Heaviness in the chest and a mild burning sensation often suggest an imbalance connected to your digestive process, or Agni in Ayurvedic terms. When dealing with both acidity and a grade-2 fatty liver, it’s important to find that sweet spot where dietary recommendations can serenade each other, not clash. For your liver, you’ll want to support its function without exacerbating acidity. Focus on foods that target both, like ash gourd, bottle gourd, and moong dal — they’re gentle and cooling to the Pitta dosha, which often gets aggravated in acidity. Engage with your veggies — natural, seasonal produce are your friends. Prioritize steamed, lightly cooked vegetables rather than raw ones. They’re easier on digestion, reducing acid production. For fruits, pears, pomegranate, and sweet apples usually work well. Try including turmeric (haldi), which has liver-friendly properties while being relatively mild in terms of warming qualities. A trick here is using amla juice in moderation; powerfully packed with antioxidants and helps soothe the burning as it cools the body down, promoting liver health. On the grains front, rice and millets like barley are preferable, but consume them with ghee, which not only aids digestion, but helps smoothen energy flow overall. Limit intake of dairy, instead explore buttermilk with a pinch of roasted cumin after meals, it calms the stomach lining without straining the liver. Avoid spicy, fried and very oily foods which only fuel acidity or fatty liver. Refined sugar and alcohol are also best kept at arms length. Sip warm herbal teas like ginger and fennel which calm your ‘fire’, but aren't too overbearing for your liver. Don’t neglect your lifestyle too — gentle yoga and pranayama can rebuild every cell inside you. Kapaalbhati, albeit gently, not too forceful, acts like a breath of fresh air, aiding in digestion and energizing the whole system. Consistency with these changes, alongside regular check-ups, can surely guide you back onto a healthy track. Once you establish this balance more steadily, both issues can sidestep away from interference. Seek immediate medical attention if any severe or alarming symptoms arise, as it’s important to address them without hesitation.
