Hi Taiba,

First thing is need to address the cause for hairfall. Do you have Thyroid? Or any other health conditions please specify that. Also do you have dandruff? Since when are you facing this issue?

Few Lifestyle changes: Wash your hair every Alternate day as you mentioned you have an oily scalp.

Do not use hot water for hair wash, you can use normal water or lukewarm water.

Do not comb while your hair are wet.

Do not use any heating agents to dry or straighten your hair, let it air dry.

Remedies: 1. You can Apply Triphala hair mask • Triphala churna +curd - make a hair pack and apply atleast twice a month. This will cleanse your scalp and help in hair growth.

2. Make a hairpack with Aloevera gel + hibiscus flowers + methi seeds (soak overnight) + curry leaves - make a fine paste by grinding them together - apply on your scalp and hair-leave for about 30-40mins & wash off.

Few recommendations:

1. Neelibhringadi hair oil (kerala Ayurveda) - apply 1-2 hour before headbath and wash off.

2. Kumari Shampoo by revinto or Trichup Shampoo by Vasu pharma.

Internal medications I can’t prescribe based on the limited history that you have given.

Diet suggestions:

Include black raisins - soak 7-8 at night and have them in morning - best for skin and hair.

Have all fruits/ leafy vegetables- maintain a balanced Diet.

Hope This helps.

Avoid junk foods.

Hello Taiba I understand your concern. At age 20, increasing hair fall with an oily scalp usually indicates Pitta–Kapha imbalance along with weak digestion or stress. So dont worry we are here to help you out😊

✅Why Hair Fall Happens (in your case)

Oily scalp + dandruff - weakens roots. Pitta aggravation -overheating, premature hair loss. Stress / irregular diet- poor nourishment of hair (Asthi & Majja dhatu). Nutrient deficiency – Vit D, iron, B12 often linked.

✅HOME REMEDIES for Oily Scalp & Hair Fall

✅External (Scalp Care)

1. Neem + Amla Hair Rinse – Boil neem leaves + dry amla, cool, strain and rinse scalp twice a week. Reduces oiliness & strengthens roots.

2. Bhringraj oil massage – Warm oil, massage gently at night 2–3 times a week, wash in morning. Nourishes follicles, improves thickness

3. Aloe vera gel (fresh) – Apply on scalp once weekly to balance excess oil.

✅Internal (Herbal Support)

1 Amla powder (½ tsp daily with warm water or honey).

2 Bhringraj powder (½ tsp with honey or in milk at night).

3 Jeevamrutham 1 tsp at bedtime followed by warm water– improves digestion, clears toxins.

✅DIET AND LIFESTYLE for Hair Growth

Eat fresh, home-cooked, seasonal food.

Include: soaked almonds, walnuts, black sesame, coconut, curry leaves, leafy greens.

Avoid: excess spicy, fried, junk food (aggravates Pitta & weakens roots).

Drink plenty of warm water, herbal teas (coriander, fennel).

Manage stress - yoga, pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhramari).

With consistency, you can expect reduced fall in 1–2 months and visible regrowth in 3–6 months.

Wishing you a good health😊

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

For increasing hair fall with oily scalp, let’s start by balancing your doshas, especially focusing on Kapha and Pitta. Here are some practical steps you can take at home:

1. Scalp Care: Use a mixture of aloe vera gel and neem oil for your scalp. Aloe vera is excellent for balancing oil and providing nourishment, while neem oil has antifungal properties that can help cleanse the scalp. Apply the mix once a week, leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse it off with a mild herbal shampoo.

2. Hair Rinse: After shampooing, rinse your hair with a concoction of amla (Indian gooseberry) and reetha (soapnut). Boil these in water, strain, and use the water as a final rinse. This helps in reducing oiliness and strengthens the hair follicles.

3. Diet: Make sure your diet is rich in foods like sesame seeds, almonds, and green leafy vegetables. These are high in essential fatty acids and vitamins which are crucial for hair health. Also, hydrate well with plenty of water and herbal teas like tulsi or mint.

4. Lifestyle Changes: Incorporate regular physical activity like yoga, with specific asanas like Shirshasana and Sarvangasana to improve blood circulation to the scalp. Avoid stress as much as you can through pranayama and meditation.

5. Herbal Supplement: Consider taking Ayurvedic supplements like Bhringraj powder or Brahmi, but consult with an Ayurvedic physician to tailor the supplement dosage to your specific needs.

Observe the above routine regularly and expect some changes between 3 to 6 months, as natural remedies often require time to show significant improvements. Remember, consistency is key in such natural regimens. If your condition worsens, though, consult with a healthcare professional for more personalised advice.
