I have a disc bulge in the c6-c7 position on the left side. That's why i sometimes feel pain in my left hand if i stay too long in a position like sleeping on the left side. Recently, i have been feeling a nerve pain on my left knee. No pain in pressing, but nerve pain while sitted with a folded knee. How to cure this damage?

I completely understand how frustrating and disruptive nerve-related discomfort can be, especially when it affects your sleep and daily sitting posture 1.Clinical Assessment: Connecting the Symptoms ​C6-C7 Disc Bulge (Left Side) ​In Ayurveda, this is a classic presentation of Greeva Stambha or Greeva Hundanam, heavily involving Vata Dosha (specifically Vyana Vayu, which governs circulation and movement, and Shleshaka Kapha, which lubricates the joints). ••​When the intervertebral disc bulges to the left, it compresses the exiting C7 nerve root. ​Prolonged static positions—like sleeping on your left side—increase mechanical pressure on that nerve, triggering radiating pain (Radiculopathy) down your left arm and hand. ​Left Knee Nerve Pain ​Anatomically, a C6-C7 cervical disc bulge cannot cause nerve pain in your knee. The cervical nerves only supply the upper limbs and thoracic region. ••​Nerve pain in the knee while sitting with a folded leg typically points to a localized issue in the lower lumbar spine (such as L4-S1 nerve root compression, commonly known as Gridhrasi or Sciatica) or localized compression of the peroneal/saphenous nerve around the knee joint during deep flexion. ••​In Ayurveda, this indicates that Vata Dosha is vitiated in multiple sites (Katigraha or Janu Vata), leading to Dhatu Kshaya (tissue depletion) in the joints and Srota Avarodha (channels blocked by Vata or mild Ama). ••Nerve Tonics & Vata Pacifiers Ekangveer Ras OR Trayodashang Guggulu Specifically indicated for nerve debilitating conditions, sciatica, and cervical spondylosis. ••Decoctions (Kwath) Rasnasaptak Kwath OR Maharasnadi Kadha Powerful anti-inflammatory herbs that target pain from the hips down to the knees and upper back. ••Disc Nourishment Ksheerabala 101 Avarti (Capsules/Drops) Medicated cow’s milk and sesame oil processed 101 times; deeply nourishes the spinal discs and nerves. ••Greeva Basti (For Cervical): A retaining wall of black gram dough is built over your C6-C7 region, and warm, medicated Vata-hara oils are pooled inside for 30–45 minutes. ••​Janu Basti (For Knee): The same procedure applied to the left knee to relieve localized nerve entrapment. ••​Recommended Oils: Ksheerabala Tailam, Maha Narayan Tailam, or Murivenna (excellent for tissue healing Crucial Lifestyle & Postural Adjustments ••​Sleeping Posture: Avoid sleeping on your left side for now. With proper Ayurvedic treatment, many patients experience good relief from pain, stiffness, and nerve irritation. Rx 1. Cervigest cap - 2 cap twice a day after meal 2. Mahayograj Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food (if pain is more prominent). 3. Ashwagandha Churna – 3 g twice daily with warm milk/water. 4. Dashmoolarishta – 15–20 ml with equal water twice daily after meals. External Therapies Gentle massage with Mahanarayana Taila or Ksheerabala Taila, followed by mild hot fomentation. Panchakarma procedures such as Greeva Basti, Patra Pinda Sweda, and Matra Basti can provide better long-term relief. Lifestyle Advice Avoid prolonged neck bending, mobile usage, and poor posture. Do not sit with knees folded for long periods. Perform gentle cervical strengthening and stretching exercises Use a proper cervical pillow and avoid sleeping on the painful side for extended periods. Additional Note The knee pain may not be directly related to the C6–C7 disc bulge. If the knee pain persists, worsens, or is associated with numbness, swelling, or weakness, further evaluation may be required to rule out a local knee or nerve-related issue. Moong dal, cooked vegetables, whole grains, sesame seeds, and moderate ghee. Adequate protein intake. Avoid cold foods, refrigerated items, excessive dry foods, and frequent fast food.
