warts on neck - #18125

Anonymously

Doctor, I’ve been dealing with warts on my neck for the past few months, and I’m not sure what’s causing them. They started as tiny bumps, but over time, they have grown larger, and now I have multiple small warts spreading around my neck area. They don’t hurt, but they look unsightly, and I’m worried they might increase even more. I read that warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), but I don’t understand why some people get them while others don’t. Does Ayurveda explain why warts appear on certain parts of the body? I’ve heard that warts are related to an imbalance in Kapha dosha—is that true? I also read that some people remove warts on the neck using laser treatments or freezing methods, but I’m hesitant to try these because I want to fix the root cause. Are there Ayurvedic remedies that help remove warts naturally? I’ve seen recommendations for applying Neem oil, turmeric, and garlic—do these actually work? Another concern I have is whether my diet or immunity is playing a role in this. Are there specific foods that I should avoid to prevent warts from coming back? I’ve been under a lot of stress lately—could that be weakening my immune system and making me more prone to warts? I would love to hear your Ayurvedic approach to treating warts on the neck. What is the best way to get rid of them naturally, and how can I prevent them from reappearing?

Namaste. Warts on the neck, as per Ayurveda, are considered “Charmakeela”, which is often linked to an imbalance in Kapha and Vata dosha. The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a known cause of warts, but Ayurveda views their occurrence as a result of toxins (Ama) accumulation, weak Agni (digestive fire), and improper lymphatic drainage, which allow viral infections to manifest on the skin. Stress, poor diet, and a weak immune system can further aggravate Kapha, making the skin prone to such growths. To remove warts naturally, Ayurveda suggests external applications and internal detoxification. Applying Neem oil or turmeric paste helps due to their antiviral and Kapha-pacifying properties. Fresh garlic juice or onion juice can be applied directly on warts, as their natural enzymes help shrink the growths. A classical remedy involves applying “Apamarga Kshara” (alkali extract of Achyranthes aspera) or Danti Kshara, which can be done under an Ayurvedic physician’s guidance for safe and effective wart removal. Haridra (turmeric) with honey can also be applied overnight. Internally, detoxifying the blood and improving digestion is key to preventing recurrence. Start taking Triphala churna (1 tsp with warm water at bedtime) to remove Ama from the body. Neem capsules or fresh Neem juice (10 ml daily) purify the blood, preventing viral outbreaks. You may also take Giloy (Guduchi) and Ashwagandha, as they strengthen immunity and help combat viral infections. Avoid excess dairy, fried food, and sugary items, as these increase Kapha and promote wart formation. Instead, focus on green leafy vegetables, fiber-rich foods, and warm herbal teas (like ginger and Tulsi tea). To prevent recurrence, reduce stress through meditation, Pranayama (breathing exercises), and regular yoga. Surya Namaskar and Kapalbhati Pranayama help balance energy and remove toxins. If the warts persist, Agnikarma therapy (cauterization with heat) under an Ayurvedic expert can provide permanent relief. Follow these remedies with patience, and your skin will gradually heal. Let me know if you need a personalized treatment plan! Stay healthy, and may your skin glow naturally!
