To detox kidneys and improve urine smell, it’s essential to address both your water intake and overall health balance. Start by increasing your water consumption gradually; aim for around 8-10 glasses a day, depending on your body constitution and activity levels. Adequate hydration helps flush out toxins and maintain kidney function.

Ayurvedic wisdom suggests incorporating herbs like Punarnava, Gokshura, and Varun for urinary health. These can be consumed as herbal teas or supplements, but be sure to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for the right dosage and form suitable for you. These herbs are known to support kidney function and reduce urinary tract infections by maintaining a healthy urine flow.

Diet plays a critical role. Emphasize fresh fruits and veggies like cucumbers, watermelons, and berries, as these are hydrating and rich in antioxidants. Avoid processed foods high in salt and preservatives, as they can put extra strain on kidneys. Instead, incorporate Moong dal and barley water, both gentle on kidneys and help detoxify.

Practicing yoga postures like Bhujangasana (cobra pose) and Ardha Matsyendrasana (spinal twist) can promote circulation and energy flow, beneficial for kidney health. Coupled with regular pranayama, these practices aid in overall detoxification process.

Importantly, monitor the severity of your symptoms. If the strong odor persists or you have signs of infection like pain or burning, seek immediate medical attention to prevent further complications. While Ayurvedic practices support health, they complement but do not replace conventional medical care in acute situations.

Lastly, stress management is key. Stress often exacerbates imbalances, so consider meditation or mindfulness practices to maintain inner peace and promote bodily harmony. Making these changes slow and consistent will be more sustainable and effective for long-term kidney health.

Addressing kidney health and urine odor requires a comprehensive approach. Begin by staying hydrated; aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. Water helps flush out toxins and supports kidney function. Cucumber and coconut water, in particular, are advised, as they can naturally cleanse the system without overloading it.

Consider incorporating herbal remedies like punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) and gokshura (Tribulus terrestris). These herbs are traditionally used in Siddha-Ayurveda to support kidney health. You can take them in powder form—half a teaspoon mixed with warm water, twice a day. Ensure the powders are from a reputable source.

Diet plays a critical role too. Reduce intake of salt, processed foods, and proteins, which can strain the kidneys. Fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those with high water content, like watermelons and citrus fruits like amla, are beneficial.

Tuning into your body’s dosha balance is valuable; if vata is predominant, grounding foods and warm fluids help. Pitta imbalance might call for cooling foods, reducing spicy foods. Kapha requires lighter, detoxifying meals.

Sometimes, a strong smell in urine indicates imbalance in agni, the digestive fire. Consider introducing triphala - take a teaspoon in warm water before bed. It supports healthy digestion and detoxification, enhancing kidney function.

Regular yoga and pranayama also promote good kidney health by improving circulation and energy flow through nadis. Finally, if urine odor persists, consult a healthcare professional to rule out infections or other underlying issues.
