alcohol what to drink to last longer in bed - #37090

Lucas

I am really trying to figure out this issue I’ve been having. I’ve noticed that when I drink alcohol, it kinda messes with my performance in bed. Like, I want to enjoy the moment but sometimes I feel like I just don't last long enough, you know? It's frustrating because I like having a couple of drinks to relax and get into the mood, but then the whole experience is kinda over before it starts. A friend suggested maybe switching up what I drink. Like, what to drink to last longer in bed? I’ve tried mixing different cocktails, sticking to beer, and even just going for wine, but nothing seems to work! It’s like the more I drink alcohol, the worse it gets. Do certain drinks or types of alcohol have an effect on stamina or anything? I just want to enjoy those intimate moments without the pressure of it all crashing down because of a drink! Anyone have advice on this? Should I avoid alcohol altogether or is there something specific to sip on that could help me last longer in bed? Thanks!

From an Ayurvedic perspective, alcohol influences our doshic balance and can impact the body’s natural rhythms, especially regarding sexual performance. While looking for a specific alcoholic beverage to improve stamina might seem appealing, Ayurvedic wisdom suggests a different approach. Alcohol, in moderate amounts, tends to increase pitta dosha, which can initially stimulate but eventually lead to imbalance, affecting performance.

It’s not so much about the type of alcohol, but how it interacts with your unique constitution. If your current alcohol consumption is leading to decreased performance, trying to adjust your drinking habits or the amount may actually be more effective. Wine, particularly red, is sometimes considered more ‘sattvic’ – it has qualities of moderation and purity – but it is still best consumed in moderation.

Rather than relying on alcohol, consider strengthening underlying factors of vitality. Ashwagandha, a potent adaptogen, is known in Ayurveda for enhancing stamina and energy. Taking a powdered form mixed with warm milk can be beneficial.

Pay attention to your diet, as well. Foods that enhance ojas, the essence of vitality, like almonds, dates, or ghee, can be integrated into your meals. Ensure your digestion (agni) is not hampered by excessive alcohol. Start by moderating to a couple of drinks, ensuring you don’t overdo it as your performance directly correlates to both mental and physical states, which are disturbed by overconsumption.

When it comes to relaxation, practice meditative techniques or yoga to reduce stress levels without impacting the doshic balance. Yoga asanas focusing on strengthening lower body, like Virasana, can enhance stability.

However, if the issue persists, it might be good to seek a consultation with a practitioner skilled in both Ayurveda and modern medicine, considering alcohol might be covering other issues that need addressing.
