Missing a period can be unsettling, especially with the circumstances you've shared. Given that your pregnancy test came out negative, it's possible there might be other factors affecting your cycle. In Ayurveda, a missed period could be due to various reasons like stress, a vata dosha imbalance, or dietary and lifestyle factors. Let's consider ways to support your menstrual health using ayurvedic principles. First, focus on calming vata dosha, as this is often associated with irregular cycles. Consuming warm, cooked meals, especially those easy to digest, can help maintain a healthy digestive fire or agni. You might want to include kitchari, mung dal, ghee, and plenty of warm soups. Also, avoid processed foods and cold, raw meals which can cause imbalance. Herbs such as ashwagandha, shatavari, and guduchi are known to support hormonal balance but ensure to consult a qualified practitioner before starting any new herbal regimen. Another helpful practice is abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil), which can help ground excess vata. Doing this regularly can also soothe the nervous system, supporting a more regular cycle. Additionally, a daily routine (or dinacharya) can bring consistency and balance to your mind-body clock. Rising early, doing gentle yoga or pranayama, especially focusing on calming techniques, can promote regularity. If your periods are still absent after trying these methods for a few weeks, I recommend seeking an in-person consultation with a healthcare provider or an ayurvedic practitioner. It's imperative to rule out any other underlying causes. And remember, if you're concerned about potential pregnancy, consider repeating the pregnancy test or consulting a doctor for further advice.
