I am having constipation and problem in bowel movement ,my age 53 years and my weight is 45 kgs ( 5ft 3") , I am lactose intolerant and often have Gerd in the morning before breakfast.

1. Triphala Churna – 1 tsp with lukewarm water at bedtime ( Gentle laxative, detoxifies intestines and relieves bloating.)
2. Avipattikar Churna – ½ tsp twice daily before breakfast and dinner with warm water (Balances Pitta, relieves acidity, and promotes smooth bowel movements.)
3. Hingvashtak Churna – ¼ tsp with first bite of lunch (Reduces gas, bloating, and improves digestion.)
👉 For GERD & Morning Acidity
1. Shatavari Gulam – 1 tsp twice daily with water ( Soothes Pitta, reduces burning and acid reflux.)

Warm, freshly cooked soft foods — moong dal khichdi, rice gruel (kanji), steamed vegetables. Cumin, fennel, coriander, and ajwain water for digestion. 1 tsp cow ghee or sesame oil daily for colon lubrication. Herbal teas (ginger + cardamom or jeera + coriander).

Milk and dairy (since lactose intolerant). Spicy, sour, fermented foods, fried items, coffee, tea, cold drinks. Raw salads at night.
✅LIFESTYLE GUIDELINES
Drink 1 glass of warm water early morning with a pinch of rock salt. Practice Vajrasana for 5–10 minutes after meals to aid digestion. Regular bowel routine — go at the same time every day even if urge is mild. Avoid suppressing natural urges and manage stress with Anulom Vilom pranayama daily. Maintain regular sleep schedule — avoid late nights.

First, dietary adjustments can make a signifcant difference. Since you’re lactose intolerant, avoid all dairy products which can exacerbate your digestion issues. Opt for almond or rice milk as alternatives. Consume warm, cooked foods to encourage smooth digestion, preferably stews or soups incorporating vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach. Avoid raw salads as they can disrupt your Vata.
Hydration is crucial. Start your day with a glass of warm water with a squeeze of lemon — it can stimulate agni (digestive fire) and promote regular bowel movements. Throughout the day, drink lukewarm water instead of cold to maintain proper digestion.
