Doctors’ responses

Your daughter is 13 years old and 4’10”, which is within a normal height range, but since she is still growing, this is the best time to naturally boost her height. Height growth depends on genes, nutrition, hormones, and physical activity. Let her start these exercises Bar Hanging – Best for increasing height. Cobra Stretch (Bhujangasana) Tadasana (Mountain Pose) – Increases spinal length. Surya Namaskar – Boosts overall growth. Posture Matters! Encourage sitting & standing straight to maximize height potential.

Thanks Doctor. Can I give aswagandha Powder and Satavari powder to increase her height. If yes please tell me the quantity per day. Please help. She has Vitamin D deficiency.
When considering height growth in adolescents, we should remember that it is largely determined by genetics, but there are some factors we can optimize to support natural growth. For your daughter, who's 13, there could still be growth potential, so let's focus on supporting it from an Ayurvedic perspective. Firstly, diet plays a significant role in providing the necessary nutrients for growth. As she's a vegetarian, ensure she gets plenty of protein through sources like lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, and dairy products if tolerated. Calcium and Vitamin D are crucial for bone health, so include foods rich in them, like milk, leafy greens, almonds, and sesame seeds. Encourage sitting in the sunlight for about 20 minutes a day, which aids in the natural synthesis of Vitamin D. In Ayurveda, the overall health of the Agni or digestive fire is crucial. A balanced Agni aids proper nutrient absorption and eliminates toxins. You might consider starting the day with warm water mixed with a teaspoon of honey and a pinch of cinnamon, which helps in cleansing the body. Trikatu churna (a blend of black pepper, long pepper, and ginger) can be added in small amounts to her meals to support digestion, but always consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before introducing any herbs. Engaging in regular physical activities, especially those that promote stretching and posture correction such as yoga or swimming, can be beneficial. Poses like Tadasana (Mountain Pose) or Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) can help in stimulating the growth plates and improving posture. Sleep is another critical component. Ensure she gets 8-10 hours of good-quality sleep every night, as growth hormones are secreted in higher amounts during deep sleep. While there is no specific Ayurvedic medicine proven to increase height, the above lifestyle and dietary optimizations can foster a conducive environment for growth. Remember each person is different, so she may grow in her own time and way. Finally, maintaining a stress-free environment with regular practices such as meditation or deep breathing exercises can support hormonal balance and overall well-being. Patience and consistency with these practices are key.
