Hello 🙂 I’ll explain this as a doctor + practical Ayurvedic guidance, because dark marks + thin legs + facial & neck pigmentation (melasma-type) usually have internal + external causes. 1️⃣ WHY THIS IS HAPPENING (simple explanation) 🔹 Dark marks on legs Common reasons: Old insect bites / folliculitis / shaving → marks stay Dry skin + scratching Poor circulation in legs Mild nutritional deficiency (iron, protein, B12) Stress → increases pitta + cortisol Legs heal slowly, so marks stay longer than face. 🔹 Thin legs Usually due to: Low muscle mass Poor protein absorption Weak mamsa dhatu (muscle tissue) in Ayurveda Sitting lifestyle or very low-fat diet 🔹 Face & neck pigmentation (MEVK) Triggers: Stress Hormonal imbalance Sun exposure Excess pitta Gut / liver sluggishness 2️⃣ TREATMENT PLAN (INSIDE + OUTSIDE) If you do only creams → won’t work fully. Internal correction is MUST. 3️⃣ INTERNAL REMEDIES (safe & effective) 🌿 Morning (empty stomach) Amla powder – 1 tsp warm water ✔ Reduces pigmentation ✔ Improves skin glow ✔ Controls stress-related pitta 🌿 After breakfast Manjistha capsule – 500 mg 👉 once daily ✔ Best blood purifier ✔ Lightens old dark marks ✔ Improves leg circulation 🌿 After lunch Ashwagandha powder – ½ tsp with warm milk or water ✔ Helps legs gain muscle ✔ Reduces stress ✔ Improves hormonal balance 🌿 After dinner Triphala powder – ½ tsp with warm water ✔ Clears gut & liver ✔ Helps facial & neck pigmentation 4️⃣ EXTERNAL APPLICATION (VERY IMPORTANT) 🌿 For legs – dark marks At night Coconut oil 2 tsp Castor oil ½ tsp pinch turmeric Massage only on legs, upward direction, 5–7 min 👉 daily ✔ Lightens marks ✔ Improves thickness of legs ✔ Boosts blood flow 🌿 For face & neck (2–3× weekly) Face pack Multani mitti – 1 tsp Sandalwood powder – ½ tsp Rose water Apply 10–12 min → wash ✔ Reduces melasma & neck darkness 5️⃣ DIET TO THICKEN LEGS & CLEAR SKIN Add daily: 1 glass milk Handful peanuts / soaked almonds Ghee 1–2 tsp Dal, paneer, curd Banana or dates Avoid: ❌ Very low-fat diet ❌ Excess tea / coffee ❌ Junk, bakery, fried food 6️⃣ SIMPLE LEG EXERCISES (5–10 min daily) Squats (10–15) Heel raises (20) Brisk walking ✔ Helps legs gain shape naturally

For leg thickness Start with Ashwagandha churan 0-0-1tsp with milk Chyavanprash 2tsp once daily before food with water Massage your legs with ashwagandha oil in the morning. For pigmented areas apply kumkumadi oil, at night before bedtime.
Dark marks on the legs, pigmentation on the face and neck, and thin legs usually come together because the root cause is deeper.
In Ayurveda, this condition is commonly is due to Vata and Pitta imbalance.Vata causes dryness, thin legs, poor muscle bulk and weakness of tissues. Pitta affects the blood and skin, leading to dark patches, uneven colour and pigmentation .When stress is present, digestion weakens s, blood quality reduces
Your body is asking for proper nourishment, rest and balance.
For the dark marks on your legs and pigmentation on face and neck, internal cleansing of blood is necessary. Only external application will not work. I usually advise blood purifying and cooling herbs which correct pigmentation without harming the body. Manjistha, Sariva, Guduchi and Amla are very useful . These work gradually, not aggressively, but they repair skin If digestion is weak, even the best medicines will not show results, so correcting digestion is equally important.
Externally, you can applyaloe vera gel or kumkumadi taila on face and neck helps. For legs, regular oiling followed by massage improves circulation and helps marks fade over time avoid scrubbing, harsh soaps or chemical creams. They worsen pigmentation
Think legs is not because you are not eating enough. It happens when muscle tissue is not getting nourished properly. Many women eat, but due to stress, irregular meals or weak digestion, the nourishment does not reach the legs. That is why legs remain thin while other parts look normal.
Warm oil like Ksheerabala taila or Ashwagandha oil, has to be applied from ankle upwards, which helps improve muscle strength and fullness. This is one of the most important steps,Along with this, proper rest, regular meals, warm food and avoiding excess cold or dry foods will support leg nourishment.
For diet. Warm, freshly cooked food, a little ghee daily, milk iand good protein sources Avoid skipping meals and avoid excess tea, coffee and junk foods
Hello I can totally understand your concern. It’s totally normal to feel bummed out about dark spots, uneven skin tone, and thin legs all at once. But dont worry we are here to help you out 😊
YOUR CONCERN
* Dark marks on your legs for over six months * Thin legs (not enough muscle or fat) * Discoloration on your face and neck * Trigger: Stress * Diet: All over the place, or you’re not sure
This tells me it’s more about an inner imbalance than just a skin thing.
AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING Ayurveda would say your situation comes from:
1. Pitta problems:This causes the spots and discoloration. 2. Vata being too high: This leads to thin legs, not enough nourishment, and dryness. 3 Rakta dhatu dushti This is why you have chronic skin marks. 4. Stress: This just makes Vata and Pitta worse, adding to the discoloration and stopping your body from building up healthy tissue. 5. Weak Agni (digestion): This means your body isn’t turning nutrients into healthy skin and muscle properly.
Basically, the real issue is an internal imbalance, plus stress and poor nourishment, not just how your skin looks.
TREATMENT GOAL
* Fading those dark spots and discoloration gently. * Making your skin look better and glow from the inside out. * Helping your leg muscles and fat get more nourishment. * Getting Vata and Pitta back in balance. * Lowering skin flare-ups caused by stress.
AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT
INTERNAL MEDICATION (3–4 months):
1. Manjishthadi ks tab 2-0-2 twice a day after meals with warm water. This cleans your blood and helps with discoloration.
2. Sarivadyasava: Take 15 ml with the same amount of water twice a day after food. Great for long-lasting dark spots and uneven skin tone.
3. Ashwagandha Capsule 1 capsule at night with warm milk. Helps with stress and feeds your muscles.
4. Shatavari kalpa Take 1/2 teaspoon once a day (in the morning). Boosts tissue building and keeps your skin hydrated.
EXTERNAL CARE (super important):
1. For Legs Dark Marks: Massage daily with Mannisthadi Taila. This gets your blood flowing, builds up muscle, and improves skin tone.
2. For Face & Neck Discoloration: Put 2-3 drops of Kumkumadi Taila on at night and gently rub it in. Wash your face with a gentle herbal cleanser.
Don’t use:- Harsh scrubs, bleaching creams, or chemical facials too often.
DIET PLAN (key for both problems):
AVOID:
* Really spicy, fried, oily foods. * Junk food, bakery stuff. * More than one cup of tea/coffee. * Skipping meals. * Staying up late.
INCLUDE:
* Warm, freshly cooked meals. * Cow ghee (1-2 teaspoons daily). * Milk, almonds you’ve soaked, dates. * Rice, wheat, moong dal. * Seasonal fruits (don’t overdo citrus). * Lots of water (warm or room temp).
Your diet is essential for thicker legs – without it, the medicine won’t do much.
THICKER LEGS – What Really Helps:
* Daily oil massage on your legs (Abhyanga) – 10 minutes. * Squats, leg raises, yoga poses like Virabhadrasana, Utkatasana, Malasana. * Getting enough protein (lentils, milk, paneer cheese). * Expect slow and steady gains over 3-4 months.
HANDLING STRESS (you absolutely need to do this):**
Your skin discoloration is clearly linked to stress.
Daily: * Anulom Vilom + Bhramari breathing – 15 minutes. * Go to sleep before 11 pm. * Spend 10 minutes relaxing quietly or praying.
Just getting stress under control can reduce your skin discoloration by 30-40%.
WHAT TO EXPECT (if you stick with it): * Fading of discoloration: 6–8 weeks. * Better skin texture: 1 month. * Leg nourishment & thickness: 3–4 months.
Being consistent is everything. Your body isn’t broken – it just needs the right food, balance, and routine. With the right help, you’ll definitely see things get better.
Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
