Is long-term use of laxatives harmful? - #52135

For regular use of laxative (kayam) tab; is there any health problematic? The said tablet I have been using it for a long time
How long have you been using the laxative?:

- Yes, decreased fiber intakeDoctors' responses
It’s not harmful, but your gut becomes dependent on the medicine. After sometime it also looses it becomes habituated and may not work also. Better reduce its use and try with different Panchkarma like virechana and basti. Along with diet modification.
