Mouth ulcers can indeed be quite bothersome, especially when they keep coming back. Now, from an Ayurvedic perspective, these ulcers are often linked to an imbalance in your pitta dosha, which governs heat and transformation in the body. When this pitta is out of balance, it can create excess heat, affecting your oral mucosa and leading to these painful sores.

Firstly, I’d suggest reviewing your diet. Incorporating more cooling and calming foods can be beneficial. Try to eat more pitta-pacifying foods such as cucumbers, melons, and green leafy vegetables. Avoid spicy, oily, or acidic foods, as they can aggravate pitta. Also, it’s important to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water and herbal teas like chamomile or coriander, which can help soothe the mouth.

You might also consider incorporating Triphala into your daily routine. This Ayurvedic herbal formulation supports digestion and detoxification. Take 1/2 teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bed. This can help balance pitta and improve overall digestion.

On the topical front, applying honey or coconut oil directly to the ulcers can offer relief. These substances have cooling and antimicrobial properties, soothing the affected areas. Applying a thin paste of turmeric and honey, known for its healing properties, can also speed up recovery.

Maintaining good oral hygiene is vital. Rinsing with a decoction of neem leaves or using a natural mouthwash can help prevent bacterial growth that could worsen ulcers. Remember not to brush too forcefully, which can irritate the sores further.

Stress and irregular sleep patterns can also contribute to pitta imbalances. Incorporate mindfulness practices such as yoga or meditation into your routine, focusing on calming your nerves and promoting relaxation.

Lastly, if these remedies do not lead to improvement, or if the ulcers are unusually large or persistent, it’s essential to seek urgent medical advice to rule out any other underlying conditions that might require specific attention.
