how to improve sex duration - #39607

Evelyn

I am really struggling with something and need some advice on how to improve sex duration. Last week, after a lovely dinner, I felt all romantic with my partner, but honestly, things were over way too quickly. I mean, it was like just a few minutes and then poof! My mind was racing about how to improve sex duration. We’ve been together for a while, and it’s a bit awkward to bring it up sometimes, ya know? I’ve tried some breathing exercises and even pelvic floor exercises that I read about online, but nothing seems to be working. Last month I even tried to incorporate some herbal supplements. Maybe something Ayurvedic could help? I hear stuff like ashwagandha is supposed to be calming or something? I know this might seem a bit tmi, but we wanna have more fun and less pressure. Really want to know—how to improve sex duration in a healthy way and maybe without relying too much on pills? Is there a specific regimen or diet or something I could try? Just feel a bit lost at the moment and would appreciate any insights from the group!

To enhance the duration of intercourse through Ayurvedic principles, understanding your dosha (body type) is crucial, as it could indicate an imbalance. It’s possible that excessive Pitta, which governs metabolism, could be at play creating heat and urgency, or perhaps a Vata imbalance which drives restlessness and sensitivity. Consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner can help assess this more precisely.

The first step is to consider grounding foods and herbs to balance your doshas. Ashwagandha is indeed beneficial, particularly if anxiety or stress is a factor. It can slow things down by calming the mind. Take around 1-2 teaspoons of its powder mixed in warm milk before bed consistently. But remember, don’t expect overnight results; Ayurvedic herbs take time to work with the body naturally.

Besides ashwagandha, Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) could be very effective. It supports reproductive system strength. Take a teaspoon of Gokshura powder with warm water in the morning. Dietary changes are essential too—aim for nourishing, ooujas (vitality-boosting), and lubricating foods. Include more ghee, sesame oil, almonds, dates and milk to promote Shukra dhatu (reproductive tissue) health. Avoid overly spicy, caffeinated, or late-night meals, as they can exacerbate Pitta leading to quickness.

Exercise regularly and practice yoga poses that enhance pelvic muscle strength, like the pelvic bridge, malasana (deep squat), and bhujangasana (cobra pose). Couple these with pranayama (breath control) such as Bhramari, which supports calmness. Remember that emotional and mental states have a large influence; mutual understanding with your partner is key. Open, non-judgmental conversations can ease performance pressures that might be contributing to your struggles.

Consistent daily routines, Dinacharya, should not be underestimated. Such regularity stabilizes Vata and can bring a delightful rhythm to life. Your regimen might include a foot massage with sesame oil, yoga at sunrise, and a planned methodical approach to your day, highlighting tranquility rather than performance anxiety. These step-by-step integrative practices can certainly help transform your experience in a sustainable way.
