Hello Hair​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ greying from 18 years of age is indicative of early Palitya, which is a very common phenomenon nowadays due to factors such as stress, nutritional deficiency, Pitta aggravation, and genetics.

-5 number glasses point out that the eye muscles are weak and there is a Vata-Pitta imbalance in Ayurvedic terms.

–Eyesight can get better to a certain extent (0.5 to 1 number) and the further deterioration can be put on hold by means of proper Ayurvedic & lifestyle care

You started greying at 18, which means your hair roots lost pigment very early this usually happens due to genetics, stress, low minerals, or weak nourishment to the scalp. Henna gives orange colour because your natural base hair is light; that’s normal, not your fault. Greying that has already happened will not fully turn black again, but you can slow down further greying, improve hair strength, and reduce dryness with the right internal and external care.

Regarding your -5 number, eyesight cannot fully reverse at this stage, but it can be improved slightly and stabilised so it doesn’t increase further. Ayurveda helps strengthen eye muscles and reduce strain.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Early Greying

Internal Medicines (2–3 months)

Amla Capsule or Powder – 1 capsule twice daily OR 1 teaspoon powder at night with warm water. Bhringraj Capsule/Tablets – 1 tablet twice daily after meals. Triphala Churna – ½ teaspoon at night with warm water. Nilibhringadi Keram (external) – apply on scalp 2–3 times/week at night and wash in morning.

If dryness and brittleness are severe

Keshya Rasayana Lehyam – 1 teaspoon daily at night. Better Alternative to Henna

To avoid orange colour: Mix Henna + Indigo powder – 60% henna + 40% indigo gives natural brown shade – 30% henna + 70% indigo gives darker brown – 100% indigo on top of henna gives almost black

This looks natural and avoids the orange tone.

For Eyesight (-5 power) (It will not become zero, but slight improvement & stabilising is possible)

Internal Support Triphala Ghrita – ½ teaspoon at night with warm milk OR warm water. Saptamrita Lauh – 1 tablet twice daily after food.

When Pitta in the hair roots remains aggravated for many years, the melanin-producing cells (hair follicle melanocytes) slow down, causing early greying.

Your high screen-time and -5 number glasses also suggest ocular strain and Pitta–Vata involvement around the eye area, which can indirectly influence premature greying because the optic–scalp region shares common energy channels (Siras).

Ayurveda’s approach here will focus on cooling the scalp, nourishing the roots, supporting melanin function, reducing dryness, and improving overall eye health to reduce strain.

That balance—between classical Ayurvedic drishtis and modern diagnostic tools—is what I’m always aiming for. I also try to explain things to patients in a way they’ll get it. Because unless they’re on board and actually involved, no healing really works long-term, right? It’s not all picture-perfect. Sometimes I still re-read my Samhitas when I'm stuck or double check new case patterns. And sometimes my notes are a mess :) But I do try to keep learning and adapting while still keeping the core of Ayurveda intact.

I don’t rush into giving churnas or kashayams just bcz the texts say so... I try to see what fits the patient’s prakriti, daily habits, emotional pattern etc. It’s not textbook-perfect every time, but that’s where the real skill grows I guess. I do a lot of thinking abt cause vs symptom—sometimes it's not the problem you see that actually needs solving first. What I care about most is making sure the treatment is safe, ethical, practical, and honest. No overpromising, no pushing meds that don’t fit. And I’m always reading or discussing sth—old Samhitas or recent journals, depends what the case demands. My goal really is to build a practice where people feel seen & understood, not just “managed.” That's where healing actually begins, right?

My main focus is managing ano-rectal disorders like piles (Arsha), fistula-in-ano (Bhagandara), fissure-in-ano (Parikartika), pilonidal sinus, and rectal polyps. These are often more complex than they look at first, and they get misdiagnosed or overtreated in a lotta places. That’s where our classical tools come in—Ksharasutra therapy, Agnikarma, and a few other para-surgical techniques we follow from the Samhitas...they’ve been lifesavers honestly. My work here pushes me to keep refining surgical precision while also sticking to the Ayurvedic core. I do rely on modern diagnostics when needed, but I won’t replace the value of a well-done Nadi Pariksha or assessing dosha-vikruti in depth. Most of my patients come with pain, fear, and usually after a couple of rounds of either incomplete surgeries or just being fed painkillers n antibiotics. And I totally get that frustration. That’s why I combine surgery with a whole support plan—Ayurvedic meds, diet changes, lifestyle tweaks that actually match their prakriti. Not generic stuff off a handout.
