Shatavari, known in Ayurvedic terms as a powerful Rasayana, can indeed provide support following an abortion and while trying to conceive again. According to Ayurveda, Shatavari is particularly valued for its ability to strengthen the female reproductive system, nourish the body, and promote fertility. Its cooling and nourishing properties can help balance Pitta and support reproductive tissues (known as shukra dhatu).

When considering Shatavari, quality and proper dosage are essential. Typically, Shatavari is available in powder form, tablet, or liquid extract. A common dosage is about 1 teaspoon of powdered Shatavari, mixed with a glass of warm milk and taken twice daily after meals. If using tablets, follow the instructions provided on the product, usually around 500mg to 1 gram twice a day. However, it’d be ideal to consult with a practitioner knowledgeable in Ayurveda to adjust the dosage that might suit your specific constitution and needs.

Alongside Shatavari, focus on a Sattvic diet—nourishing, cooked foods such as whole grains, steamed vegetables, and healthy fats like ghee. Avoid excessively spicy, oily, or processed foods, as these might aggravate Pitta. Incorporating meditation or gentle yoga can also be beneficial to maintain a balanced mind and body, crucial while trying to conceive.

Remember, balance is key in Ayurveda. Too much emphasis on any single herb or treatment could lead to imbalance, so ensuring a holistic approach to wellness during this time is ideal. Lastly, if you have any ongoing medical conditions or take other medications, checking with a healthcare professional is advisable before starting any new supplement.
