I understand your concern. You’ve been dealing with long-term constipation along with gastric issues and fatty liver, and are already on allopathic medications. Ayurveda offers supportive measures that focus on improving digestion (Agni), balancing Vata, and cleansing the intestines. Here’s a simple, safe Ayurvedic Treatment Triphala Churna – 1 tsp at night with warm water or warm milk. Gently helps in chronic constipation. Best taken on an empty stomach. Isabgol (Psyllium husk) – 1 tsp with warm water before bedtime. Helps soften stools naturally. Avipattikar Churna –1 tsp with warm water after dinner. Useful for gastric acidity and liver support. Amlapittari Vati – 1 tablet after meals if you have acidity or burning sensation. Avoid heavy, oily, and deep-fried foods while taking these. External Therapies Abhyanga (oil massage) with sesame oil or medicated oils like Ksheerabala oil before bath, especially on abdomen and back. Stimulates bowel movement and calms Vata. Warm water enema (Greeva Vasti) occasionally, under Ayurvedic guidance, can help in chronic constipation without chemical laxatives. Diet Focus: Easy to digest, high-fiber, warm foods. Include daily Warm water – at least 6–8 glasses. Soaked almonds (4–5, peeled) in the morning. Fruits: papaya, pomegranate, apple (with skin), figs. Vegetables: bottle gourd, pumpkin, spinach, carrots. Whole grains: wheat, barley, millets (avoid refined flour). Lentils: moong dal, masoor dal. Use ghee in moderation. Spices: cumin, coriander, fennel in cooking – help digestion. Avoid Cold and dry foods (like crackers, cold drinks, chips). Excess fried/oily foods. Excess red meat and cheese. Too much processed sugar. Lifestyle Morning walk or gentle yoga – 20–30 mins daily. Squatting posture or foot stool while defecating helps bowel movement. Try warm water with lemon in morning to stimulate digestion. Eat at regular times, do not skip breakfast.

You are not getting relief because your intestines need lubrication…and isabgol is taken when you have to create fecal bulk …you don’t have to take it…focus on curing your liver … problem will automatically solve

Hello Thanks for sharing what you’ve been going through. I get how draining it must be dealing with constipation every day for 10 years, being dependent on Dulcolax and suppositories. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

YOUR CONCERN You’re dealing with: – Really bad, ongoing constipation – Needing Dulcoflex to go – Not feeling empty after going – Lots of gas and bloating – Fatty liver (Grade-2) – Currently on Amlaycure DS How Ayurveda Sees It: It seems like: Pakvashaya gata Vata + Ama + Yakrit-Pleeha dushti which means: –Your colon (Pakvashaya) is dry, tired, and needs help –Your digestion is weak (Agnimandya) –Toxins (Ama) are causing problems in your gut and liver –Fatty liver is making less bile, which makes constipation worse –Using Dulcolax has made your colon lazy (Atibhedana janya Grahani) So, things won’t move without a push anymore. What We Want to Do – Get rid of toxins (Ama) – Fix your colon nerves – Get things moving naturally again – Help your liver work better – Stop needing Dulcolax THE AYURVEDIC PLAN 1️⃣First Up: Detox and Soften Things (2–3 weeks) 1. Avipattikar Churna 1 tsp with warm water before bed 2.Triphala Churna1 tsp at bedtime
3. Gandharvahastadi Kashayam 15 ml + 15 ml warm water at night
4Eranda Taila 1 tsp once a week with warm milk 5.Dulcolax =Stop using it slowly – don’t quit all at once! 2️⃣ Next: Help Bowel Nerves and Liver 1.Abhayarishta 20 ml after dinner
2. Liv 52 DS 2 tablets, twice a day 3.Punarnava Mandur 1 tablet, twice a day You can keep taking Amlaycure DS for your fatty liver. HOME REMEDIES Every morning: – Warm water in a glass – 1 tsp of soaked Isabgol husk – 5 soaked raisins At night: – 1 tsp of ghee in warm milk DIET PLAN (Super Important!) No: –Bakery stuff, biscuits; – Cheese; –Spicy or fried foods; –Tea or coffee at night Yes – Stewed apple; – Papaya; – Bottle Gourd; – Oats; – Moong dal; – Ghee every day Using Dulcolax for a long time can: – Hurt your colon nerves – Make you dependent on it – Make constipation worse Ayurveda can fix this. Your intestines aren’t weak – they’re just over-stimulated and dried out. We need to help them heal, not force them. Stick with this plan, and your colon should get back to its natural rhythm. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Hello Thanks for laying out everything so clearly. I get how annoying it is when you’ve tried a bunch of stuff and nothing really works. Why You’re Still Constipated From what you’ve said: –Triphala didn’t do much –Kayam, Aniloma, Nilavara didn’t work –Isabgol made things worse –Only Trivit Leghyam gave you some relief –Now you’re thinking about Avipattikar This suggests your problem isn’t just simple constipation. It’s more like: –Really bad Vata buildup –Ama (basically, yucky undigested stuff) – Weak digestion –Maybe some nerve issues in your colon (Vata blocking things up) So just taking fiber or mild stuff probably won’t cut it. You need to hit this from different angles. Using Avipattikar the Right Way Avipattikar is a classic for acid, Vata-Kapha stuff, and mild constipation, but it might not be enough for you on its own since you have had this for a long time. How to use it: – Half to one teaspoon before bed – With warm water – Don’t use cold water or milk It can help with bile and soften things up, but it’s not a miracle worker if your digestion is weak to begin with. Which Brand: Zandu or Baidyanath? Both are fine, but for constipation: Baidyanath is usually seen as stronger and more like the traditional recipe. Zandu is okay, but not as strong. So, if it’s pretty bad, I’d lean toward: ✅ Baidyanath Avipattikar Why Isabgol Might Be Making It Worse Isabgol adds bulk, but if Vata’s already stuck and there’s Ama, your gut can’t move it, leading to bloating and pain. So, fiber isn’t great when Vata’s blocked until you get things moving first. Yes, you can use Avipattikar (Baidyanath is a good choice). But it won’t solve everything alone. For really bad, long-term constipation, you need a plan that includes: –Getting digestion going –Gentle colon support –Fixing movement –Calming Vata –Resetting colon nerves I can better guide if you are willing for personal consulation Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

When constipation continues for so many years and there is daily dependence on Dulcoflex and sometimes suppositories it usually means the colon has become dependent on stimulation and has lost some of its natural tone In Ayurveda this is understood as long standing Vata aggravation in the large intestine along with weak digestive fire Your severe gastric symptoms and grade two fatty liver show that the liver and digestion are also under strain Spicy foods aggravating your condition indicate Pitta irritation while the hard difficult stools point toward dryness of Vata It is important not to suddenly stop the stimulant laxative because that can cause rebound constipation Instead the approach should be gradual reduction while supporting the bowel in a natural way The colon needs lubrication and strengthening rather than force A mild dose of Triphala at night can help restore natural bowel movement slowly Taking one to two teaspoons of cow ghee in warm water or milk at bedtime may help lubricate the intestines Soaked black raisins in the morning can soften stool gently Although you are drinking more than three liters of water daily water alone cannot correct dryness if digestion is weak Focus on warm freshly cooked food taken at regular times Avoid very spicy fried and processed foods Gentle abdominal massage with warm sesame oil can help calm Vata and improve bowel movement Try to sit for bowel movement at the same time every morning even if the urge is mild so the body gradually relearns its rhythm For fatty liver continue appropriate liver support but remember that proper elimination is necessary for liver healing It would also be wise to check thyroid levels blood sugar and electrolytes if not done already With steady routine gradual correction of digestion and careful tapering of stimulant laxatives improvement is possible but it requires patience and consistency

HELLO, Since this has been a 10 year history of severe, daily constipation requiring regular stimulant laxatives (Dulcoflex) and suppositories, along with gastric irritation and Grade 2 fatty liver, this indicates a chronic vata-pitta imbalance with Agnimandya (weak digestive fire) and yakrit dusti (liver dysfunction ) in Ayurveda. Your long term use of stimulant laxatives suggests that the colon has become dependent and dry - a classical sign of aggravated Apana Vata. 1) CONSTIPATION -drycolon -irregular bowel reflux -vata aggravation in pakvashaya -possible gut microbiome disturbance 2) GASTRIC + ACIDITY -pitta aggravation -irregular digestion 3) FATTY LIVER(grade 2) comparable to -yakrit vriddhi -medodhatu dushti -impaired liver metabolism STEP 1= CORRECT THE ROOT- RESTORE DIGESTION This is more important than just giving laxatives MORNING (EMPTY STOMACH) -1 glass warm water + 5-7 soaked raisins (overnight soaked) -1 tsp cow ghee in warm water (lubricates colon) After 20 min -AVIPATTIKAR CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm water reduces pitta and improves bowel STEP 2= REPLACE STIMULANT LAXATIVES GRADUALLY Long term Dulcoflex weakens nature peristalsis. Do NOT stop suddenly NIGHT PROTOCOL Replace dulcoflex gradually with -TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1 tsp in warm water at bedtime =colon rejuvenator, not habit forming IF CONSTIPATION IS VERY SEVERE Add 1 ts castor oil in warm milk once or twice weekly not daily AFTER 3-4 WEEKS -Reduce dulcoflex dose slowly -eventually stop STEP 3-= FOR FATTY LIVER + GASTRIC ISSUES You are taking Amlycure DS. continue for now, but support liver deeper ADD AFTER MEALS -Arogyavardhini vati= 1 tab twice dailyy after meals BEFORE LUNCH -10 ml fresh aloe vera juice + pinch turmeric IF ACIDITY IS FREQUENTLY -SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with milk at night STEP 4= DIET -warm, soft, oily foods -moong dal khichdi with ghee -steaemed vegetables -bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin -papaya morning -black raisins soaked BEST GRAINS= old rice, barley for fatty liver, millets in moderation WATER INTAKE- 3 Litres is good- but- avoid cold water, sip warm water through the day STRICTLY AVOID -spicy foods- you already identified trigger -deep fried foodss -excess tea, coffee -refined flour -late night eating VATA PACIFFYING ROUTINE DAILY -20 min brisk walking -vajrasana after meals 5-10 min -pawanmuktasana -malasana OIL THERAPY -warm oil sesame massage 3 times/week =reduces colon dryness IDEAL NIGHT ROUTINE -early dinner before 7:30 pm -triphala at 9:30 pm -sleep before 10:30 pm WHAT TO EXPECT 7 DAYS= reduced acidity 2-3 WEEKS= softer stool 6 WEEKS= reduced dependence on laxatives 3 MONTHS= liver improvement (with diet strictness) LONG TERM GOAL -restore natural bowel reflux -reduce liver fat -balance vata-pitta -strengthen digestive fire DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU
