Hello Najeeb, could you share more about your current lifestyle, diet, and daily routines? Have you noticed any specific triggers for your IBS symptoms or anxiety, such as certain foods, stress, or environmental factors? Additionally, it would be helpful to know what treatments or therapies, both Ayurvedic and other, you've tried so far and how they have impacted your condition. Have you undergone any recent tests or assessments, like stool analysis, food intolerance tests, or hormone checks, to rule out other underlying factors?

It sounds like you’ve been through a long journey trying to manage IBS-M (alternating diarrhea & constipation) along with anxiety & depression. Since allopathic treatments haven’t worked well for you, a holistic approach—focusing on Ayurveda, gut healing, stress management, and diet—might bring better relief.

Given the long history of your IBS and associated anxiety and depression, addressing your condition from an Ayurvedic perspective could offer a new angle of treatment. In Ayurveda, IBS is often related to dosha imbalances, particularly Vata and sometimes Pitta. The chronic anxiety and depression may also stem from aggravated Vata, leading to restlessness and instability in the mind. Here is how you can integrate Ayurveda into your lifestyle for possible relief. Firstly, diet plays an essential role. Focus on consuming meals that pacify Vata. These include warm, soft, and mildly-spiced foods. Soupy rice, well-cooked vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes, or easily digestible grains like oats are advisable. Avoid cold, raw, or dry foods such as salads and crackers, which can disturb Vata further. Consuming ginger tea before meals may improve digestion by enhancing Agni (digestive fire). Incorporate a consistent daily routine. A regular schedule calms Vata, so wake up early in the morning and sleep by 10 PM. Gentle exercises such as yoga or a light walk can also help in managing stress and keeping the body's rhythms steady. Pranayama, particularly Anulom Vilom and alternate nostril breathing, can balance the energies and soothe the mind. Abhyanga, or a daily self-massage with warm sesame oil, can significantly reduce Vata-related symptoms. It can ease muscle tension related to anxiety and improve skin health, contributing to overall relaxation. Herbal remedies such as Ashwagandha may support managing anxiety and depression. It's suggested to take it in the form of churna or capsules under guidance. Triphala, taken at bedtime, can help regulate bowel movements without irritation. Lastly, consistent meditation or mindfulness practices can play a crucial role in mitigating anxiety and depression, leading to improved IBS symptoms. If symptoms persist, seek ayurvedic consultation for further personalized treatment. Avoid experimenting with herbs without professional oversight, especially given the complexity of your condition. Stay consistent with your approached lifestyle and adjustments for the best outcome.
