtak Churna 1 gm with first morsel of food twice daily Diet Avoid spicy food, bakery items, cold drinks, excess milk, junk food Give soft rice, moong dal, pomegranate, banana, boiled vegetables Small frequent meals Sleep properly and reduce anxiety/stress
The ayurvedic medicines the doctor prescribed to him: 1) Krimi kuthar 2 tabs morning evening 2) bowel care of organic 2-2 capsules morning evening 3) dadi mashtak churan 4) flora saunte tou is good Ealrier he was given kutajparapat 2 tabs morning - evening and shankhavati 2 tabs morning evening which caused constipation to my son. since the constipation like symptoms persits i asked the doc to review it then she reduced the bowel care cap from 2 to 1 BDS

Thank You Dr Harsh Khandelwal for responding on my query informatively. I can see you suggested kutajghan vati only one to be taken. I think it will be right to light with medicines with my child as he complaint the constiplation after the other personal ayurvedic doctor’s medicine.
Two day before when my son was on ayurvedic medicines of that persona doctor in the morning he woke up with severe stomach pain and nausea that he had to be given pain releaving injections. I get his ultrasound also done, which came quite normal with not issues found.
After that pain I had to taken him to our family allopathy doctor who prescribed him pain killer for three days, also suggested to give him “darolac IBS” daily. He said that allopathy fails to treat such IBS cases but it would be safer for him.
I do not know how this happend and just fears that after taking the ayurvedic medicines again he should not develop constipation. Why because if he will get constipated, he would pass the motion of the never ending urges which keep come with pressure.

His stool is normal. In fact it has always been normal never loose. Just urges are coming through out a day amounting to 12 times

Ohkk…so r u start this line of treatment and after 7-10 days follow up 1. Kutajghan vati 1-0-1 after food with normal water 2.Bhilvadi churn 1/2 tsf BD after food with Buttermilk… 3. Mustakarishta 15ml BD with equal amount of water after food 4. Bhrami vati 1-0-1 after food with normal water ( this table is good for stress and anxiety reduced…in ibs brain gut axis commonly work so this is helpful for your son…take first 5-7 days than consult me if better result than again start 7-10 days.) Use buttermilk one time afternoon lunch. ••Avoid: Raw salads, leafy vegetables, spicy/oily food, caffeine, and heavy dairy (except buttermilk), as these can aggravate the Vata dosha in the colon
