Quitting the smoking and doing exercises is a very good plan

Quitting smoking and making a positive change in your life is certainly possible and commendable. Ayurveda has some guidance that might be helpful. First of all, understanding your dosha is crucial as it can guide you on how to build a routine that support your body's needs. Anxiety and stress can often point to a vata imbalance, which needs calming and grounding. To start, creating a daily routine (dinacharya) focusing on grounding practices can help you feel more secure and steady. Consider waking up at the same time each morning, even when your family situations create stress. Begin your day with some gentle exercises. Surya Namaskar or simple yoga postures like Shavasana can help calm the mind and reduce anxiety. In the case of smoking, your body has gotten used to it gradually, so rebalancing might take some time too. Integrating herbs like Brahmi or Ashwagandha in your daily regime can support mental clarity and stress reduction. Ayurveda suggests using licorice root too—it can help decrease cravings. When it comes to diet, focus on warm, nourishing foods. Favor cooked vegetables and whole grains while avoiding stimulants such as caffeine and refined sugar. Drinking warm teas made of ginger or tulsi might help boost your digestion (agni) - which also indirectly support your mental resilience. Don't forget to pay attention to your breath. Pranayama, or breathing exercises, can be particularly effective in managing anxiety. Sit comfortably and take deep, slow breaths for about 5-10 minutes daily, aligning with your environment as calmly as possible. Have patience with yourself during this transition. It's okay to seek companionship or community support. If the anxiety seems overwhelming, don't hesitate to consult with a healthcare practitioner alongside your Ayurvedic practices to get a comprehensive plan that's centered on both mind and body health.
