Can I take Avipattikar for Pittaj Atisara after using Panchkol and Bilvadi? - #54293
Pittaj atisara - bcoz of hot weather i started facing, loose motion once a day.But since it was only once a day i continued to have normal food instead of lightdiet so motion became sticky with loose(aam) Now after years i got to know that pitta has diminished my agni.So dr advised me to first digest aam using panchkol then have bilvadi + kutajghan. So can I also have avipattikar for pitta?
Doctors' responses
Avipattikar Churna is mainly for Pitta reduction + mild virechana (laxative) In Atisara (loose motions), giving a laxative can worsen bowel frequency and weaken Agni further So it is not suitable during active loose/sticky stools Correct Ayurvedic Approach 1. First Stage (Ama Pachana – already started) Panchkol → correct → Digests Ama and improves Agni 2. Second Stage (Stambhana + Pitta balance) Bilvadi + Kutajghan → correct → Controls diarrhea and heals intestine 3. Third Stage (After stools become normal) then you may use Avipattikar Churna (low dose) → To balance residual Pitta and prevent recurrence Diet (Very Important) take: rice gruel, moong dal, pomegranate, buttermilk (with roasted jeera) Avoid: spicy, oily, sour, tea/coffee, heat-producing foods Simple support coriander water (dhaniya boiled in water) – cools Pitta Small frequent meals Regards Dr Shashank Aggarwal Ayurveda Consultant
Now don’t use avipathikara choorna. After the ama pachana, you can start with avipathy choornam 1/2 tsp regularly at night. Use panchakola choornam 1 tsp regularly. (1 week) Then take vilwadi gulika 1-0-1 after food. Take care, Dr. Shaniba
