Hello I get how annoying and stressful it is when your period just won’t quit, especially when your cycles are already all over the place and you’re dealing with a demanding IT job. When the bleeding just drags on, you start to worry something’s seriously wrong. But, chill, this is super common and we are here to help you out 😊 YOUR CONCERN So, from what you’ve said, it looks like this: – Period’s been going for 9 days – Now it’s just spotting, but it won’t stop completely – Your cycles are usually irregular anyway – This is the first time you’ve had bleeding this long – You’re under a lot of stress – The flow is light, no pain or clots This sounds like a hormone thing, not something structural. *WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS- In Ayurveda, this is called Asrigdara (Raktapradara) which means your period is lasting too long or is just irregular. Your symptoms point to – Pitta Dosha being out of whack → makes the bleeding keep going – Apana Vata being off → your uterus isn’t closing things off properly – Stress → messing with your hormones So, even if the bleeding is light, it won’t stop because – Your blood’s a bit too hot (Pitta) – Your uterus is a bit weak (Vata) – Your hormones are all jumbled up That’s why you’re spotting. ARE LODHRA and ASHOKARISHTA GOOD CHOICES? Yes you got it. These are usually the go-to medicines for what you’re dealing with. They basically: – Tone your uterus – Control the bleeding – Balance your hormones They fix the problem, not just the bleeding. THE AYURVEDA PLAN 1 Ashokarishta Take 15 ml mixed with the same amount of water Twice a day after your meals This will: – Stop the weird bleeding – Make your uterus stronger – Get your cycles back on track 2. Lodhra Churna Take ½ teaspoon twice a day With warm water This will: – Tighten up the blood vessels in your uterus – Cut down on the spotting – Keep Pitta in check To stop things faster and get your hormones stable – Add: Praval Pishti – 125 mg twice a day With honey or water This will: – Cool down your blood – Stop the spotting fast – Help with your hemoglobin levels FOOD & LIFESTYLE (SUPER IMPORTANT) AVOID –Tea, coffee – Spicy and fried stuff –Chocolate – Late night – Skipping meals These all pump up Pitta and the bleeding INCLUDE – Rice, dal – Pomegranate – Coconut water – Apple – Buttermilk – Warm, cooked food WHAT TO EXPECT – Spotting should slow down in 3–5 days – Bleeding should stop completely in 7–10 days – Your cycles should start to get regular in a month or two WHEN TO FREAK OUT (A LITTLE) See a doctor if: – The bleeding gets heavy – You’re soaking through pads every hour – You feel faint or super weak This happened because stress messed with your hormones, not because you have some scary disease. Starting Lodhra, Ashokarishta, and Praval Pishti is the right move. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

- From what you described: Light but prolonged spotting (9 days) No pain or other symptoms Irregular cycles every few months High stress (IT job) This pattern is very commonly linked to: Hormonal imbalance Stress-related ovulatory issues In Ayurvedic terms: Pitta + Vata imbalance, affecting Artava dhatu (menstrual regulation) - You can take both, but carefully. 🌿 Medicines & dose Lodhra churna: ½ tsp twice daily after meals with lukewarm water → Take for 5–7 days to stop spotting Ashokarishta: 15 ml twice daily after meals with equal water → Continue for 1–2 months for cycle regulation ⚠ Important If bleeding goes beyond 10–12 days, stop self-medication & see a gynecologist and if u will consult us then do following investigation - CBC TSH PROLACTIN LH,FSH USG Pelvis and adnexa - If you feel acidity or heat, stop Ashokarishta - Quick tips Reduce stress, avoid spicy/junk food Sleep well

I UNDERSTAND YOUR WORRY AND I WANT TO REASSURE YOU THAT YOU HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING BY SEEKING GUIDANCE BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH YOUR PERIODS ARE IRREGULAR PROLONGED SPOTTING FOR NINE DAYS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED FROM AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE THIS KIND OF CONTINUOUS LIGHT BLEEDING IS COMMONLY SEEN WHEN PITTA DOSHA BECOMES AGGRAVATED AND VATA ALSO LOSES ITS NORMAL DIRECTION DUE TO MENTAL STRESS IRREGULAR DAILY ROUTINE LATE WORKING HOURS AND CONSTANT PRESSURE WHICH IS VERY COMMON IN THE IT SECTOR WHEN THE BODY AND MIND ARE UNDER STRESS THE HORMONAL RHYTHM GETS DISTURBED AND THE UTERINE LINING DOES NOT SHED PROPERLY LEADING TO PROLONGED SPOTTING IN SUCH CASES LODHRA IS A VERY IMPORTANT HERB BECAUSE IT HAS A STAMBHANA AND PITTA SHAMANA ACTION WHICH MEANS IT HELPS TO CONTROL UNNECESSARY BLEEDING AND STRENGTHENS THE UTERINE TISSUES YOU CAN TAKE LODHRA CHURNA HALF TEASPOON TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD WITH HONEY OR LUKEWARM WATER AND IF CHURNA IS NOT AVAILABLE YOU MAY TAKE ONE LODHRA CAPSULE TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD ALONG WITH THIS ASHOKARISHTA CAN BE USED AS IT HELPS TO TONE THE UTERUS SUPPORT HORMONAL BALANCE AND REGULATE IRREGULAR CYCLES YOU CAN TAKE ASHOKARISHTA FIFTEEN ML MIXED WITH EQUAL QUANTITY OF WATER TWICE DAILY AFTER MEALS THIS COMBINATION IS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE FOR LIGHT BUT PROLONGED BLEEDING SINCE THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THERE ARE NO OTHER SYMPTOMS LIKE PAIN HEAVY FLOW OR WEAKNESS THERE IS NO NEED TO PANIC BUT SUPPORTING THE BODY GENTLY IS IMPORTANT TO PREVENT RECURRENCE BECAUSE STRESS IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTING FACTOR I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST ADDING MUKTA PISHTI OR PRAVAL PISHTI ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE MG ONCE DAILY AT NIGHT WITH MILK OR HONEY FOR TEN TO FIFTEEN DAYS AS THIS HELPS TO COOL EXCESS PITTA CALM THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IMPROVE SLEEP AND SUPPORT PROPER HORMONAL SIGNALING DURING THIS TIME PLEASE AVOID SPICY SOUR FERMENTED AND VERY OILY FOODS COFFEE TEA AND LATE NIGHT WORKING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TRY TO KEEP MEALS SIMPLE AND REGULAR INCLUDE COOLING AND NOURISHING FOODS LIKE RICE MILK GHEE POMEGRANATE BOTTLE GOURD ASH GOURD AND STAY WELL HYDRATED AVOID INTENSE WORKOUTS TRAVEL AND EXCESSIVE SCREEN TIME UNTIL THE BLEEDING STOPS COMPLETELY OBSERVE THIS CYCLE CAREFULLY AND ONCE THE SPOTTING STOPS CONTINUE THE MEDICINES FOR A FEW MORE DAYS TO STABILIZE THE SYSTEM IF THIS PATTERN REPEATS IN THE NEXT CYCLE OR IF BLEEDING PERSISTS BEYOND TWELVE TO FOURTEEN DAYS THEN FURTHER EVALUATION AND A MORE DETAILED AYURVEDIC TREATMENT PLAN WILL BE REQUIRED BUT AT THIS STAGE THIS APPROACH IS APPROPRIATE SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE AND WITH PROPER REST STRESS MANAGEMENT AND CONSISTENCY IT SHOULD SETTLE WELL

I understand your concern and it is good that you have observed this change because even though your cycles are irregular prolonged spotting for nine days is new for you and should be addressed calmly from an ayurvedic point of view this kind of light but continuous bleeding is usually related to pitta aggravation along with vata imbalance and high mental stress irregular routine and long working hours especially in the IT sector often disturb the natural hormonal rhythm and uterine stability since this is the first time and there are no other symptoms there is no need to panic but timely correction will help prevent repetition To help stop the spotting and support cycle regulation you may start ayurvedic medicines Lodhra churna half teaspoon twice daily after food with honey or lukewarm water or one Lodhra capsule twice daily after food Ashokarishta fifteen ml mixed with equal quantity of water twice daily after meals Mukta pishti or Praval pishti one hundred twenty five mg once daily at night with milk or honey for ten to fifteen days Along with medicines avoid spicy sour and fermented foods reduce coffee and late nights keep meals simple and regular and avoid heavy exercise until bleeding stops completely if spotting continues beyond twelve to fourteen days or repeats in the next cycle further evaluation will be required

HELLO, You are experiencing prolonged menstrual bleeding in the form of light flow/spotting, lasting around 9 days, for the first time with a background of irregular cycles and high mental stress. This is not dangerous condition at present, but it is a warning sign from the body that your internal balance - especially hormones, stress response, and menstrual regulation-needs correction. In Ayurveda, menstruation is controlled by a subtype of Vata called Apana Vata, which governs -menstrual flow -ovulation -proper start and stop of periods Due to -mental stress -irregular routine -possibly late nights -irregular cycles over time Apana Vata becomes disturbed At the same time -mild Pitta dosha gets aggravated (due to stress, heat, mental strain) RESULT OF THIS IMBALANCE -Vata imbalance-> periods do not stop on time -Pittta imbalance-> causes continued oozing/spotting -flow is light, not heavy-> indicates functional imbalance, not structural disease In Ayurveda, this is described as a mild form of Raktapradara caused by vata-pitta vitiation, not kapha TREATMENT GOALS -gently stop the ongoing spotting -stabilize apana vata -cool and balance pitta -strengthen the uterus -regulate future cycles -prevent recurrence Aggressive “bleeding-stopping” medicines are avoided because -flow is already light -bleeding is reducing -over stopping can worsen irregular cycles later INTERNAL MEDICATIONS 1) LODHRA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp twice daily after meals with lukewarm water for 10 days can be stopped once spotting complete stops =best drug for uterine strengthening, stops spotting gently, cools pitta, improves endometrial stability 2) ASHOKARISHTA= 15ml + 15 ml warm water twice daily after meals = regulates menstrual cycle, acts on hormonal rhythm, strengthens uterine muscles, prevents future prolonged bleeding IF SPOTTING PERSISTS BEYOND 2-3 DAYS -PRAVAL PISHTI= 125mg twice daily with honey =pitta control, healing of uterine vessels, prevention of further spotting EXTERNAL THERAPIES LOWER ABDOMEN CARE -apply lukewarm castor oil -gentle clockwise massage -once daily at night -helps normalize apana vata DIET -warm, freshly cooked meals -rice,wheat, oats -moong dal -ghee small quantity -pomegranate -apple -dates 1-2 soaked -buttermilk thin, not sour AVOID -coffee, excess tea -spicy food -sour, fermented foods -packaged/junk food -cold drinks -skipping meals LIFESTYLE CORRECTIONS Your mental stress is a key factor -sleep before 11:30 pm -fixed meal timings -avoid working late nights contiuosuly -short breaks during work hours -avoid excessive screen exposure at night YOGA ASANAS -baddha konasana -malasana -viparita karani -supta baddha konasana PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom= 10 min daily -bhramari= 5 rounds -helps= stress reduction, hormonal balance, vata pitta regulation HOME REMEDIES -Coriander seed water- 1 tsp soaked overnight, boiled in morning -Pomegranate peel decoction (mild) -warm milk with pinch of nutmeg at night for sleep and vata balance SUGGESTED INVESTIGATION -CBC -Thyroid profile -pelvic ultrasound This condition is functional and revrsible Early correction gives excellent results With proper Ayurvedic treatment and lifestyle balance, cycles usually normalize within 1-2 cycles Your body is not diseased- it is asking for balance, with gentle correction, discipline, and stress management, your menstrual rhythm can return to normal DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. MAITRI ACHARYA
