Since you have both diabetes and hypertension, completely avoiding sweets and salt is not always necessary, but balance and portion control are very important. Eating too much sweet, salty, or fatty food at once can cause sudden fluctuations in blood sugar and blood pressure, which may be why you feel unwell after such meals. Try to follow these basic guidelines: • Eat small, regular meals instead of large heavy meals • Choose complex carbohydrates (whole grains, vegetables) instead of refined sugar • Limit fried and very fatty foods • Use salt in moderation rather than completely eliminating it unless your doctor advised strict restriction • Combine any sweet food with fiber or protein and keep the portion small If you feel sick after eating certain foods, it is important to review your diet plan and medications with a doctor. A personalized consultation can help create a balanced routine so you can eat safely without triggering symptoms.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
