Erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation can be quite distressing, especially after such prolonged lifestyle factors like excess mastubation and smoking. Good news, you’ve already taken a strong step by leaving behind those habits. From an Ayurvedic perspective, these issues are often linked to imbalances in the vata dosha, and possibly pitta as well, affecting the proper functioning of the reproductive tissues (Shukra dhatu).
Firstly, focus on nourishing the Shukra dhatu. Consuming foods rich in ghee, milk, nuts, seeds & whole grains can naturally replenish this tissue. Incorporating almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds and dates into your daily diet can be beneficial. Make sure to soak nuts overnight to aid digestion.
You may also consider the use of certain ayurvedic herbs. Ashwagandha and Shatavari are often recommended for their aphrodisiac properties and ability to support stamina and sexual vitality. About 1-2 teaspoons of Ashwagandha churna boiled in milk taken twice daily can help. For Shatavari, infuse half a teaspoon of powder in warm water or milk.
To specifically address Vata imbalance, which can cause anxiety leading to premature ejaculation, regular practices of yoga and meditation should be adopted. Poses like Uttanasana and Bhujangasana encourage blood flow and alleviate stress. Even deep breathing exercises, like Pranayama, practiced daily for 10-15 minutes, can calm the mind and reduce stress.
Abhyanga, or regular oil massage with sesame oil, can also help in balancing Vata dosha. Consider massaging the whole body twice a week, giving special attention to the soles of the feet and scalp.
Lifestyle adjustments are needed, too. Aim for a regular sleep schedule, avoid excessive screen time before bed, and maintain physical activity. This will support overall vitality and stress management. Avoid spicy and overly bitter foods as these could push Pitta dosha out of balance.
Finally, it’s crucial to consult with qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for a comprehensive assessment. As each person’s body reacts differently, they can provide a personalized approach that considers your unique constitution.
