Seeking Advice on Starting a New Venture - #46310

Firstly I am trying to answer Wyatt.. This situation is a temp chk. If you in full honesty have a powerful grit and motivation to start something new, delaying by a day should not lead to frustration at all, I get a feeling that somewhere you are not able to control that one day, how are you going to embrace the ups and downs you will be prone to in any new venture. Take a step back and evaluate abt your interests, passion and the initial drive to start something new. Rethink and retrospect..in my case I waited for a decade to start the venture I craved for; waited with same zeal and enthusiasm. I am doing fairly well but I do pivot and accept joyfully the surprises and welcome good and bad with equal acceptance. Also, being impulsive and hasty is an overall red flag if I have to judge the situation. Thanks.

How long have you been contemplating starting this new venture?:

- Less than a month

What emotions do you feel when you think about starting this venture?:

- Excitement

Have you faced any obstacles that have delayed your start?:

- Yes, personal reasons

Hlo,

As per your concern - I want to be honest with you. I see this situation as a small test of readiness. If someone truly has strong grit and motivation to begin something new, a one-day delay shouldn’t create frustration. That frustration makes me wonder whether the challenge is really about the delay, or about managing uncertainty and loss of control. Every new venture comes with ups and downs, pauses, and unexpected turns. If a single day feels overwhelming, it’s worth asking how you’ll navigate the longer, harder phases that are bound to come. I’d suggest taking a step back and reflecting on your interests, passion, and the deeper reason you want to start this. Make sure the drive is coming from clarity, not urgency. Speaking from personal experience, I waited nearly a decade to start something I deeply wanted. I held the same enthusiasm throughout, and when I finally began, I learned to pivot, adapt, and welcome both good and bad outcomes with equal acceptance. That mindset made all the difference. Lastly, I say this with goodwill—being impulsive or hasty can sometimes be a red flag, especially in the early stages. Thoughtful patience often leads to more sustainable success. Just my perspective—thank you for hearing me out.

Hello,

I get what you mean, and here is my honest and open point of view.

Well, if you honestly possess such grit, clear vision, and motivation to start off with something new, then postponing your beginning by just one day should not make you feel irritated or emotionally upset. A strong and firm drive is always consistent — it does not crumble under the weight of a short break.

As far as I know, the discomfort may not be about the delay itself, but rather about the difficulty of sitting with uncertainty for even a single day. And this is the main point to think over because, as a matter of fact, any new venture will come with delays, setbacks, changes, and even the unexpected. If right now you find a day to be too much, then you should probably ask yourself how you will deal with the bigger ups and downs later on.

Backing off here is not giving up — it’s a sign of maturity. Reconsider your interests, passion, and the why of starting this business. Is the motivation coming from a deep and strong conviction or from a momentary excitement?

As for me, I can say that I was waiting almost 5 years before I actually started the business I really wanted. During that period, the passion never died — it actually grew. Now, I can say that I am doing quite well, but what is more important, I have learned how to change my direction when it is necessary, to take surprises for what they are, and to accept both success and failure with the same level of openness.

Do keep in mind one thing: lack of consideration for the future and acting too quickly are most likely the points on which your serious endeavor is going to be marked with failure if you are not careful. Growth that is sustainable is going to need patience, the ability to control one’s emotions, and thinking about the long-term.

Think things through. Look back at what has happened. Prepare your base better before you raise up.

May you have the ability to see things clearly and be emotionally strong on your road.

Wishing you the best♥️

Your frustration from a single delay is a red flag – true grit means embracing ups, downs, and surprises with calm acceptance.

Take 7–10 days pause – no action, just reflect: Why this venture? Connect to your core passion. What’s the worst outcome? Build acceptance. How will you handle pivots & delays? Then start micro – one tiny irreversible step (e.g., register domain, tell someone). Momentum > perfection.

Impulsiveness often leads to burnout. Patience + sustained zeal (like waiting a decade) wins long-term.

Rethink calmly – when you start, it will be unstoppable.
