HELLO,
Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) means the tissues around your shoulder joint get inflamed and thickened , making movement painful and stiff. -This makes the shoulder capsule more likely to become tight, leading to pain and difficulty lifting the arm. -Often it starts in one shoulder and then the other may get involved
SYMPTOMS YOU MAY NOTICE -Dull or aching pain, worse at night -Stiffness- can’t lift hand overhead, can’t comb hair, can’t reach behind back -Three stages :- Freezing (pain more, movement less)-> frozen (stiffness dominates)-> Thawing (slow recovery)
AYURVEDIC VIEW -Called Avabahuka in Ayurveda- a vata disorder in the shoulder region
TREATMENT GOALS -reduce pain and inflamamtion -improve shoulder mobility -correct vata-kapha imbalance -strengthen muscles and tendons around the shoulder

You can use Dhanwantaram tailam -gentle massage over shoulder to be done daily twice, and then followed by warm fomentation
In Ayurveda, addressing a frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, involves balancing the Vata dosha, which tends to be aggravated in such conditions. The application of warming and nourishing oils can assist in alleviating stiffness and enhancing movement.
For your concerns, Mahanarayana Taila is often recommended. This classical Ayurvedic oil is revered for its ability to pacify Vata and provide deep nourishment to the tissues, promoting joint flexibility. To use it, warm the oil slightly—just enough to be comfortably applied on your skin. Massage it gently onto the shoulder area, focusing on the back side where you experience movement restriction. Do this ideally in the morning or evening when you have some leisure time, allowing the oil to penetrate and work effectively. Follow the application with a hot compress or warm towel to facilitate oil absorption into the deeper tissues.
Beyond Mahanarayana Taila, Dhanvantaram Taila is another option—it’s especially beneficial in combination with mild heat application. Both oils can be found commonly at Ayurvedic stores or online. Do ensure the quality is authentic, as potency can vary.
While external application can be quite beneficial, internal balance also plays a crucial role. Ensure your diet is warm and nourishing, avoiding foods that are cold, dry, and raw. Incorporate spices like ginger and cumin to aid digestion and stimulate Agni, your digestive fire.
In addressing the limited success with physiotherapy alone, combining these Ayurvedic practices might offer holistic relief. However, ensure you’re continuing physiotherapy too, as it’s important to maintain joint mobility. Should symptoms persist or worsen, consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner could offer further personalized options. Remember, healing often requires a blend of approaches tailored to your individual constitution.
You can apply Bala ashwagandha taila / Mahanarayana taila for frozen shoulder
