Doctors’ responses

Vitiligo in Ayurveda is considered a result of imbalanced Pitta and improper digestion (Ama buildup). To manage white spots: Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia): Apply Bakuchi oil or powder externally and take it internally (under supervision). Khadirarishta: A herbal tonic for blood purification. Neem: Use neem leaves or juice to detoxify and support skin health. Diet: Avoid sour, spicy, and fermented foods. Eat a Pitta-pacifying diet with fresh vegetables and fruits. Stress management: Practice meditation and pranayama. Consult an Ayurvedic physician for personalized care and dosage.

Vitiligo is often linked to an imbalance in the body's immune system, where the immune system attacks the pigment-producing cells. Ayurveda treats vitiligo by addressing this imbalance through herbal remedies, dietary adjustments, and lifestyle modifications. Herbs like Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia) and Manjistha are commonly used for their skin-healing and pigmentation-restoring properties. External treatments like oil massages with coconut oil and turmeric may help rejuvenate skin cells and improve pigmentation. Additionally, following a diet that balances Pitta dosha, which can be aggravated in vitiligo, by including cooling, anti-inflammatory foods can support the healing process. A detox regimen like Panchakarma could also be helpful for cleansing toxins and rejuvenating the skin. For optimal results, it is important to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your condition.
