how to use sandalwood stick for face - #25904

Ellie

I am kinda confused and hoping I can get some help! For a while now, I've been dealing with breakouts and dull skin—like, nothing seems to work. A friend mentioned how to use sandalwood stick for face treatments, and honestly, I’m intrigued but also a bit lost. I've heard it can help with acne and lighten scars? I even bought a sandalwood stick last week but have no clue what to do with it! I tried rubbing it on my face but it’s so dry! Am I supposed to mix it with something? Do I need to make a paste or is just using it directly enough? Also, I read that you can make a mask with it by mixing with rose water, but like, how much should I use? I really hope this can clear up my skin... I don't wanna waste it! Has anyone had good results or maybe faced issues with sandalwood? Thanks a ton, guys! Really need your input.

Using a sandalwood stick for facial treatments is a traditional Ayurvedic remedy, famous for its cooling and calming effects on the skin. To tackle issues like acne, dullness, or scars, here's a way you can smoothly integrate it into your routine. First off, you're right about not using the stick directly. Sandalwood's beneficial compounds are best absorbed by the skin when turned into a fine paste. Here's how to do it: slightly moisten the sandalwood stick by sprinkling some water on a clean surface — actually a smooth stone works best, like a rubbing stone. Then, gently rub the stick in circular motions to release its fine paste. Now, about mixing with rose water— it's a good choice as it enhances the soothing properties. How much should you use, you ask? Aim for about a teaspoonful of paste blended with a tablespoon of rose water. If your skin is sensitive, ensure the rose water is 100% natural & without artificial additives— better safe than sorry, right? Apply this mix evenly on your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. It’s really great for reducing blemishes over time, as sandalwood has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Use this mask maybe 2-3 times a week based on how your skin responds. In ayurveda, it's key to observe how your skin feels after each session — if any irritation occurs, consider discontinuing it or consulting a dermatologist. Remember not all skin reacts same way. Just a quick note though: always do a patch test on a small part of your skin before the full application to ensure no allergic reactions. Especially because sandalwood, while natural, might act differently on individual skin types. If persistent or severe acne issues continue, please consider consulting with a healthcare provider for tailored advice.
