Premature ejaculation can be a concern, and Ayurveda offers several avenues to address this, primarily focusing on balancing doshas and strengthening the dhatus. Typically, this condition may arise due to imbalances in the Vata and Pitta doshas, and poor control of Apana Vayu, a sub-type of Vata that governs the reproductive organs.

First, let’s consider the dietary aspect. Ayurvedic nutrition emphasizes foods that calm Vata dosha. You might want to increase the intake of warm, cooked, and nourishing foods. Ghee, milk with ashwagandha, almonds, and cashews provide nourishment. Also, reduce hot, spicy, and processed foods which can aggravate Pitta.

Herbal formulations can also be quite beneficial. Ashwagandha and Shatavari are renowned for enhancing vitality and stamina, while creating a calming effect on your body. Take 1-2 teaspoons of a mixture of Ashwagandha and Shatavari powder with warm milk, preferably at night. However, its a good idea to consult with an ayurvedic practitioner before starting any new herbs to ensure suitability to your prakriti and current state of health.

Along with diet and herbs, lifestyle modifications are also important. Regular exercise and yogic practices like Pranayama and meditation can incredibly improve control over ejaculation by increasing awareness and relaxation. Specific exercises like Kegel exercises are highly recommended—it’s about repeatedly squeezing and holding the pelvic floor muscles, and releasing them.

Avoid excessive indulgence in sexual activities as it can exacerbate Vata imbalance. Adequate sleep and stress management are vital as factors like stress can contribute significantly to early ejaculation. You should also limit or avoid alcohol and smoking if you do them.

Above all, it’s essential to recognize that patience and consistency in following these practices play a crucial role in achieving balance and improving premature ejaculation.

Premature ejaculation is a common issue, often linked to vata imbalance. Based on the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, understanding the balance of doshas in your body is key. First, it’s essential to maintain a regular routine, as irregular habits can exacerbate vata disorders.

To address your situation, start by incorporating Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) into your diet. These herbs are known for their adaptogenic and rejuvenative properties, helping to stabilize vata and strengthen the nervine system. You can take 1-2 teaspoons of Ashwagandha powder in warm milk before bed, and 1-2 teaspoons of Shatavari powder in the morning.

Simultaneously, focus on dietary adjustments. Consuming warm, nourishing foods can stabilize vata, such as ghee, oats, sweet potatoes, and avoiding excessively cold or dry foods. Regular consumption of nuts like almonds or walnuts also helps build the sapta dhatus, enhancing overall strength and stamina.

Practicing mindfulness can support your treatment. Engage in pranayama exercises, such as Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), to calm and regulate the nervous system. Adding yoga asanas that target balance, like Padmasana (lotus pose), can be beneficial.

While these steps can naturally address premature ejaculation, it’s crucial to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to evaluate the underlying causes accurately. Although pills haven’t worked, it’s important to avoid self-medication without guidance. Severe or persistent cases can be linked to deeper health issues, so professional evaluation is essential for comprehensive care.
