Memory issues, especially sudden forgetfulness, can be concerning, and Ayurveda sees this often as an imbalance in Vata or a sign of mental stress and fatigue. Since you have PCOD, hormonal imbalances can sometimes impact mental clarity and focus. To improve memory, Ayurveda recommends Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) and Shankhapushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis), both of which are powerful brain tonics that help improve concentration, memory, and mental calmness. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) may also be beneficial as it helps manage stress and supports hormonal balance, which could further help your cognitive functions.

Daily Nasya (nasal application) with Brahmi oil or Anu oil can also promote mental clarity. Placing a few drops of warm oil in each nostril in the morning can help nourish the mind and improve memory. A regular Abhyanga (full body oil massage) with warm sesame oil may further calm Vata, relieving tension and enhancing focus.

In terms of diet, incorporate nuts like almonds and walnuts, which are known for brain health, and avoid excessively processed or cold foods, as they can disrupt Vata. Also, try including spices such as turmeric, which has neuroprotective properties, and follow regular mealtimes to avoid blood sugar fluctuations, which can contribute to mental fog.

Practicing Bhramari Pranayama (humming bee breath) and meditation daily can also help center the mind and reduce forgetfulness. Set a consistent sleep routine, as restful sleep is essential for memory retention. With these practices, Ayurveda can help restore mental clarity and support overall well-being. However, if these memory issues persist, consider consulting a healthcare provider for further assessment.

After marriage, new responsibilities, lifestyle changes, or increased stress can sometimes lead to temporary memory issues. Stress and mental fatigue, common with new routines, can make it harder to concentrate and retain information. Poor sleep quality or inadequate nutrition can also impact memory, as restful sleep and nutrient-rich foods are essential for brain health. Regular physical activity and mental exercises, like puzzles or reading, can improve focus and memory by stimulating the brain. If memory lapses persist, consider consulting a healthcare provider to explore potential underlying causes and find effective solutions.

Forgetting things quickly can be pretty frustrating, but there could be several reasons behind it. Since you mentioned it started after marriage, let’s think about what might’ve changed for you in that time. Stress or lifestyle changes can sometimes affect memory. From an Ayurvedic perspective, memory loss can be related to a Vata imbalance because Vata governs the nervous system.

First thing, consider if you’re getting enough rest and sleep. Sleep is powerful for memory and cognition. Your mind needs time to recharge. Try to establish a routine before bed—maybe some light reading or relaxation exercises to calm the mind. Keep away from screens for at least an hour before sleeping as they can disrupt your natural rhythms.

Next, let’s talk diet. Ayurveda suggests certain foods can nourish brain tissues (Medha Dhatu) like almonds, walnuts and cow’s ghee. Actually soaking a few almonds overnight and eating them in the morning can be beneficial. Include whole grains and plenty of green leafy vegetables. Avoid processed food, excess caffeine, sugar—these can elevate stress levels and harm your concentration and memory.

Try practicing simple meditation or yoga daily, even if it’s just for 10-15 minutes, this can massively reduce anxiety and improve focus. Pranayama, especially Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), is specifically great for balancing the mind and the body.

If you’re having emotional stress from changes in life demands after marriage, don’t shy away from discussing them with your partner. Sometimes verbalizing your stressors can lessen their hold on you.

Finally, Brahmi is a wonderful Ayurvedic herb that can enhance memory and clarity of the mind. You can take Brahmi in the form of capsules or as Brahmi powder mixed in warm milk before bed. But, consult a healthcare professional before starting any herbs, just to be sure it aligns with your current health condition.

If forgetfulness continues or worsens, definitely consider seeing a doctor for more detailed examination though. Memory difficulty is not to be taken lightly if persists.
