I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW FRUSTRATING AND EXHAUSTING THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FOR YOU ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAS BEEN PRESENT FOR SO MANY YEARS AND HAS NOW BECOME WORSE

FROM AN AYURVEDIC VIEW THIS TYPE OF STRAINING WITH SOFT STOOLS AND REPEATED UNSATISFACTORY MOTIONS INDICATES WEAK BOWEL SIGNALS DRYNESS OF THE COLON AND POOR COORDINATION OF THE DEFECATION REFLEX THE MAIN AIM OF TREATMENT IS TO RESTORE NATURAL BOWEL MOVEMENT NOT TO FORCE STOOL OUT

STOP STRAINING COMPLETELY EVEN IF YOU FEEL THE MOTION IS INCOMPLETE GO ONLY WHEN THERE IS A NATURAL URGE DO NOT SIT FOR LONG TIME OR MAKE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS

EAT SIMPLE WARM COOKED MEALS RICE MOONG DAL VEGETABLE SOUPS KHICHDI AND STEWED VEGETABLES ARE IDEAL AVOID DRY FOODS BAKERY ITEMS EXCESS TEA COFFEE SPICY AND VERY HEAVY FOODS INCLUDE A SMALL AMOUNT OF GHEE DAILY AS IT HELPS LUBRICATE THE BOWEL

TRIPHALA CHURNA ONE TEASPOON AT NIGHT WITH LUKEWARM WATER DAILY THIS HELPS RESET THE BOWEL RHYTHM AND STRENGTHENS THE RECTAL RESPONSE OVER TIME

ABHAYARISHTA TWENTY ML WITH EQUAL AMOUNT OF WATER AFTER DINNER DAILY THIS IS VERY EFFECTIVE IN LONG STANDING STRAINING AND INCOMPLETE EVACUATION

GANDHARVA HARITAKI CHURNA HALF TEASPOON AT NIGHT WITH WARM WATER FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS ONLY AFTER THAT STOP IT AND CONTINUE ONLY TRIPHALA

IF GAS OR BLOATING IS PRESENT HINGVASHTAK CHURNA HALF TSP WITH WARM WATER AFTER MEALS

AS THIS CONDITION HAS DEVELOPED OVER DECADES SO IMPROVEMENT WILL BE GRADUAL DO NOT EXPECT DAILY PERFECT MOTIONS IN THE BEGINNING CONSISTENCY AND PATIENCE ARE THE KEY

IF YOU FOLLOW THIS PROPERLY FOR SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS YOU WILL START FEELING LESS STRAINING BETTER EMPTYING AND MORE COMFORT

Hlo,

Your symptoms seem to be very old (around 40–50 years), but they have worsened now. You get the urge to go to the toilet 4–5 times a day, but only a small amount of stool passes each time

The stool is soft, yet difficult to pass → this points toward outlet constipation / pelvic floor dyssynergia / a chronic Vata-type disorder - In this condition, Triphala alone is not sufficient

Understand the problem in simple terms - The issue is not in your stomach, but in the poor coordination of the anus–rectum muscles - Because of this, even when the stool is soft, you still need to strain - You feel the urge repeatedly, but complete evacuation does not happen

🌿 Ayurvedic + practical treatment (step by step)

1️⃣ Morning routine (very important) After waking up: 👉 1 glass of lukewarm water + 1 teaspoon ghee (If ghee doesn’t suit you, take only warm water)

Toilet posture: 👉 On a Western toilet, keep a small stool under your feet (This squat-like position helps a lot)

2️⃣ Medicines (regular, not occasional) At night (daily): - Abhayarishta 15 ml + equal amount of water - Isabgol 2 teaspoons in warm milk or water 👉 This does not just soften the stool, but makes passing stool easier

Triphala: - Not daily Only on alternate days, ½ teaspoon at night

3️⃣ If straining is severe / an old habit Anu Taila / Panchgun Taila 👉 2–3 times a week, at night (local application / matra basti) This gradually relaxes anal tightness and re-trains the muscles

4️⃣ Diet – foods to avoid ❌ Dry foods: - Biscuits, namkeen, toast - Excess tea - Leftover/stale food ❌ On an empty stomach in the morning: - Triphala - Cumin tea - Very hot foods (these increase Vata further)

5️⃣ Diet – foods that help ✅ Daily: - Daliya, oats (with a little ghee) - Bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin - At night: a little milk + ghee ✅ During the day: - Drink water in small amounts but frequently

6️⃣ Very important habit correction - Go to the toilet at the same time every day, even if there is no strong urge - Do not strain at all - Avoid using mobile phone while sitting - Sit relaxed and take deep breaths ⚠️ When further tests are needed If there is: - A very long history - Daily feeling of incomplete evacuation - Past history of piles, fissure, or surgery - Then anorectal manometry / pelvic floor assessment can be helpful. this problem can improve, but only with a regular routine and muscle retraining. Sat Shri Akal 🙏
