Given your symptoms and background, addressing the imbalance in your diet and lifestyle seems vital to managing your high blood pressure and overall health. Ayurveda encourages balancing the doshas, with Vata and Kapha likely being prominent in your case due to the food cravings, fatigue, and scanty hair.
First, regarding diet to manage both cravings and BP, focus on naturally sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes. Include plenty of fresh vegetables like leafy greens, carrots, and fruit such as apples and pears. Whole grains, particularly barley and millet, can help stabilize your energy levels. Avoid processed foods, especially those high in salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats, to support your blood pressure management. Try eating regular meals at the same time each day, ideally with lunch being your largest meal; it can help regulate your cravings by stabilizing your Agni – the digestive fire.
Hydration is key, aim for sipping warm water throughout the day which can help with detoxification and stimulate digestion. You could add a pinch of cinnamon or basil leaves to the water to enhance detoxification effects.
Incorporate gentle exercise, such as morning walks or yoga - both are efficient in balancing Kapha and Vata energies, reducing weight and regulating BP. Pranayama, specifically Nadi Shodhana or alternate nostril breathing, can also be beneficial for calming Vata dosha and enhancing overall energy levels.
Regarding scanty hair, nourishing your scalp with warm bhringraj oil can support hair health. Massage gently daily and leave it for at least an hour before washing. It not only helps with hair growth but also calms the mind, supporting stress management—a vital part of treating high blood pressure spiritually and physically.
It’s essential to foster a routine ensures enough restful sleep. Aim for sleeping by 10 pm, and create a calming bedtime ritual—perhaps a warm bath before sleep, or reading a soothing book.
Though these Ayurvedic suggestions are valuable, remember hypertension can be critical if not tended properly. Regular physician checks and possible allopathic integration become important part of a safer holistic treatment plan.
